BACKSTORY:
Born on June 18, 2160, Akani was raised in Hawaii, USA with his family. His father Batake Kizuato, was a current ace high rank fighter of the WATA Military. His mother, Ellihisa Kizuato was a Falsean Immigrant and a current fighter of the WATA Military. His sister Ellie was also part of the war effort in defeating the enemy. Basically his whole family was in the military.
When Akani was born, he lived in the right time but in the wrong moment. It was the long high tension period where fighting had ceased but with the enemy unpredictable, no one knew. But during this time, they had the chance to live a normal family life, thinking that the war was over, and that tensions were just high and a cold war would be a result… that only lasted for 5 years. Invasion of Hawaii and other pacific and European countries had commenced and with the call to head back to action, Akani had to leave the family with his aunt to California, letting them fight back the enemy. News and reports of the war and letters and calls from his family kept Akani awake at night hoping they would come back, but contact slowly started to fade away. Years passed by and the war had concluded, but no calls or letters from anyone, except on that one day.
A man had knocked on the door of his aunt’s house, which he was residing in for a while. Akani was still in his room, doing his own thing until he heard the weeping and crying of his aunt. Peering out the door, he saw her kneeling on the floor crying as the letter was in her hand. He overheard him saying “I’m very sorry for your losses…” He had realized that some of his family weren’t coming back. Later that evening during dinner, his aunt talked to him about the death of his sister, and father. It was honestly a bad time for her to even start the conversation like that. The day of the funeral, he had seen his mother, which he felt angry, but doesn’t know why. The two tombstones that represent his two family members made him hurt. It was difficult for him.
This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
To make matters worse, his mother was now assigned a position in the council of the UFFE to be the Prime Minister and Coordinator. That meant living in Europe and away from home. The only mother figure, or any family left was his aunt, but that wasn’t even enough. Eventually she turned abusive, alcoholic, and a hard time to deal with. Eventually when his highschool career started, he managed to get a job and start living on his own. He was determined to get back onto his feet. Or at least he thought… A string of events would lead him to an unwanted invitation, or probably a forced one, to this academy
PERSONA/INSPIRATIONS:
Akani had lived a broken life, but yet tries to keep himself up and work his best, but it seems that no matter how much he tries, he achieves nothing. He grows more into a state to where he doesn’t know what to do anymore, about to give up. Later on he starts to accept his fate in which he had no other choice but to accept the offer.
Akani’s character design is heavily inspired by different characters. As this story is heavily anime inspired, these shows are that. One character inspiration is Arata from Trinity Seven, as the physique and style is mainly one of the similarities that I am trying to make, with the exception of the perviness and ego of Arata himself. Another character that is inspired heavily would be Benedict from Violet Evergarden. The only similarities that would be taken is his hairstyle, physique, and voice. Akani during this time was still about to turn 19, so trying to make him young but yet still a young adult was what I was trying to achieve.
OTHER NOTES:
At the beginning of the story, he was faced with hopelessness and no sense of direction. And with a broken past, despite his good physical being, was mentally weak. Decision making was now difficult, feeling that no matter what he tries, he always fails. When his encounters with the people happen, he is scared and skeptical of what they were doing. Unknowingly, this was a chance for him to know what he is, an open opportunity.
