Boracay Island is the most popular beach destination in the Philippines. The sand, the water, the people—everyone loves to escape there, whether they’re locals or tourists from other countries. But then something mysterious happened. The President of the Philippines announced that the island would be closed to tourists. No one could enter, nor could anyone leave. No one knew what happened to the locals who lived there. The country faced a huge backlash, but after just a month, the news stopped—no more updates, no more questions. It was as if nothing had ever happened. No one spoke of it, and no one knew what had happened to the island.
Two years later, a video began circulating online. It quickly gained traction, sparking shock and confusion. Articles and theories flooded the internet, but just a week later, the video was blocked. Anyone who tried to share it offline reported strange incidents: late at night, the video would be taken from their devices without a trace. But nothing else was stolen—not money, not valuables—only the video.
In the video, a man in a white PPE suit appeared. He paced back and forth, clearly distressed. He removed his headgear and sat down in front of the camera, his face filled with fear. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he wiped it away.
From his features, it was clear he wasn’t Filipino. He was American, with brown hair and blue eyes, likely in his thirties.
“Okay, okay,” he muttered, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. “I… oh my God.” He swallowed hard and tried to steady himself. Then he glanced nervously to his left, as though something terrifying were there.
“I—I’m James. I work for the WIC Company. We’re the leading company in developing medicinal drugs. I’m a scientist—pharmaceutical, to be exact. We were working on a cure for cancer.” He ran his hand through his hair, glancing down before looking back at the camera, his eyes filled with tears. “I—I don’t know… I don’t know if I’m going to make it out of here alive,” he said, his voice breaking.
James could barely speak, his words trembling with fear. He stopped and looked left again, his expression shifting as if something was approaching him. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself.
“This place… this place is a total mess,” James continued, his voice faltering. “Everything—everyone—is gone now. We couldn’t do anything. We tried, but we failed. They left us here… they left us to die!” He broke down, sobbing.

“Okay… okay.” James was startled by a loud thud in the distance. His terror only deepened. “Okay,” he repeated, struggling to control his shaking voice. “We were working on a cure… a cancer cure. Everything was going well. We made the cure, tested it on animals—it worked. We tested it on humans—it worked. There was this local woman, a cancer patient… she had cancer in her stomach—”
He stopped mid-sentence, a loud thud interrupting him. His body trembled as he turned to look, camera in hand. He walked cautiously toward the door, pressing his ear to it as if listening. Another thud sounded, causing him to jump.
“Help! Help!” A scream echoed from the other side of the door.
James sobbed again, his voice breaking. He walked away from the door, camera still in hand, and turned it toward himself.
“Ahh!” He screamed, his face contorted in panic. “They’re all dead! Everyone’s dead!” His voice became desperate. “But I have to tell you this. I’m sorry. Please, evacuate. Go to an island where there are no people. Take your families, stock up on food. This is it. The world is going to end because of us!” He dropped the camera to his side and grabbed his hair. “The cure—it worked! She lived! We stopped it, we made a vaccine for it. But… this is happening now. I don’t know how to stop it.”
James picked up the camera again and looked into it, his eyes wide with terror. “It was them. They wanted to bring it to the city, but we didn’t allow it. I knew it!” He shouted.
Then, just as he shouted, a loud thump sounded from outside.
James froze, his heart racing. He dropped the camera to his side and stood up, glancing around frantically. He grabbed something from the table. It was a gun. His hand shook uncontrollably as he raised it. Each new thud made him flinch.
“To my wife, my mother… I’m so sorry if I let this happen. Please be safe.” He stopped, his eyes fixed ahead of him, listening intently. The thumping continued, followed by scratching sounds on the walls, as though something—or someone—was trying to break in.
“They’re here,” James muttered, his voice quivering. He cocked the gun, his hand nearly dropping it due to his shaking. The thumping grew louder, and then the sound of something breaking followed.
James jumped, pointing his gun in the direction of the noise.
“You evil monsters! I’ll kill you all!” he shouted. Then, with shaking hands, he fired the gun. A loud growl echoed through the room, followed by heavy footsteps approaching.
James began to cry again, his voice pleading. “I’ll kill you! I’ll—Ahh!” His words were cut off as something reached him. He collapsed to the floor, struggling, as five figures attacked him. One bit into his hand, another into his neck. They tore into him, feasting on his flesh.
The video cuts off abruptly, plunging into darkness.
