Song Huo finishes chanting the rune-words for {Wind Step} as soon as Bassel finishes his command to attack. He charges forward and hacks his sword towards the lizard. His acceleration makes the force of his sword swing much greater than normal. The sword is able to dislodge a few scales from the
Bassel who didn't suffer any injury from the earlier collision thanks to his {Steel Muscle} skill attacks right after Song Huo. With the {Steel Muscle} skill still in effect, he jumps and throws an uppercut towards the lizard's jaw.
The huge lizard once again growls in anger. It's angry at letting these small humans freely attack it. The numbing feeling it felt earlier because of the purple lightning is now gone. The
Seeing that both its targets managed to dodge, the lizard prepares to attack once again. The tail immediately swings towards Song Huo who is still in an unstable position after dodging the lizard's attack earlier. But, before the tail can hit Song Huo, the lizard senses another attack coming from the other side. Alex has quietly entered the normal mana-enhanced state and jumped towards the lizard with his katana. It hastily swings its tail the other way to meet with the katana coming towards it.
The tail and katana meet in the air. Due to his increased strength from the normal mana-enhanced state, Alex's attack causes a shallow wound on the lizard's tail. If he is using a better weapon than the F-ranked {Black-steel Katana} it might have caused a deeper wound.
The force from the swinging tail throws Alex into the air. He does a backflip and lands on the ground a few meters away. The lizard though cannot relax. This time two projectiles come from its rear side. One is a small black dagger and the other one is a small arrow glowing with purple light. They come from the left and right, so it's only possible to dodge one of them. The lizard quickly decides to dodge the familiar arrow that managed to penetrate its neck earlier and take the small unassuming dagger instead.
It only realizes its mistake after the dagger has penetrated its left back leg. The penetrated leg can't move from its place despite its effort to move the leg with all its strength. Carina has cast {Shadow Bind} on the dagger after Bassel told her to do it through the [Magic Chip].

It wants to raise its head and lets out a pained growl, but the dagger in its jaw won't let him do that. While it is still unable to move its head, Song Huo climbs on top of its head and hacks away at some scales to reveal the skull underneath. Soon, Bassel follows him to climb on top of its head and starts casting the {Flaming Punch}. He brings down his punch that is wrapped by flame. The punch collides with its exposed skull and causes an explosion. The lizard's body slumps to the ground and stops moving.
"Congratulations, you have killed the
"Ah... How come I only receive 10 credits? Isn't this less than the F-ranked 5-stars creatures?" Carina asks innocently after she receives the notification.
"Oh, right. I forgot to explain to both of you. If you kill this lizard by yourself without a party, you will earn 50 credits. But, since we are in a party of five, it was divided by 5 people and each person only gets 10 credits," Bassel explains to the two newbies.
"Oh... I see," Carina mumbles while nodding her head.
"Then, do all of the normal E-ranked 1-star creatures give 50 credits?" Alex asks another question he's curious about.
"No. The normal E-ranked 1-star creatures give out credits ranging from 50 to 100. As we want to let the two of you get used to battling in a party, we chose to head to this area that is the habitat of these
"What about the Elite creatures and the Boss creatures?"Alex asks one more question.
"The Elites give out between 250 and 750 credits, while the Bosses give out between 2,500 and 7,500 credits. We will start targeting the Elite creatures once our teamwork starts to get better. It will take too long to kill 500 Normal creatures, so us E-ranked Defenders usually set Elites as our target for ranking up as they also generally give us more credits. We will start with stronger Normal creatures and move on to the weak Elites. With our team of only 5 people, we shouldn't think about facing those Elites that give out more than 400 credits. And, if we detect a Boss creature, we should quickly run away as fast as we can," Song Huo gives a long explanation to answer Alex's question.
"Oh, alright," Alex nods his head.
"Okay. Let's rest here for a bit to recover our strength. We will head out after everyone has recovered and find another
