I stared dumbly at the ongoing scene and watched as a police vehicle nearly crashed into the scene, an officer pulled out of the car and took out his gun while yelling something while other police vehicles, fire engines and ambulances zoomed by with their respective sirens blaring.
The situation quickly devolved as the taxi driver tossed the other bleeding driver like a ragdoll, and charged at the officer. With no other option the officer shot the taxi driver’s torso yet it did not even seem to slow down the taxi driver, the officer panicked as the aggressive taxi driver thrust his arm towards him.
*Bang* a shot rang out and drowned the loud street into silence as the pedestrians stared at the scene in shock. The aggressive taxi driver’s body slumped headfirst into the asphalt concrete, blood slowly spilling around his head.
I looked across police vehicle trying to locate the origin of the gunshot only to see his partner holding a gun, A new thought rapidly surfaced in my mind… am I infected, will I turn aggressive like that taxi driver?
*Bang Bang* I was quickly pulled out of my thoughts as I looked at the scene again, another of the taxi’s doors was opened, a new body spread on the street.
I began to panic and formulate new thoughts in my mind, The city was quarantined that means the military has probably secured the area around the city while the police spread out across their districts in order to keep order.
*Tring...Tring...Tring…* I was once again broken out of my thoughts by the sound of my apartment’s fire siren, The smell of smoke started filtering from under the my apartment’s door. I walked towards my door and opened it, peeking through I noticed the people from the nearby rooms and my neighbors running towards the emergency stairs as fire spewed from one rooms, the sprinklers turned on yet they only seemed to agitate the fire.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Looking towards my left my eyes briefly met with my next rooms neighbor Lisa Caraway, she sprinted towards me and held onto my shoulders, making me realize how sickly my posture was.
"Uriel! what's wrong!!? your face is as pale as a corpse!" she exclaims, her hand reaches towards my forehead.
When her hand touched my forehead I felt a plethora of emotions and instincts I had never once experienced before, the hunger plaguing me became a thousands times stronger to the point my coherent thoughts began drowning allowing the new instincts took over. I felt my veins heat up across my entire body as the sound of my heartbeat vibrated throughout my head, My muscles felt filled with a monstrous strength I definitely did not possess before, I reached forward and snatched her hand.
“Ouch! Ahh! Uriel you're hurting me let go!” She tried prying my hand from her wrist by pushing against me, a new group of instincts suddenly overwhelmed my body, She looked into my eyes and froze in terror. My neck bended and my legs push forwards as Lunged my body towards her neck.
‘I must obtain her essence! All of it it! All of it! All of It’ The last of my rationality was finally drowned by both my instincts and the screams originating from my prey.
“Let Her Go” A scream partially caused some of my thoughts to resurface from the ocean of instincts. I try to locate the source of the scream Only to feel an impact on my back, My body stumbled towards one of the pane windows as I turn only to see the heel of shoe an inch from my nose.
*Crack!*
....
The glass behind me shatters along with my nose as my body impacts against it, the feeling of freefall finally drowns my instincts as coherent thoughts once again begin forming.
‘I don’t Want To Die!’
