I finally had to whip out the dawnblade for a bout of eternal youth. I used some criminals that were due to become servitors.
Since, father is protected by his talisman I shared what it does with him. We gave mother a talisman necklace as well and all 3 of us took a turn. Yay. We’re all eternally young now.
I did consider being a sneaky shit and letting the old man live his natural life and taking over after. He’s a decent enough guy. I also have plenty of freedom and ability to contribute to the direction of the dynasty. Managing all the shit he does would drive me insane.
I’m already antsy to get out there and do something again. Sitting at Accatran for 13 years has been meh. It loses its novelty after a while. Since the suggestion about the Starr-Class Heavy Frigate I haven’t really had much interaction with the Cult on the creative side.
Most of my time is spent making babies and training with my older children. Sims, sims and more sims. I did manage to trade for some real fleet engagement data. Cleaned it up a bit and used it for additional sim training.
It took awhile but we finally selected another one of my kids as captain for the 3rd Accatran-Class battlecruiser. His name is Nathaniel.
His sim scores are good but attention was also given to his soft skills. He’s pretty good at handling political situations. Since he’ll be the captain of father’s battlecruiser it makes sense I guess.
I don’t mean this to diminish his achievements because like I said his sim scores are good. He regularly scores in the top 3 or 5 of any combat sim he runs. He’s very consistent. He’s also in my opinion kind of bland. His aggression quotient is nearly non-existent as far as I’m concerned.
By comparison Felicia is a Tiger on the hunt. Smart, driven, calculating, stealthy, stalks her prey and absolutely obliterates it. She’s amazing.
She’s not dishonest but when it comes to combat she has a killer instinct. She would have been fantastic in a Knight but I’m glad she’s commanding ships instead.
You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.
Felicia went on a few escort runs captaining one of the new frigates while leading some of her siblings that were captaining other frigates. Their route was quiet much to their consternation.
She returned a couple years ago and has been acting as my assistant running sims and writing up evaluations for her siblings. I still review things of course. We’ve picked up a few more prospective good captains.
We’re all relatively ‘young and inexperienced’ though. We have been mitigating this concern by attempting to pair up with experienced ‘moderati’ for lack of a better term.
They won’t necessarily stop a Captain from doing something dumb if they really want to. However they do join in our simulation exercises and bring things up to the trainees in the moment just as if they were on a ship.
Good news, 3 battlecruisers and 12 frigates have been completed and are ready for action. Father made one of the battlecruisers his new flagship with Nathaniel as its captain and has decided to join us on our merry little Ork hunt.
At least until we start hulking vessels. The remaining 2 battlecruisers are captain by myself and Felicia.
In total there are 3 battlecruisers, 12 Star-Class Frigates, 2 clippers and 12 tempest-class frigates. I’m doing my best to restrain my excitement.
I’ve been sitting here for over a decade handling “administrative” tasks. Yet now I’m setting out with 8x more firepower and enough mission endurance to go decades without resupply. 😈
The plan is to systematically go through ork infested systems. I don’t really want to deal with ground war issues. Our purpose is to hunt ork fleets. If it's a system with orks on the ground and no humans give it a nice orbital bombardment then leave.
If there are humans we’ll offer an orbital bombardment of ork positions before leaving the system. We will NOT be landing.

We’ll be working on clearing the space from Accatran > Ichar IV > Agrellan then as far north as the Great Rift.
