Chapter 1 - Confess to a Yandere

Chapter 1 - Confess to a Yandere

Rule number 1.

Confess to a yandere.

Apologies to anyone that is currently confused reading this.

This is a yandere survival guide -- of what not to do.

However, this story will act as a proper yandere survival guide as well, if you do the complete opposite of everything that I had done.

Running with jagged breaths alone in the empty school hallways, I heard a spine-chilling voice calling out to me from behind.

"Naosukeee-kunnnn~~!"

I glanced back to see a girl in school uniform with long blonde hair and a cheery smile on her face chasing me.

Not so frightening.

Except for the giant kitchen knife she was flailing around in the air.

"Wheeree are you goiinngg?" She sang, and I turned my eyes back forward, running even faster than before.

So at this point, you're probably already wondering how I messed up this badly.

How the hell did I managed to break the number 1 cardinal rule in the yandere survival guide?

It's a simple story really...

----------------------------------------

"Ishimoto-kun,"

The teacher's voice called out to me from the front of the classroom, and I raised my eyes from my notepad, glancing up at him, "Yes, Ehara-sensei?"

"Could you please solve the question on the board?" Ehara-sensei asked.

I glanced to the board, seeing a maths question scribbled there that I didn't have the faintest clue on how to solve.

The whole classroom was watching me, waiting for my response.

"Sensei, I don't know the answer." I said, and stiffled giggles went around the classroom.

Ehara-sensei sighed, crossing his arms, but he didn't seem to care about the laughter coming from the class.

"Ishimoto-kun..." Ehara-sensei said, and I prepared myself for another one of his tirades.

Before Ehara-sensei could continue however, a hand in the front of the classroom rose up.

"Sensei, please, allow me," The owner of the hand said.

Ehara-sensei glanced down at the student, a look of surprise crossing his face, "Kawano-san..."

The girl rose up from her chair, her long blonde hair falling past her shoulders as she strolled over to the board.

The whole classroom watched in silence as she diligently wrote down the solution to the question on the board with ease.

She placed the marker back down on the board and turned around.

A pretty face, round scarlet eyes with long dark eyelashes, and a smile that was as radiant as an angel.

Our eyes caught for a second, and butterflies flew in my stomach.

The whole classroom stared in awe at her beauty.

Even Ehara-sensei took a few seconds, before he coughed, "That's completely perfect, Kawano-san."

"Thank you, sensei!" Kawano said with a smile, doing a small graceful bow before heading back to her seat.

As she was about to sit down, Kawano glanced over at me with her striking scarlet eyes and secretly smiled.

No one in the classroom noticed as everyone was too busy whispering to one another.

"Kawano-san is so pretty...!"

"And, she's so polite as well...!"

"I heard her father is a director at a multinational company so she's had a really traditional upbringing...!"

Ehara-sensei glanced around the classroom, sighing, "That's enough now. Anyways, moving on to the next chapter..."

You see, I didn't stood a chance.

"I like you so please go out with me!"

I bowed my head and waited for her response.

It was after school and most of the students had already left the school grounds to go home by this time.

I had left a note in Kawano's locker during lunch telling her to meet me behind the school building after school.

To my utmost surprise, she had actually came.

There was silence for a moment as I stood there with my head bowed waiting for her response.

Then suddenly, I felt her hands raise my face, she leaned into me and our lips met.

Her lips were feather soft, gliding over mine like rose petals and a pleasant scent of vanila and blossoms filled my nose, alluring my mind into oblivion.

She pulled her lips back after a while, her arms held around my back, and she leaned her head on my shoulder.

I was still delirious as to what was going on.

Things had just happened too fast for my brain to process.

It was as though I was intoxicated by her kiss.

"I love you, Ishimoto-kun..." Kawano whispered into my ear, "Promise me you'll never leave me."

"Yeah, of course..." I mumbled back, barely making sense of what she had just said.

Kawano giggled, hearing my words, then she said, "Can I call you Naosuke-kun...?"

I was still thinking about her previous words, but now it was three red flags in a row and the cogs in my brain were starting to spin again.

That's kind of weird.

I had only just confessed to her and she wanted to call me by my first name?

Before this, I had hardly ever even spoken to Kawano.

But of course, this was a yandere survival guide of what you shouldn't do.

"Y, yeah, no problem..." I replied.

"T, then, Naosuke-kun... you have to call me Saiki-chan." She said, smiling at me with a rosy blush on her cheeks.

