Chapter 7: The Manifestation – Part 3 (Final)

The beach felt like a dream. The sky, tinged with orange and pink, reflected in the waves that gently broke, creating a spectacle of colors that seemed to have been painted just for us. The sun was beginning to set, and everything around us had a lightness, as if time had slowed down just to let us savor that moment. The sound of the waves and the gentle breeze formed the perfect soundtrack for that unique moment. We sat on the sand, our feet buried in the cold sand, and the silence stretched for a few seconds, as if even the world was giving us space to feel.

I looked at Melissa. Her eyes were fixed on the horizon, but there was something in her gaze, a calmness, as if she were absorbing everything around her, as if each piece of that scene reflected everything we had been through. She smiled softly, and I knew, in that moment, that I was losing something I would never find again.

"Do you remember the last time we were here?" I asked, my voice low, almost a whisper, but full of meaning.

She looked at me, and her eyes sparkled. Her smile widened, deeper than anything I had ever seen.

"How could I forget? The sea was as calm as our hearts," she replied, and her voice seemed to carry a nostalgia that touched me deeply.

Those words fit perfectly into the emptiness I felt inside. But, in that moment, something inside me broke. The desire to be with her, to hold onto this moment with all the strength I had, was greater than anything else. I leaned in slowly, as if time had slowed even further, and with a soft touch, I kissed her.

The moment was magical, as if the universe had conspired to create something perfect. The kiss was more than just a touch of lips. It was full of everything we felt, everything we had lived. It was a mix of love, longing, and immense passion, as if we were trying, without words, to keep that instant inside us so it would never be lost.

The breeze now felt softer, as if the air itself embraced us with affection. I pulled her closer, as if I could no longer live without her, as if, for a moment, reality could disappear, leaving just the two of us, without worries, without pressures, just existing together.

The feeling of her arms around me, the warmth of her body, the softness of her skin... everything was perfect. Nothing else mattered except that connection. I felt like I could stay there forever, in those hours that floated as if time had stopped.

But, unfortunately, good things don’t last forever. The sky began to change, the clouds forming with terrifying speed. The wind, which had been refreshing, began to gain strength. The sea, which had been calm, now churned its waves violently. The sound of thunder cut through the silence, a noise so loud it seemed to tear the sky, and in an instant, everything around us changed.

Melissa looked at me, her smile fading from her face, and I saw the fear in her eyes.

"Zarte, what’s happening?" she asked, her voice barely audible against the growing roar of the storm.

Before I could respond, the wind picked up even more, causing the sea waves to rise like giants ready to swallow everything. I looked at her, feeling panic take hold of me. But something inside me refused to give up. I had to keep her safe.

"We need to get out of here, Melissa!" I shouted, but my voice was drowned out by the sound of the wind. "Now!"

She tried to get up, but the pressure in the air was unbearable. Her face contorted in pain, and she clung to me, seeking support.

"Zarte... I can't... I can't..." she said, her breath short, each word coming out with difficulty.

I knew time was against us. But for a moment, I hesitated. I looked at her, her eyes that had once been full of life now covered with fear that tore me apart. I pulled her closer, desperation taking over me.

"Stay with me, Melissa. No matter what happens, we'll get through this. I won’t leave you," I whispered, the words more a vow than a promise.

The storm grew with a force that seemed inhuman. The waves crashed violently against the shore, and the wind dragged me, making each step more difficult. But it didn’t matter. I carried her, I took her with me, running, stumbling, but never stopping.

However, the force of the storm knocked us down. We fell to the sand, and the sound of the waves and wind seemed to merge into a single scream of agony. I looked at her, my heart beating wildly.

"Melissa, are you okay?" I asked, panic overflowing in my voice.

But she didn’t answer right away. What little strength we had left was draining away, and the only sound we could hear was the crash of thunder followed by the violent waves. I pulled her to me, trying to protect her.

There was no way out anymore. The storm had swallowed us. The end was so near it was impossible to ignore.

But before everything was lost, I held her with all the strength I had left, looking into her eyes for the last time. There were no more words, just the silent understanding that, for a moment, we had been complete. Even though the end was upon us, that instant would never be erased.
