Chapter 38
Narrator
The Lemuria Kingdom was currently a complete mess of chaos and fear. The people were in fear because their peaceful lives were now being threatened by two kingdoms that had no past grudges. Many nobility and commoners were wondering why this was happening to them and why was there two enemies on opposite sides attacking. Many were joining the army immediately just so they could protect their families while others were packing their things because they see no hope in this situation. The Lemuria Kingdom has been good to them for all their lives, but a bleak situation has shown the true character of some of these people.
The kingdom's armies were split in two and sent to opposite directions to oppose the invading armies who threaten their peaceful lives. Both armies were led by royalty themselves to give moral to the soldiers and to personal protect their homes. The king Christen Lemuria was leading an army to confront the Anerris Kingdom army while George Lemuria the prince is leading an army of equal size to confront the dwarven kingdoms army.
George Lemuria can be considered young but he has been trained and taught since he was a child to be a leader. He used to be known as a very arrogant and cold person. He did change when he challenged his younger sister to a duel and lost to her before she disappeared. After his teacher disappeared his attitude took a turn and he became calmer and wouldn't aggressively fight anyone that got in his way. The only problem is he still seems completely cold to his sister who defeated him and anytime her name is brought up he would lose control of his temper.
This was the first real act of being a prince beside speaking with some nobles occasionally, but those talks were always about small things and never any serious political issues. Today he did have several officials supporting him in leading the army but he would have the final say in any matter. He was feeling proud, but at the same time nervous because he had realized that he has an entire armies life in his hands. If he fails today it wouldn't be a mistake he can make up for another day because his kingdom would fall.
As the army moved forward they finally spotted their enemy in the distance. The dwarven army was a little bigger than the Lemuria Kingdoms army and they were prepared for this war and are here to attack. The Lemuria Kingdom was quick to respond, but the people weren't mentally prepared. They did not except a war like this to happen when they signed up for the army, but now they are here to protect their homes.
The dwarves are banging their weapons and shields together while shouting as they get into their attack formations. The Lemuria army has a more solemn air around them as they get in their own formation. Both sides line up and stare each other down as a psychological pre-battle. Finally, Prince George rides his horse forward followed by two soldiers on horses carrying boxes.
“Soldiers of Lemuria! Listen to me as I tell you why we are here today! We are here for no other reason to protect our homes! You may think that I as a member of the royal family does not have the same feeling as you, but you would be wrong! This kingdom is where my family is, where I was raised, and where my people, you, are! Today for no reason and no notice this army of dwarves are here to attack us. They make no demands and say no other words but “war”! We will not just let them trample on our home! We will defend our home and drive off these war maniacs! Are you with me soldiers of Lemuria?!” George
After Prince George finished his speech he turned his horse around to face the opposing army and then he lifts his hand up. The boxes on the horses beside him burst open and dozens of blades explode outwards. They all look the same with a triangular shape and a handle in the blade. The all float above the prince and then he throws his hand forward and as the signal for the war to start his blades lead the Lemuria kingdom forward. The dwarves do not stay idle as they lock shields and march forward as well.
The first to be hit is the frontline of dwarves as Prince Georges blades kill dozen instantly by hitting the gaps in their enchanted armor or piercing right through. The blades instantly fly back to George as if attached to a string before they fly forward again to kill dozens more. The dwarven mages step forward and make stone walls pierce through the ground with small gaps in the walls where fire mages launch waves of flames out but the human mages throw up waves of water that extinguishes the flames and destroys the walls of stone. After the first strategy fails the dwarven mages simply resort to throwing random spells at the humans and the human mages do the same.
Soon there is total chaos with humans and dwarves killing each other. The armies group attacks have simply become fights of one versus one or few versus few. Prince George stands on his horse back before leaping into the air where he lands on one of his blades that slowly starts to fall with him on it, but he simply runs from blade to blade until he is at the center of the battle where he dumps down followed by his blades. His fist hits the ground and the ground trembles as cracks appear and all those around him lose their balance. He takes his opportunity when everyone is trying to get they're footing to quickly bring his blades down on the unprepared dwarves. Prince George then grabs one of his blades out of the air and dashes at another dwarf to attack. The soldiers of Lemuria seeing their kingdoms Prince fight right on the front line gives them the moral boost they needed and they charge forward with him.
