In Xavier's dreams he saw a circus clown type fellow wearing blue, white and red. Preaching and questioning a Xacier look-a-like but not himself, a clone or reflection maybe before a flash of light took them both away with some French themed fireworks, "They could be a French Clown and a flashback to to Great Fondue War," he mused to himself "The colours certainly fit and the French tend to have a flair for the dramatic, that is when their not busy having baguette sword fights."
Xavier stopped for a moment to remember some fond memories of his trip to France such as the Great Fondue War of the Tower and the Baguette Death Challenge(in case you you were wondering the only things that died in the challenge were the baguettes themselves and your pride, dignity and all those other useless constraints. Really you can't expect to hold onto your pride after being beaten black and blue by a stick of bread after yours broke from issues caused by hunger and combat alike) before looking around and realising that he wasn't in... where had he been?
He had traveled so much that the names had just started to seem irrelevant, but he knew it had been somewhere with great people, food and experiences.
But whatever that place's name may have been, he knew he wasn't there anymore which was rather sad, but hey, live in the moment and whatnot, so he started looking around, which some may have considered an exercise in futility as it didn't really offer much information, considering it was black as the night sky in what remained of the wilderness.
Beautiful, speckled with points of light, swirling constellations combined with twisting kaleidoscopes of the visible colour spectrum and beyond. For a moment Xavier felt like he saw the Universe and all of its beauty before the moment passed, though he knew it was a part of him. Forever.
Few things were forever he knew but this was one of them.
He blinked and it was gone from sight and in its stead stood a giant of epic proportions, with stars speckled across his waistcoat and oceans crashing in his shirt, with lush forests and earthquakes balancing on his pants and lava splashing in his shoes.
Then, the nervous giant who looked like a mis-swing of his hand might send a mountain flying, nervously splayed his hands and said "HI THERE MORTAL, YOU LOOK FAMILIAR, I MET A LITTLE FELLOW LIKE YOU A WHILE AGO, WOULD YOU LIKE EXPLODING-CORN TOO?"
“As tempting as that may be,” said Xavier while unscrupulously helping himself to the stack of Exploding-Corn the nervous but friendly giant had put out for him “I would ask your name and what this wonderful place is first?” Ignoring the rather large(if you catch my drift) twitch the mysterious stranger had made upon hearing the word ‘wonderful’, Xavier waited for a reply and got one fairly quickly(not that replies aren’t usually instant, but in this case Who knows what might happen), “MY NAME IS BOB, AND I HAVE COME TO WELCOME YOU TO THE WORLD OF CASCADING REALITIES OR W.O.C.R. FOR SHORT. ANOTHER LITTLE FELLOW TAUGHT ME THAT A WHILE AGO BUT LONGER AGO THAN THE FIRST OTHER LITTLE ONE, ANYWHOM, THIS IS THE WAITING ROOM BEFORE YOUR FIRST INTRODUCTORY MISSION, IT SHOULDN’T BE TOO HARD UNLESS YOU GET EITHER REALLY LUCKY OR UNLUCKY, DEPENDS ON YOUR PERSPECTIVE. BY THE WAY I AM BOB! ALMIGHTY PART-TIMER HERE, HAVE FUN AND DID YOU NOTICE MY USE OF THE WORD ‘ANYWHOM’, I LEARNED THAT FROM THAT SECOND SMALL FELLOW… NO WAIT THE THE FIRST ONE… OR MAYBE BOTH, THEY WERE OF A SIMILAR TYPE. BY NOW AND ONCE AGAIN HAVE FUN!

Thus, Bob disappeared in an explosion of confetti, leaving the originally dramatic and mysterious Waiting Room covered in it from from both his entrance and exit, only for a large slab of stone shing with stars to rise out of everywhere and Nowhere at once to fill the silence with the words inscribed in it seemingly meant for the eyes of Bob or maybe Xavier, since it took its time, waiting until Bobo the Clown, no wait that was the French guy, Bob, that was it, until Bob was gone and Xavier was once again alone.
Written upon the cheap(or incredibly expensive from a mortal point of view) ripoff tablet(he could tell by the small inscription on the back of the tablet which said ‘Made in Timbuktoo, Nowhere, Nowhere At All) were these words and other assorted symbols and glyphs.

“Intriguing, said Xavier” joked Xavier to himself, before willing his way back in time to save the future before someone beat him to it.
