Chapter 5: Minx attacks!
Elhaym reached down and scooped up the green girl in her arms, cradling her like a puppy, and carried her to a clean spot of grass away from the scene of the violence.
“Are you okay small one?” Elhaym gently set her down on the grass, and pulled out a rag that she wet with some water and started wiping some of the 'sprink' off the girl's face, “Are you injured anywhere?”
“I-I-I-I'm okay!” The girl stammered, her eyes not leaving Elhaym's face, then she winced in pain. She finally looked down and noticed a sizable slash on her leg, 'sprink' flowing freely from the wound. “Oh, I've been stabbed I think...”
Tomoko was very confused, did no one bleed blood? Or did blood just look different here? Was it because she was a green person” But then again the human bandits that Elhaym tore apart bled the same thing. And then Tomoko realized, she had taken the fight very well. Was it because she shared a body with Elhaym? While she thought over this whole situation Elhaym tended to the girl's wound.
“I'm going to have to remove your overalls, er, can you tell me your name?” Elhaym's voice was very gentle and calming. Tomoko was surprised because she was so used to the very proud tone and super-confidence Elhaym talked with.
“I'm M-Minx, and okay, is my leg gunna be okay?” Minxy unbuttoned her overalls, and slid the straps off. She tried to pull the fabric down, but she winced in pain and stopped.
“You'll be okay Lady Minx, and just sit back, let me, Elhaym Von Ornstein, handle it, don't want you accidentally opening that wound oho~” Elhaym unclasped her cloak and rolled it up into a bundle. She set it down and let Minxy use it as a pillow before ever so gently sliding the overalls off the girl.
“You have such lovely ears~” Elhaym rolled up Minx's overalls and set them to the side, “I don't think I've seen a goblin girl with such lovely ears like yours before!”
Minx covered her face blushing a deep crimson. If steam could shoot out her ears it would. She made some whimpering noises, but Elhaym didn't seem to notice.
Elhaym reached into a pouch and pulled out a small handful of some dried leaves and began chewing them. They were bitter with a very pungent strong herbal aroma that reminded Tomoko of the traditional medicine shops by her apartment. While chewing, Elhaym wet another rag and gently cleaned the wound on Minx's inner thigh, with a tenderness that surprised Tomoko again. She never thought that a large and powerful person like Elhaym could tend to something with the softness of a cloud.
Elhaym then bent over the wound and with one quick motion transferred the chewed up poultice by mouth, to Tomoko's dismay. This seemed to surprise Minx as well who made a very loud squeak.
Elhaym sat back up and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand,
“Sorry about that, but those herbs lose potency if they sit out in the air for too long, but they'll heal quicker than most!” Elhaym reached over and gently stroked Minx's forehead with her thumb, “You're very flushed and sweaty are you alright?”

Minx just huffed for a moment before silently nodding, her face flushed. She grabbed her floppy ears and tried to hide her face.
“Th-thank you,” She finally stammered out.
“Brother Elhaym!” Fenix's deep voice made Tomoko jump but Elhaym just calmly stood up and turned to the Elf. “The other bandits ran back through the woods, if we make haste we can catch up to them in short order.”
“Ah brother Fenix, can I ask you to stand watch by the wagon? I'm tended to a wounded girl” Elhaym shoo'd the Elf away.
“I'll keep guard, but if we want to catch these bandits we shouldn't wait too long.” Fenix nodded and turned away.
Once Fenix walked away, Elhaym knelt in front of Minx and helped her get dressed. Elhaym offered her shoulder for Minx to pick herself up with. Minx stood up, balancing on one leg. Out of nowhere she collapsed into Elhaym and locked lips with her before pushing herself away and falling backwards, covering her face with her ears.
“Whoa she just kissed you Elhaym!!!” Tomoko jumped up and fist pumped (or at least that was what she wanted to do.)
Elhaym just looked in surprise, her lips pursed, and blinked a few times.
