Chapter 917 Guilty conscience

CHAPTER 917 GUILTY CONSCIENCE

Spencer threw his phone away because of guilty conscience. Besides, normally no people would be in

the room at night. He kind of believed in supernatural beings and thought he was exposed when seeing

Maximilian.

“What are you doing here?” Maximilian stared at him with a weird expression and began to suspect

him.

Thanks to his good hearing to find someone was searching around his apartment deep at night. If were

others, they would leave him doing this sneaky thing without even noticing it.

However, the villain was the first to sue. Spencer blamed, “My things have dropped. I’m only here to

search for it. Well, you’d better tell me first before you appear silently beside me. You almost scare me

to death.”

Maximilian replied with a smile, “You can look for it tomorrow. I have to go to the bathroom.”

Spencer tried to cover this thing and said, “Well, aren’t you having kidney problem?”

Maximilian didn’t reply him just kept looking Spencer up and down. The truth was that he had found

Spencer was playing tricks, only wanting to find out what exactly he wanted to do.

He was not in a good relation with Spencer when he was in primary school. However, Spencerwas the

first in the primary who came to find him and suggested to sleep in his house.

Additionally, Spencer tried hard to make him drunk these days, making him think things were not so

simple as he imagined. Spencer was coming for him for a reason.

Maximilian was really disappointed at his friend.

However, Spencer thought Maximilian trusted him, petted on his chest silently and thought highly of

himself.

He believed he was good at lying and went back to his room in case Maximilian found something was

wrong.

Maximilian didn’t hear anything when he got back to his room.

After getting up, Maximilian made them breakfast, including Spencer.

Spencer went for jogging after finishing the breakfast and suddenly grabbed out a watch from pocket,

saying, “Here. I have spent a night in your room and could only use this to express my thanks.”

“Well, you don’t need to.” Maximilian waved hands. Although it was a good watch, he knew he could

easily take others’ belongings.

However, Spencer replied, “Never mind. You must take it, otherwise, I won’t feel good.”

Maximilian didn’t know how to reject him and could only accept it.

“How much is this watch?” Maximilian asked curiously.

Actually, he didn’t much about watch and wondered why did Spencer willing to give it to him.

“My parents give it to me and I always regard it as a memory. However, I don’t need it now because

you are the only person who shows me kindness in my most difficult time. You can have it for free.”

Spencer was describing himself in a really awkward situation and most people would feel sorry for him

when hearing this.

Maximilian curled the lip and wondered why Spencer was trying his hard to make him sympathized.

Perhaps he would get in his trap if he didn’t find what Spencer was doing last night.

However, now he could tell Spencer was acting.

“It’s really a valuable thing. Are you sure you want give it to me?” Maximilian asked. He thought

Spencer should keep the watch to himself if it really meant a lot to him.

Spencer nodded, “Yes, I have made up my mind. I regard you as my brother from today. What I own is

also your thing.”

Maximilian knew something was wrong and nodded.

Spencer hurriedly pretended a smile when seeing Maximilian agreed, “Brother, do you also have

something to give me?”

“No, nothing.” Maximilian shook his head and ignored him.

Spencer was surprised and sighed, “Well, I treat you as my brother but you don’t even treat me as a

friend. How could you do such a thing to me?”

Maximilian rolled back his eyes when hearing this. What did he mean by asking him for a gift? Was he

trying to swap things with him?

Maximilian frowned and replied, “I don’t have anything to give you.”

“Like antiques or something. It doesn’t have to be of a high value. I just want to memorize our : owner of this content.

friendship.” Spencer couldn’t help hinting him and almost spoiled the secret about dragon key.

Maximilian finally raised up his head and looked at him. Now he understood what did Spencer want. He

squinted his eyes and said, “I see. I don’t have such thing.”

“What do you mean, brother? I don’t ask anything from you.” Spencer found Maximilian begin to

suspect him and pretended to be innocent.

Maximilian smiled, “Are you trying to get some news about the dragon key? Well, I really don’t know

where is it?”

To be honest, if Maximilian really owned the key, he would definitely keep it well or directly found the

treasury to open it, instead of keeping it in his pocket all the time.

Maximilian also didn’t have any clue about the dragon key and there was no need for him to keep it on

himself.

Anyway, keeping the key and opening the treasury both threaten him, so why not simply opened it?

Spencer trembled when hearing this and felt extremely unexpected for Maximilian’s answer. He

couldn’t believe what happened was true if Maximilian didn’t tell him in person.

He never thought everything went beyond his imagination. He always thought Maximilian didn’t find out

his tricks. Now it turned out Maximilian always knew his thinking.

“Well, how did you find out?” Spencer forced a bitter smile, wishing his lies wouldn’t be found out so

early.

Maximilian shook his head and said, “I am really disappointed at you. I can pretend nothing happens.

Please leave here as quick as you can.”

“Please, please don’t drive me out. I will be dead if you do so.” Spencer became anxious. Cold sweet

suddenly dropped from his back.

Maximilian looked at him curiously and thought he was lying again. However, he noticed there was a

flicker of sincere passed over Spencer’s eyes.

He finally knew Spencer didn’t tell him a lie. He frowned and asked, “Why would you be dead?”

Spencer told him the truth, “They say they won’t let me go if I can’t complete the mission.”
