Canto XVIII-XXX:
The terrain remained unchanged until bits of rock shone brightly in the twilight. On closer inspection, N-3 determined this lustrous substance was pyrite. This was as opposed to gold, a close relative, which Little Man had excitedly first thought it was.

Canto XXXI:
The group's walk came to an abrupt stop as they came to the edge of a steep cliff. It overlooked a vast sea of what appeared to be ice. The path hadn’t stopped as they had, instead it continued downward as a set of zig-zagging stairs carved into the cliffside. After taking in the view, the party finally set off down the stairs.
