Chapter 5 - Visitor
They have arrived in the town of Cole safely. Although… not in great terms..
“....”
They were all in silence, none even decided to speak. As they dropped off their items at the small shop, Hazu paid Zikito and Arkon.Hazu spoke with a subtle anger, he was still recovering from Arkon’s hits.
“Go away you insane man-.”
“Just when I gave you a passing grade?!”
“I-I-I HIRED YOU TO PROTECT ME! NOT BEAT ME UP!”
“Didn’t you want to teach my son a thing or two?”
“FOR WHAT?”
“Heh, we’ll take our leave then, thanks brat.”
“W-WAIT YOU MANIAC.”
Arkon walked away with Zikito by his side. Zikito’s face was worried as he looked at Hazu.
“UGH, fine! I’ll do a short visit!”
“I thought you would.”
“Just for the kid! He has potential!”
“Yeah yeah, quit yapping brat.”
“URGH….”
As they walked to Arkon’s house, they met the family working at the farm as usual. However, Arkon’s expression changed as Maria greeted him.
“Welcome back hone-.”
“Yeah, Maria. This man is injured, fix him quick.”
“A-alright dear… the kids have finished plowing the fields….”
“Yeah, yeah. Hurry up.”
Maria immediately approached Hazu. Hazu still looked beat-up, but not that bad. He was recovering.
“I’m Arkon’s wife.. Maria… Where are you hurt?”
“That insane man… I mean… it’s nothing big of a deal…”
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“Come inside our house, and you too Zikito…”
Maria couldn’t hold back as she hugged Zikito the moment Arkon went away from sight.
“I was worried…”
“It’s alright, ma…”
“That’s great.. Let’s head inside now.”
“Perhaps I might have worried you too much, ma.”
They all went inside the house and sat by the table. It was quite silent at first.
“H-hello! I’m Hazu! I came by to visit Zikito to teach him a thing or two!”
“Don’t be too tense, brat. You’re doing me a favor.”
Hazu stared at Arkon with a glimpse of anger as he recalled the earlier fight.
“Woah-... thank you Hazu-san… We’re glad that Zikito has a teacher…”
Above all, the table was still empty. Where were Zikito’s siblings!? It’s just them four at the table.
“I happen to live near the town of Cole, so I figured I could teach the kid-.”
“Maria, bring some rum from the back.” Arkon interrupted as he sat slyly with his seat reclined.
“W-will do!”
Maria stood up and hurried to the back to get some rum, the three of them were left at the table again.
“Brat, how about this? We’ll help you with your carriages in exchange for teaching ZIkito magic. BUT, you still have to pay us.”
“Why the hell do I need to hire barbarians like you? I just want to teach the kid in my free time.”
“Ehhhhhhhh? Well then brat, just teach sonnie a thing or two.”
“Alright-?” Hazu raised an eyebrow.
Maria returned with four mugs of rum, the usual Arkon’s favorite.
“Want some, brat?”
“I don’t drink, put that away!”
“Hahahaa! Even my son drinks rum! You’re not a man if you don’t!”
“It was just a taste-.” Zikito clarified with hesitation.
“Nah, you all have one.”
Arkon insisted as he pushed the mugs of rum towards all of them.
“You twisted man.”
“B-but dad-!?”
“Dear.. I’m not sure about Ziki-.”
Amidst all of their complaints, Arkon slammed the table.
“I don’t like having a disorder in my house, be grateful. You twigs.”
“S-sorry honey…”
Zikito drank reluctantly, while Maria just took a chug. Arkon stared at Hazu- a seeming “friendly” stare.
“You’re really a twisted man-.”
Hazu joined the three of them in their small drink. They all finished each of their mugs, with Arkon even having more.
“Me and Maria will talk, you brats can go out.”
Arkon escorted Maria towards their bedroom without even elaborating further.
“Wait what-.” Hazu stood, confused.
Now left with just the two of them, Zikito and Hazu stood in awkward silence.
“So…. should we begin-?