As the dwarven frontline is almost completely broken up the second line of dwarves in black armor with heavier enchantments move forward. They do not have any war chants or shouts of war. They instead move towards the Lemuria soldiers. Prince George sends his blades towards the approaching second line, but his blades either bounce off of their armor or they stick in without penetrating through. Prince George is shocked for a second until he raises his hand and his blades fly back above him. His blades than interlock at their ends forming what looks like windmills as they slowly start to rotate. They soon reach speeds where they cut through the air loud enough that everyone can hear and then Prince George throws his hand forward. The windmills fly forwards at the same speed as before but instead of bouncing off the soldiers they cut right through and then the windmills flying the ground, but they do not get stuck. The windmills cut through the ground as if it was the air and then they fly right back to the Prince after passing though some more armored dwarves. The Lemuria soldiers cheer for their powerful Prince as they keep charging forwards themselves.

The dwarves were about to lose some moral until one of the windmills that were about to cut a soldier in half was completely stoped before the blades burst apart in an explosion of wind. The soldiers look up to see one of the dwarven elites flying above them with his wind magic. He wears light armor and only has a single rapier. He looks at the Lemuria Kingdoms Prince and then charges at him. He didn't expect the Prince's blades to create a shield and block his attack, but he quickly flies back as windmills pass where he was. He lands on the ground but hands made of earth spring up on both sides of him and try to grab at him, but he just flies straight up. The hands slam together and then explode in a cloud of dust. The dwarven elite tries to blow away the dust, but before he finishes a blade pierces his shoulder. He reaches behind him to pull out the blade but realizes it has barbs on the end like an arrow. He feels a pull from it and then sees that he is being pulled towards the Lemuria Prince as if he's a fish. Then dozens of blades fly at him and before he can erect a shield they pierce between his defenses. He is still alive as he falls towards the ground until a windmill comes from the side and cuts him cleanly in half.
The dwarves watch as one of their few elites was so easily killed before he could even take out more than a few human soldiers. Their moral instantly takes some damage, but they keep charging forward with their brothers to fight the humans. Until the next elite shows up.
Prince George looks at the fallen dwarf and takes a breath as he pulls all his blades back towards him and then has them surround him as he grabs one of them to attack while he waits for his mana to build back up. The soldiers see their prince keep fighting even while exhausted and they keep moving forward. The Lemuria soldiers feel hope in this battle and keep charging forwards even as clouds appear overhead and start to darken the sky.
While the Lemuria soldiers charge forward a wave of flames rushes at the fighting soldiers killing both human and dwarves and then a wave of water washes the dead and ash away. Two dwarves in matching robes are walking forward with angry expressions as they look at the human soldiers in front of them. They are two more elites that have come to the frontline to help the dying soldiers. They are not brothers but get along well enough that one would assume they are. They both create a ball of their respected element, which is fire and water before they slam them together creating an explosion of steam that slowly covers the area around them. No one can see inside except an occasional flash of flames, but they can hear the screams from the soldiers inside the area. Soon some mages gather together to use wind magic to blow away the steam to reveal their comrades either burned to a crisp or cut in half. The Lemuria soldiers know they cant depend on their Prince for everything so the use a combined assault to try and kill these dwarven elites.
On the other side of the battlefield, a Lemuria General is confronting another dwarven elite. Their fight doesn't seem to go anywhere, but all who come close to their fight are killed from the collateral damage. Both warriors are specialized in using mana with their swords instead of their elements and are crossing blades with enough force to destroy buildings. Mana edges are being thrown all around killing friend and allies alike. They both know the damage they're doing, but they cannot let up or they will give their opponent the opportunity to attack.
