Kieran stepped out of the church and into a chill twilight. The faint half-moon had risen, casting a silver light on the weighty clouds that hung low overhead.
He looked around, ruminating in his mind for answers; he had to catch The Shadow, that was the job he had taken on and he was not about to give up. He also knew that apparently Tessa held the key to power, and was of great use to dark characters like The Shadow, and Malachai.
‘Malachai…’ Kieran grumbled irritably, frustrated at the thought of the man.
He had become quite critical about how the interrogation had gone. Something was fishy about it. If the minty fox didn’t know any better, it was as if the guards, or at least some of them, were in cahoots with The Shadow.

The attack at the wall by rogues; was it even the truth? Could it have been a tactful ploy by corrupt individuals involved to forge what they desired?
Kieran clenched his fist as he imagined Williams smirking as he led Malachai down the hall to his cell, knowing full well that Malachai’s incarceration would be overturned. Was it possible?
Kieran had learned never to doubt his sixth sense. He did not know what exactly was going on, but he knew to trust his instincts. Something was amiss, and being the adventurous, investigatory fox he was, he would get to the bottom of it all eventually.
It was so difficult knowing where to start, this case was a bit more serious than he was used to. Normally he would just have to track down a wanted man, then acquire him, and deliver him to the authorities. This time, however, while he was attempting that, many treacherous things were going on; he could just tell.
Kieran decided that he needed to find Tessa. If what was said about her was true, then she likely had more information in that somewhat absent-minded brain than he first thought.
The minty-furred fox made his way through the night, back to the tavern, hoping the celestial girl would still be there.
