ABSTRACT

This study complies data from global fortune 500 companies beginning in 2023 ending in 2043. Over 1200 companies were included in the data collection across 90 countries. Artificial intelligence*1 is defined as the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.

The workforce innovation impacts have been aggregated into four categories; 1. Machine learning. 2. Natural Language Processes (NLP). 3. Robotics. 4. Self-aware bot units.

The study concluded that in the decade following the public adoption of AI use (defined as non-private use of AI tools available to public for free or at “reasonable” costs.) there was a minor impact to the work-force (less than 1 out of 100 role eliminations were attributed to AI or AI tools – roughly 750,000 jobs). However, as the adoption of artificial intelligence in the work place expanded, AI tools improved and self-aware bot units became commercially popular. In the mid 30’s the workforce impact grew in its significant (Nearly 4 of 10 professional full-time-equivalent roles eliminated or transferred to 3rd party AI support firms – roughly 30,000,000 jobs).

This study does not address societal impacts of the global “2036 Right-sizing Rush”*3 many corporations participated in 2035-2037. This study does not include Government relief for AI related lay-offs staring 2036.

The A1 impact by category is summarized as follow: 1. Machine learning (3%). 2. NLP (1). 3. Robotics (28%). 4. Self-aware bot units (68%). Over 70% of corporations included in this study reported record high profitability measure in one of the reporting years in the period 2033-2037. 43% of these corporations regressed to pre-2033 profitability numbers or lower in the period 2039-2043 (including 18% that filed bankruptcy after 2037). In conclusion, the period between 2032 and 2042 resulted in the loss of what is estimated to be 30,000,000 full-time salaried positions globally.