George has been slowly fighting his own battle as he keeps taking out one dwarven soldier after another. He just keeps killing and slowly his feeling towards these deaths get pushed further and further to the back of his mind. A while ago he had killed some criminals to know what it is like to kill so it is not his first time killing, but it is a first seeing a battle filled with so much death and blood. The fights around him are incredibly gruesome as there is no easy death here. He watches as his soldiers attack some dwarves only for the weaker attacks to fail to get through their enchantments and the attacker is killed by the dwarves. He can't even tell who is winning this war battle because the ground seems to be filled equally with both dwarven bodies and human bodies. George rushes to kill another dwarf when his senses tell him to jump back as a spear of ice stabs into the ground where he was.
George looks and sees a female dwarf with an almost mad look charging towards him while swinging her arms wildly to throw more spears of ice his way. George throws his hand behind him and feels his mana grasp his blades as he throughs his hand forward. His blades shoot forward to intercept all the ice spears, but every blade that touches the ice begins to frost over and falls to the ground. George takes the blade in his hand and then grabs another out of the air before he charges the dwarven ice mage. She has a mad smirk on her face as she runs forward. She takes a step, but she stops and jumps to the side as a stone spike explodes upwards where she was and she moves forward dodging more spikes. She stops and then slams her hands on the ground and a thick layer of ice covers the ground. George knows he can break through the ice, but it is not worth the mana it would cost so he charges forward without wasting mana. George finally reaches the dwarven ice mage and swings one of his blades right down on her with a mana edge and then horizontally attacks with the other. The woman creates swords of ice and intercepts them. Instead of breaking like George thought, the ice swords hold up to his own blades. Georges blades quickly start to frost over and he can feel the biting cold headed towards his hands so he releases them and jumps back. The woman laughs as she charges George and throws a punch towards his gut. It wasn't even close to landing until George felt a pain in the back of his leg that makes him stop. The ice mages attack lands in Georges gut and he falls back while grabbing the ice spike in his leg.
The second Georges back touched the ground he felt his back start to go numb and realized his armor was freezing to the ground. The dwarven woman then jumped on top of George straddling him as she drove two ice swords into his shoulders. George only grunts from the pain and the ice mage laughs even more hysterically. She forms an ice dagger and then raises it over her head to stab it into Georges.
As soon as she motions to bring the ice dagger down there's a loud roar in the sky and then a rumbling. Afterward, there's a terrifying pressure that covers almost the entire battlefield. There almost a blanket of darkness that starts to fall over everyone as the feel them selves being pressed by the pressure. Both human and dwarves feel fear as they look up and see a bolt of black lighting racing through the clouds. No one knows what this pressure is except George. He knows what is creating this pressure because it is the target of his hate and fear. Something that he has always tried to surpass but always seemed to fail. The ice mage seems to notice Georges shaking as she looks back down at him only to see his face filled with a weird mixture of anger and fear. She looks back up just in time to see the black lighting stop above her position and then shoot straight down. It crashes into the ground beside her and George blowing them both away. Whats now standing where the lighting hit is a beautiful woman, but she is also one of the most terrifying things both armies had ever seen. She had ominous black hair and eyes and was holding a weapon that looked like it was meant for killing everyone here. She seemed to only have one arm, but no one could underestimate someone that could put out so much pressure. Then everyone notices on her shoulder is a crow the symbol of death and everyone no matter what strength or age feels fear from her.
Eva looks around and spots where her brother landed and then spots the woman that was straddling him earlier. She raises her halberd and forms a destruction edge before bringing her halberd down. The woman is on her knees trying to get up, but sensing the danger she slams her hands on the ground to create an ice shield, but it's completely blown away without putting up much resistance. She takes damage from the attack but she's still alive to see Eva, that was far away from her, appear instantly next to her and cut her head off. Eva then looks at her brother and smirks under her mask.
“Sorry, brother I killed your girlfriend. You can just add it to the list of reasons you hate me. Hahahahaha!”
“Squawk!”
Some thought Eva’s laugh was one of the most beautiful things they ever heard. While other felt it was the laugh of a mad goddess enjoying the blood of her enemies on her weapon. The one thing everyone could agree on was that Eva’s appearance can be considered a historical point in today's war.