The cogs in my head were gradually picking up speed, but were still far away from normal operations.

"Saiki-chan..." I said.

Hang on, did she say she loves me...?

"Yaay!" Saiki hugged me, before pulling away slightly to look me in the eyes again, "I've actually been waiting for so long for you to confess to me, Naosuke-kun! You don't know how hard I tried!"

"..."

Red flags were popping up everywhere, but I was still processing a few sentences behind.

"You know, if you didn't confess to me today, I was planning on doing something very drastic..."

Saiki reached behind her, pulling out a giant kitchen knife from nowhere.

"It's a good thing you did, huh?" Saiki smiled.

I didn't need any more flags to figure out what was going on.

I took one look at the knife, then pushed her away, sprinting away for my life.

----------------------------------------

I continued running along the school hallway, desperately looking for a teacher or anybody within the empty classrooms I passed.

"Naosuke-kunnn!"

Saiki was still chasing after me, but her voice was starting to sound less cheery and more sad with each time she called for me.

How could it be that there was not a single person inside the school?!

It felt like I was in some kind of a nightmare.

"Kawano-san, stay back!" I shouted behind me, "I made a mistake! I'm sorry! Please don't kill me!"

"W, what are you talking about...?!" Saiki called back to me, her voice confused, "I don't get what you're saying, Naosuke-kun!"

"The knife, you're planning to stab me with it, right!"

"What?! I would never--oww--!!"

A thud came from behind me, and I turned back, seeing Saiki face first on the floor.

I glanced in front of me at the staircase leading down to the exit.

Now's my chance!

Then, I heard sobbing coming from behind me and I turned back to Saiki, seeing her crying on the floor.

"W, why...?" Saiki sniffed, tears falling from her face and down to the ground, "W, why are you saying such horrible things about me, Naosuke kun...?"

I froze, staring at Saiki.

Then, I glanced at the staircase.

Then, I glanced back at Saiki.

She was still lying in same position after she fell, crying even harder now into the ground.

'How could I leave a girl lying on the ground like that?' was what I thought.

Then, I walked back over to Saiki hesitantly.

"U, um, Kawano-san..." I called out to her, standing a safe distance away.

She cried harder, covering her face on the ground with her arms.

I walked closer so that I was only a few steps away from her, "Kawano-san...?"

"W, why are you calling me that...?" Saiki sobbed, her voice muffled by her arms and her hair that was sprawled over her head, "Y, you said you would call me Saiki-chan...!"

"But, we haven't really talked to each other that much..." I laughed weakly, "Anyways, I just wanted to make sure that you're okay, so I'm going to go no--"

"I hurt myself when I fell..." Saiki said, "I don't think I can stand..."

"Seriously...?"

Saiki nodded her head even though it was facing the ground, "It really hurts, Naosuke-kun..."

"Where?" I tried to glance around her body from where I was standing.

"You have to come over here..."

"Where?"

"Closer..."

I moved closer, and suddenly, Saiki sprang up, wrapping her arms around me into a hug.

Oh shit.

I closed my eyes, cursing my stupidity, and prayed for a quick death.

It didn't come.

"You idiot, Naosuke kun...!" Saiki cried into my shoulder, "How could you leave me behind like that...!"

I felt her shoulders shaking as she cried.

She pulled away from me, and I opened my eyes, finding myself looking into her wet scarlet eyes.

"I wasn't planning on stabbing you, Naosuke-kun..." Saiki said, the kitchen knife was laying on the ground away from us, "I was saying that if you didn't confess to me today, that I was planning on making you lunch because I thought that would make you like me...!"

"I, is that it...?" I said.

She nodded with a frown, then wiped at her eyes with her hands, "I would never do anything to hurt you, Naosuke-kun..."

"Gee..." I laughed weakly, "I must had been overthinking it...!"

Saiki pulled me into a hug again, her head on my shoulder.

"I mean, after all I love you sooooo much," Saiki said, "How could I ever hurt someone that I love so much?"

"..."

"I will be with you forever, Naosuke-kun!" Saiki said in a happy tone, "I would never leave you! Even when we are old and married!"

"U, um, Kawano-san, can you let go of me now...?"

"Only if you call me Saiki-chan."

"S, Saiki-chan..."

Saiki pulled away from me, smiling into my face.

I stared back at her unsurely.

Rule number 1 of the yandere survival guide (what not to do).

Confess to a yandere.
