Hearing this voice after years, memories started to flood into his head. Sensing this “weakness” “A” spoke up to lucian
[“A”- Boy, remember our reason for being here. Remember Helga and Loreil. Remember the sisters she took from you.]
Hearing the voice in his head reminding him of his purpose in life, Lucian calmed himself and took the seat in front of the woman who called him her step-son. Looking at the woman he could see the life of luxury she was living. Everything about the woman looked expensive from the clothes she wore to the hair she had styled. Was this reward she had gotten for killing his family?
Sensing his disgusted stare the woman could only give him a sharp smile. A smile she had put on for years for this man’s smile, one that hid everything behind lies. To Roan if she let the disgusted continue she would lose so she had to twist the boy's views away from hatred. However, feeling the change in the air “A” spoke up being that only Lucian could hear his voice at the current time.
[“A”- don't trust her boy, her powers rely on your trust. If you don’t you'll be caught in a web of lies that even I can’t help you out of. Remember that awful disturbed people breed awful disturbed powers.]
[The woman- My boy you've returned to me did you, I missed you so much. I Have tried looking for you, we all did. Your sister, Grace, all the nobles. We knew you were still out there, “My Boy” I’m so happy you're back. Have you tried the tea? It's amazing go ahead I made it just for you dear.]
Looking at the woman before him, Lucian wanted to drop and hug her but he knew that all of this was lies. They searched for him, yes but only to take his head. He knew that the tea was probably poisoned in some way. He knew that Roan, his so called loving step-mom, would never call him “My Boy”. She had always hated him for being the kings first born. But despite that she was a family he deeply missed. Every word she says reminds him of the courtyard in the castle playing with his little sisters. It reminded him of the years of playful bickering with Claire. It reminded him of his Caring father and the times as a child that he sat on his lap, listening to the stories of the gods. It reminded him of his mother, who would travel the world but always managed to make it back for his birthday with the most unique gifts ever.
But, most of all her voice reminds the young prince of the times they had shared. She might have hated the boy but she could still be a great parent at times. He remembered the picnic that they shared together. He was reminded of the first time he gave her a mother's day gi-........
[“A”- ENOUGH BOY, IF YOU CONTINUED GOING DOWN MEMORY LANE SHE WILL WIN THIS FIGHT]
Lucain, knocked out of it, took a look at Roan. Understand how dangerous it was to start remembering this while fighting an opponent with her move set he casted aside the memories of the woman. Trust in her is his weakness today and to win this battle he needs to be lacking in his feelings of love. He only needs his rage.
Channeling the memories of that night Lucian strengthened his conviction. Lucian then took a deep look at this step-mother and prepared himself for this conversion. He knew the only way he could defeat her was to fill his body with only hate, sadly that was something that normally would be impossible for the young prince. However he had one thing that enabled this to work and that was “A”.
[Lucian- So, how is everyone? How's Claire? I hear she took the throne. Oh and you mentioned Grace earlier how is she?]
Feigning that he fell for her powers the young prince answered calmly and collectively. Seeing this, Roans' eyes brightened and her smile creeped higher. With this confirmation she believed that she had won this fight without having to do more than talk to the boy. Overwhelming confidence filled her very soul, and due to that very confidence she cast aside any chance that she was fooled. After all, the only way to be able to avoid her power was to not know her at all, Something Lucian could never be capable of. Unknown to her Lucian and his “friend” “A” had found another way, one that related to the information gramps had given the prince.
[Roan- Oh, prince it's so good your back, as for you sister yeah she became queen in your absence. I hope that's ok after all you never really wanted to be king when you were around. It doesn't seem very reasonable to leave the throne empty for five years either. Are you going to have tea “My Boy”, it's quite good.]
Watching his step-mother look at the cup filled with tea Lucian could only wonder if he should rely on his healing to counter the clearly poisoned cup or refuse it. Sadly if he refused it that would reveal the lack of trust he had in the woman and since he needed to find out the locations of some of the key members of his family murders he had to keep up this facade. Due to this annoyance, Lucian's only option was to drink the tea and hope it wasn't strong enough to overpower his healing.
Downing the glass the young prince could feel a sharp and painful heat go down his throat, one unbefitting of a normal tea glass. Thinking Lucian swore at the woman for more dirty tricks remembering that it was her way of fighting and being on her battlefield was a huge disadvantage to the prince. Using every ounce of willpower he could muster, he poured all of it into his healing trying to counter the burning toxin that he poured down his own throat.
[“A”- Boy it was smart of you to drink this tea not even death itself can kill me and since I wish it to be the same for you it shall be so.}

With that decree a sudden uncomfortable, overwhelming will raided Lucian’s body filling him with more energy than he could ever consider believable. With the two’s wills they easily countered the poison. However, all this left the prince with was another reminder of the might of the being he was carrying with him.
As Lucian had this internal struggle the women before him burst into laughter. A smirk as if she had won appeared on her face, one that could reeked of mischief. With the bold laughter and grin the woman called Roan stood up looking down on the young man in front of her.
