Chapter 11: Darkness
The scholar looking boy was narrowing his eyes, while emitting killing intent at me. Combined with his looks I swear it feels like death itself is standing before me.
“I won’t repeat my question a third time, Who Are You?”
With that, the dark fluid started to gather around his two hands forming long sharp claws that seem to suck in all light. After the claws were formed, no longer did the black fluid move, but instead it hardened. After the claws, the same fluid started to cover his whole body, turning into a black set of armour that emit an aura of death.
At the same time, darkness starts to slowly rise all around the three of us, creating a space with just the three of us.
“My name is Sei and this is Yuiitsu.”
“And what are you two doing here?”
“We were chased here by that messed up girl? I mean seriously, who attacks a person they’ve never met with a rapier!”
“No I don’t mean in this garden.”
“Oh, I’m a new student here, nice to meet you.”
With a kind smile I seriously hope he doesn’t attack me. I mean weird black fluid + big dark claws = bad idea to mess with. I’d say that’s a pretty easy to understand equation.
“Enough of your jokes, I mean why’re you in this world?”
This world? I doubt he would like the joke about ‘When a man and woman are deeply in love with each other’…
“A goddess sent us here.”
“A goddess huh? Tell me, what is her name.” Slowly narrowing his eyes further, the boy got into fighting stance.
“Ughhhh, her name?”
“Yes, What Is Her Name?” Slowly saying one word at a time, I could feel the tension rising.
But in all honesty, I forgot. Or did she even tell her name to me? Wait a sec, did I even ask?
Wow, agreeing to the request of a random stranger without even knowing their name… I must be a genius…
“I don’t know?”
“And what did she send you two here to do?”
“She sent us here to guard the gate linking the two worlds at the bottom of the Dungeon of Origin.”
“And the two of you are all the way out here, in the middle of this academy becoming students instead of doing your job huh? If you’re going to tell a lie at least make it believable.”
After that, he immediately dashes at us,
“But it’s true!”
Without listening at all, he swipes his claws at both of us at once. I jumped back in order to avoid it, but just when I thought I avoided it, the claws shot off a black slash hitting both of our bodies at the same time knocking us back.
Slowly we got up from the ground, but the shadow guy did not follow up. He just stood there staring at us.
“…what…”
Watching us get up, I could clearly see his eyes getting wider and wider.
“What the hell are you two!?”
I’d like to say the same to you. What kind of creature has those type of wings and hair god dammit, I haven’t even heard of anything like him in light novels!

You know, I kind of expected better from a guy who looks like a mid or final boss type of character…
Just as I was about to take out my weapons from my inventory, I noticed something weird from the edge of my vision.

That did not happen in the game…
From Sei, white fluids oozed out of the slash across her body, and from Yuiitsu, black fluid oozed out instead of blood.
Looking at my status, there wasn’t any debuffs, so I had no idea what this thing was either and as I watched, the cut across the body started to close itself up.
Standing here isn’t going to get me anywhere, so
I decided to take advantage of the dazed enemy and quickly equipped the combat gear that I removed, which left him in a bigger daze.
“You… you two are angels!?”
Wait what?
“Those wings, the white wings of an angel and the black wings of a fallen, there’s no mistake.”
“Sorry, but we’re not angels or fallen, we’re balancers.”
“Wha?”
Guess there’re no balancers in this world? Weird, they were a pretty popular class in the game. The fire and water balancer which has one body fighting like a berserk, while the other healing him from behind. The earth and wind balancer, which has a strong tank with an fast archer supporting him. And lastly, the light and dark balancer, which has one negating attacks, while the other one has controlling abilities.
Although they were a popular class, people did suck playing them, since you had to control two bodies which takes skill. But those that master it are really strong, since they take two rolls with one character, but the stats are linked, so the player has to make either one strong and the other weak or both average. In the case where they make one strong and the other weak, the enemy can just focus on attacking the weak one, since the health and mana is linked.
Oh right, I’m no longer a balancer, now the job’s changed to something called a balance god? Wonder what new skills I get.
“fu, fua… It matters not what you are, all that matters is you aren’t supposed to be in this world, so either leave quietly, or we will be forced to kill you.”
“Why am I not supposed to be in this world though?”
“We the low and mid gods watch over the people, and a few days ago, the power of a being above S rank appeared in this world in a pillar of light. It did not match any of the beings we knew of, so of course we thought it was the new high god that appeared.
