Canto XXXI:

The group's walk came to an abrupt stop as they came to the edge of a steep cliff. It overlooked a vast sea of what appeared to be ice. The path hadn’t stopped as they had, instead it continued downward as a set of zig-zagging stairs carved into the cliffside. After taking in the view, the party finally set off down the stairs.
