Wolf Dreamer
Out of the valley

Out of the valley

Our little wolf woke up, Rana could not remember falling asleep. He still felt aggrieved, but now he was not in the world of humans and that made him feel relieved. He went out to hunt forgetting about the trouble in his human life. After eating his fill, he went to train rook jumping to get out of this closed space.

In the next days Rana did not leave home, he just got up to eat and then went back crawling into his bed. He retracted himself from the world, ignoring his phone, his human life, his work. His wolf life became his refuge from the world of humans, he slowly became more wolf, to a point he did not know which was his real life. The human one or the wolf one. The wolf life was too realistic to just be a dream and his human life seemed just too miserable.

He practised hard for almost a week, he now had mastered complete control of his wolf body, every movement being completely natural. His strength and agility had grown tremendously. He was now able to do the practise route without falling off.

The food was starting to become scarce in the enclosed valley. He had hunted almost all animals down and had to start relying on other edible foods, eating manly berries and insects.

He felt that he should be able to get out of here, but the height of the wall still scared him. On the other hand, he really could not bear eating insects any more. The wolf went to the old oak, saying his good byes. As he turned around, he felt energy flowing from the oak into him. It seemed to him that the oak, was sad giving him some last blessings before he left. As the energy flowed into him, the oak lost almost all it‘s leaves. The wolf could feel the energy reinforcing his body but mostly his soul. As he walked away, he was overcome with sadness. That was when he heard the oak for the first and last time “Young one, I have seen you grow up by my roots under my protection and now I see you must leave. I will give you one last blessing, that will give you strength and allow you to communicate with the still ones such as myself. Now go and explore the world young wolf.”

The young wolf walked up to the climbing spot. He jumped onto a big rock with skill, then he jumped onto a ledge from the cliff, climbed up a bit and skilfully jumped to the next ledge. In was a magnificent show, of a wolf climbing a cliff, unfortunately no one was there to watch.

As he climbed higher and higher, he almost slipped a few times but felt more and more confident. And then it was already time for the last jump. Arriving at the top of the wall, the sun had set and the moon was high. The young wolf felt immensely happy and looking at the moon at the sky, he howled at the moon for the first time. Then exhausted from all the jumping he walked away from the edge of the cliff and lay down falling asleep.