“Ara? Why did you fall over? Are you okay?! You shouldn't stress that leg too much!” Elhaym got up and picked up the absolutely squirming Goblin and cradled her. “Are you feeling ill? You're sweating and shivering!” Elhaym walked her over to a tree and set her down, so Minx could sit up.
“Fenix! We will have to belay following the bandits for now, I can't leave Minx here, she's wounded!” Elhaym covered the goblin in her cloak.
“N-no! I'm okay! Really!” Minx retreated into the cloak, her face now brighter than a tomato.
“Nonsense, I'll keep you safe, just sit tight for a moment,” Elhaym turned away to walk back to Fenix.
“Elly I don't think she is sick, I think she's just very into you?” Tomoko nodded sagely.
“I don't follow Tomoko, what do you mean?” Elhaym scratched the back of her head.
“I think Minx really likes you, as in – did you not realized she kissed you?” Tomoko was flabbergasted. Surely Elhaym was not that clueless?
“Oh! I thought she just fell and our faces touched, I wondered why our tongues touched...Aw she was so thankful for being saved she kissed us!” Elhaym flexed her arm.
“Uhh, I think it was more than just a thankful kiss...have you not kissed before?” Tomoko started to believe Elhaym really was that clueless.
“Of course! I've kissed another princess once when I stopped some bullies, but that's because I stopped bullies! It was in thanks oho~”
“Elhaym have you ever had a boyfriend before?” Tomoko was one hundred percent convinced that Elhaym was just clueless.
“Oh, never! Nfufu~” Elhaym chuckled, “I prefer princesses over princes~”
“Oh!!!” Tomoko put the pieces together finally, but also figured Elhaym was still super clueless that Minx obviously liked her.
“Another question, Elhaym, why is blood not normal in your world? Why is it sparkling and shiny, like liquid rainbows?”
Elhaym's face screwed up in confusion before suddenly hit with realization.
“Oh! That must be Astra's doing nfufu~” Elhaym snickered, “Astra doesn't like the sight of blood so she must have changed it to where you don't see it~”
“So blood just looks like sprinkly ink for me now?” Tomoko didn't know whether to be grateful or disturbed by the new fact.
“I guess so! Such a silly Deva she is~” Elhaym approached the waiting Elf who turned towards them.
“How is the Goblin? Minx you said her name was?” Fenix gave Elhaym a sly grin.
“Oh I think she's a bit flushed from her injury, so we should keep a watch over her until she's able to walk a bit, we can always track the bandits after.” Elhaym looked back over her shoulder at Minx, who was still hiding under the cloak.
“I can go scout ahead while you tend to her” Fenix gave Elhaym a teasing elbow.
“Oh great idea Brother Fenix! Get a heading and after Minx heals more we can go get those scoundrels!” Elhaym clapped Fenix on the back.
“Oh Elhaym you sweet summer child~” Tomoko chuckled. So Fenix obviously knows that Minx likes Elhaym too. Also Tomoko felt a bit of relief too. She thought Fenix and Elhaym were a couple at first, but now she had a chance! Once she had her own body...
Elhaym walked back over to the bundled up Minx and sat down next to her. The little Goblin popped her head out from under the cloak, smiling up at Elhaym with a toothy-fanged smile.
“Missy Elhaym, I'm sorry about earlier...” Minx looked down shamefully, her ears drooping.
“Ara? Oh nonsense Minx~” Elhaym reached over and gave Minx a gentle headpat, “If you're talking about me needing to save you, I'm just doing my job nfufu~”
Tomoko wished she could facepalm, Elhaym was worse than clueless, clues could not exist in her head after that.
“Yeah haha~ about savin' me of course!” Minx hid her face again behind her ears, “Wait did ya say your name is Elhaym Von Ornstein? As in Knight Princess Elhaym Von Ornstein?!” Minx's jaw dropped.
“Oho~ yes the one in the same!” Elhaym flexed her bicep, “You can just call me Elly nfufu~”
“O-of course! Elly~ hehe~” Minx blushed behind her hands, fangy-toothy smiling from ear to floppy ear.
