Chapter 43
Eva Lemuria
I keep talking for probably hours and I feel my head getting dizzier as we sit. At some point Anne had moved from my side to my lap and is now using my breast as a pillow. I can't understand her attachment when we haven't even really spoken to each other. I keep speaking as I just look at the wall. No matter how much I look I can't spot anything that looks like a door. I can't believe grandfather was such a pervert. I soon finish telling my mother everything and I notice that this whole time I have not ran out of alcohol. I look behind me and I notice that theres a pile of empty bottles next to Julie as she opens another bottle of alcohol. She seems to notice my stare as she looks up from the bottle. She shoves it behind her back and then looks away as if the ceiling is the most interesting thing ever all of a sudden.
Damn it I am completely drunk that I can barely feel my conscious. I guess this is what those lizards feel when they drink. It took a pile of bottles just to get me drunk instead of just the usual buzz. I have basically spilled my guts to my mother. I know normally I wouldn't speak no matter how I drunk I would get, but I guess deep down I feel comfortable with mother that this slight push made me spill everything to her. She's too sneaky. I look over at mother and see that she has a very furious expression. She's already promised that she wont go picking any fights with the dragons, but I am sure theres still others she can inflict her wrath on. She could probably go after the elves for having Lucas Sylvari as a noble. I can imagine my mother flooding an entire city in her rage. I think she will probably go after father first though. She probably tried to get something out of him, but he remain very tight lipped. I cant remember if I told her that Father knew where I was from our letters or not, but I am sure he's doomed either way.
All of a sudden Mother looks over at me and I tense up. I try to scoot away but she's already had her arm around my waste for a while. I feel afraid so I pull my bottle close to my chest. It seems the stare wasn't about the alcohol as her looks change to a “What are you doing?” kind of look. I just keep drinking. I know they've gotten me drunk on purpose so I will just keep drinking until I pass out so they can't question me.
“Eva,” My mothers gentle voice brings my attention back to her from my bottle. “I don't plan on taking your bottle so you don't have to be so protective. You're acting just like your Father. Eva I wanted to know why you didn't tell me about this and instead hid it from me. Eva no matter what I will always love you. You don't have to be afraid of our feelings ever changing about you. You are still my cute little moody child. Eva I think Anne perfectly represents how we feel.”
I look down at Anne who seems to have fallen asleep on my chest. Her head is resting right on the scales on my chest, but she seems perfectly fine. It seems like she's not much of a talker yet, but she's still very affectionate and cute. I think she's still too young a naive to understand whats going on around her. She had just ran straight at my when I was clearly covered in my flame armor. If I didn't dispel my flames she definitely would have been badly burned.
“Mother she just doesn't understand anything going on around her. She called my arm cool even though almost anyone else would have called it terrifying. Look this is not a hand, it’s a claw. I will not change how I’ve been covering it. Others would scream in terror and then when the people find out they'll demand I leave the kingdom or worse. For now I don't want to be kicked out of my own kingdom yet.”
“No matter what others want I wouldn't allow that. I am a mother before I am a queen. I will always protect you from those kinds of people.” Mother
“Mother you cannot abandon your duties for someone like me. Also I am stronger that you now mother. How can you protect me when I am stronger? I was able to get a good punch on some adult dragons before escaping. It was purely an unfair surprise attack and I basically used the physical strength of a dragon, but I still knocked a dragon down! Mother I am very strong now. Hahahahaha... but I am still not strong enough.”
“Yes, sweetheart you mentioned beating up a dragon earlier. That remind me that we still have to discuss the dragon that's been staying here for a while. She just showed up someday saying she's an ambassador, but she hasn't actually done anything. If she wasn't a terrifying dragon I would actually say she's a perfect guest. Very polite and never complains about anything. I am not sure if we should ask her to leave or not.” Mother
“It’s a she? What colors her hair? What did she say her name is? Crap is it her? Why would she come here? I have to know! Munin! Come let's go fight a lizard!”
“Squawk!” Munin
Munin gets up of the ground and shoots at my shoulder. I throw Anne over my other shoulder and I grab my bottle before I make my way towards the door. If its who I think it is I kind of want to kill her. Why would she come here after everything? If it isn't her I can still kill what ever dragon it is.

“Eva! You're not wearing any clothes! Also, why are you carrying Anne like that?” Mother
“Right clothes are important. I can't let people see my scales yet. Also, Anne was fighting with Munin earlier remember? Anne wants to sit on my shoulder like Munin does.”
I set the two children down as I hear my mother say "That's not the point." before I start getting dressed and I hide my arm for now. I pull my weapons out of the bathroom door before sheathing them. I then pick up Munin and put her on my shoulder. When I go to pick up Anne she isn't where I left her, but Julie is holding her now. I shrug my shoulders and grab my bottle before leaving. I get outside and stop as Julie calls out to me.
“I will take Anne to her bed so she can continue her nap. Princess Eva ambassadors would be in the guest wing of the castle. There’s only the dragon ambassador and some servants there.” Julie
I say a quick thank you before I begin walking towards the guest wing of the castle. It’s been years but I still remember my way. I also notice that almost everything is the same. The same rugs, the same paintings, I even notice the same cuts in the walls from when I would play around with my dagger indoors. I look at the cuts in the wall, but I notice a menacing glare behind me so I keep walking.
“Eva you're not going to start a fight that will destroy the castle right? Are you? Because I don't think we can afford to replace some of the things we have in the guest rooms. I don't want to have to spend more money. Since the wars started trade had been down in the kingdom. It will probably start up again if the wars have truly ended though.” Mother
Mother has actually been talking quite a bit, but I have mostly ignored her. I have a set goal in mind right now. I want to see with dragon is the ambassador to my kingdom. If its just some random dragon here to watch my movements then fine. If it’s her then I don't actually know what Ill do. Maybe I will just get rid of her or maybe Ill just ignore her. For now I just need to get there without getting lost or falling over. If I do I am sure mother will call me drunk and have me go to my room or something.
We finally make it to the guest area and I throw open the large doors that lead to the guest central area. There are couches and books so the guest can relax outside of their private rooms if they like. There's a fireplace and the walls have several bookshelf filled with different pieces to read. Nothing is of to much value here, but its all very nice. I scan the room until I spot her in a chair next to the fireplace with a stack of books by her. She doesn't notice me at first because she's so engrossed in her book so I slowly approach her. When I am a couple of steps away I pull my arm back and throw my bottle towards her. My bottle barely misses her head but it seems I have drawn her attention from the book. She looks up at me and her face goes pale and she jumps up. She holds her hands up as she starts backing up.
“Eva! I am not here to cause any trouble. I swear!” Saras
“What the hell are you doing here you bitch?!”
“I am here as an ambassador! My punishment for letting you go was to be banished from the dragon valley so my parents suggested I come here for you, but I would never do that! I just had nowhere to go. I wanted to check up on you, but you still had not come back after you left the valley so I stayed here.” Saras
“So you are not even an ambassador? Eva, why are you attacking her so much? Who is she? How do you know her?” Mother
“She’s the dragon that killed me and then turned me into what I am now! She killed me and then when she tried to help it only made things worse. Now that she's suffering the consequences she comes here? I think now would be a great time to evict her or better yet dispose of her.”
Without a second thought I charge at Saras with my fist raised and I form a destruction fist. Saras screams and dives out of the way as my fist passes her and my attack flies at the fireplace behind her. The fireplace explodes and bricks fly everywhere. I stabilize my wobbly feet and look at Saras’ pale face as she looks at me. She opens her mouth to say something, but I just charge at her again and use my legs to form a lighting edge as I try to cut her down, but she just dodges and my attack cuts through some bookshelves and the wall.
“Wait! I surrender! I don't want to fight! Please stop already. You can barely even stand right now!” Saras
“Shut up and die you lizard!”
I charge at Saras again except at this point I undo my arm from its harness and I form a lighting claw on my hand before I attack her again. I bring my clawed hand down towards Saras who has fallen down while running from me and I am excited to get rid of this lizard, but right before my attack lands I am blindsided by a geyser of water. I am blasted toward the destroyed fireplace and the water forms a bubble around me. I can’t determine up from down as I look outside the water bubble. I spot mother with her hand outstretched towards me and the other towards another bubble. Inside is Saras who looks as surprised as I am. Both our bubbles open up just enough so our heads are sticking out, but the pressure keeps our bodies stuck.
“Eva I specifically told you not to destroy anything. I mean look at the destruction you caused in barely a couple of minutes. Are you going to pay for this? I didn't think so.” Mother
“Mother! She killed me! Not metaphorical death, but literal death! She then turned me into more of a monster. How can you stop me?”
I feel my rage increase and I start form my flame armor. My flames clash directly with Mothers water. The water starts to quickly boil and steam begins to form. Before I could continue Mother’s water bubble encloses my head again and then the bubble starts to spin. I have no way to brace my self as I am spun around in multiple ways and then mothers bubble completely stops and I am thrown straight up. I am so dizzy that I feel like I will puke as I land right back into mothers bubble. Thankfully it stopped spinning around.
“Do you believe I don't also want to kill this girl? I want to rip her throat out with my bare hands right now and then send her head to her family. I want to do that, but you said it yourself that we cant afford to fight the dragons. Especially now that there's some group out there reaching for power. I will lock her up in our best dungeon. We will keep her there for now and I don't think the dragons have any right to complain if we lock up one of theirs. Are you even listening to me?” Mother
I am listening, but I cant focus my eyes anymore. What does mother expect from me after she got me drunk and then spun me around like that? It’s a miracle I haven't already puked at this point. Mother drops her water and I fall on the ground, but I cant even get up because everything spinning. The last thing I saw is five Munin's looking down at me before I passed out.