[Roan- HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAH. YOU DISGUSTING PIG, TO BELIEVE AFTER ALL I'VE DONE YOU'D STILL TRUST ME YOU'D STILL BELIEVE IN A WORLD WHERE THE STEP-MOTHER WHO MURDERED HER OWN KIDS AND HUSBAND WOULD SHOW LOVE TO THE LAST DISGUSTING WRETCHED BEARER OF THAT MAN'S BLOOD. NOO NO NOOO. JUST HELL NO YOUR LUCKY I DIDN'T HUMILIATE YOU. I SHOULD HAVE BUT YOU IN CHAINS AND HAD THE TOWNS DEFILE YOU. I SHOULD HAVE SENT YOU TO LORD TURIEN AND HAD HIM CARVE OUT YOU EYES AND SOW THEM INTO THE WRONG PLACE. I SHOULD FEED YOUR BODY TO THE WOLVES AND HAVE THE HEALERS BRING YOU BACK FOR ANOTHER ROUND OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL YOU DON'T EXIST ANY MORE. I SHOULD GIVE YOU TO YOUR SISTER AND HAVE HER ADD YOUR BONES TO THE THRONE WITH THE REST OF YOUR TAINTED BLOOD. BUT NO I SHOWED YOU MERCY AND TOOK YOUR LIVE NOW. THAT POISON IS TOO STRONG FOR YOUR HEALING IT WAS MADE BY LORD AMORY HERSELF. NO ONE CAN EVEN FIGHT A POISON OF THIS LEVEL. I'LL GRANT YOU THAT YOUR POWER IS ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT TO DEAL WITH THE POWER TO HEAL BOTH YOURSELF AND ANY OTHER LIVING BEING IS QUITE STRONG AND YOU EVEN LEARNED TO USE IT TO CONTROL THE GROWTH OF PLANTS. IT'S A REMARKABLE POWER JUST ONE THAT WON'T EVER BE AS POWERFUL AS A CUNNING ONE LIKE MINE OR AN OFFENSIVE ONE LIKE YOUR SISTERS. YOUR JUST TOO SWEET OF A PERSON TO DO ANYTHING OF VALUE. YOU FAILED TO SAVE YOUR FAMILY, YOUR FAILED TO STOP YOUR FIANCE FROM BURNING YOUR OWN MOTHER ALIVE. AND YOU FAILED TO STOP ME FROM TAKING YOUR LITTLE SIBLING AND YOUR FATHER. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHA. I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE YOU STILL WISH TO GET REVENGE YOUR GROSSLY UNDERPOWERED FOR SUCH A TASK AND WAY TOO STUPID. GOOD BYE MY DEAR STEP-SON.
With this speech the woman walked away preparing to receive those knights that are sure to come in a little. Turning her back to the “dead” prince she failed to notice him standing and pulling his bow off his shoulders. Taking a walk over to a mirror to freshen up the woman sat and pulled out a kit of makeup. Humming the woman wiped away some of her makeup which was screwed up due to the hears from laughing so hard at the man.
[Roan- I wonder what I should do with the body, perhaps give it to the Gravne family as a gift. I heard they enjoy the dead just as much as the living.]
Catching a glimpse of the young prince standing once again, Roan stood quickie and rushed over to the man pretending as if she cared once again. The shock on her face could not be covered however, to her this man had not only defeated death once but twice. She had seen this same poison wipe out an entire village who had dared to rebel against the queen's taxes. This was a feat that the young man before her should have zero chance of pulling off. All she knew is that she had to stall him until the guards finally arrived.
[Roan- Oh “My Boy” you fell, are you ok if you need you can take a nap here and we can keep catching up once you've woken.]
With another lie, one that she had confidence that he believed due to her power, she tried to guide the boy to the bed. Feeling sick the moment that she touched him he backed off. Wondering why it was she felt this why just by touching the man's body she started to see that the wood around his feet started to rot.
[Lucian- You know I learned of your power due to gramps right. It's such an interesting power that relies on the person to trust you, but as long as they do any lie you tell them they believe is true. Is that how you convinced my father that I had murdered my little sisters? It's a strange power that ensures your win in a game of wit. Just make the person before you hold trust for you a little and then it'll snowball until they believe that you cared for them all their life right?]
Hearing “this man’s” voice creep into her ears all she could feel was fear, fear of this primal eldritch voice that she had never heard before. The voice she heard was both Lucian’s but also not. The voice was a scary one that brought her no comfort, which was the opposite of this man’s usual voice. Lucian held a soft comforting voice, one fit a singer, maybe, but the voice she heard from him now was overwhelming, not seeking anything more than showing its own might. It was not fitting for the boy she had helped raise. All she felt from it was a sense of danger, one that told her to run, leave this place and get away from the presence before her.
[Lucain- don't think of running, I have many questions for you. I want to know where Nate Turien is and where it is that I can find the queen? Why is she never in the capital? What are you planning? And finally why is over seventy percent of the army gathering? What war are you trying to start.]
Unable to reason the woman before Lucian threw a vase at him as she backed up trying to keep him away. The vase flying through the air was smashed by a purple vine that spread out and grabbed the woman. Twisting around her the vine grabbed her limbs and held her up. When the vines make contact with skin, the skin turns a gross purple and black. Feeling intense pain from the vine, Roan could only scream in pain.
Walking close to his step-mother Lucian looked at her with a sad yet hate filled look, as if the prince was crusing the very world for the situation he found himself in. but before he could continue this depression lookout he reminded himself of the things she had done and said. This woman was evil, a monster who’d kill her step-son and give his corpse away to be defiled. She didn't deserve his sadness or love. Yet for some reason he still felt it in him.
Steeling his heart Lucian spoke to the horrid woman before him.
[Lucian- I want answers Roan, tell me them before I kill you]
Seeing this monster all roan could do was scream. She wished to escape this young man and hoped to never come across him again. Before he never had struck fear in her but now was different, now he was undoubtedly a monster that could easily kill her. All she could tell was that she was going to die, something she believed would happen on a deathbed with her daughter holding her hand. She had won her fight usurped the throne and taken care of the royal blood but now a man of that blood stood here. One that vowed that her and her daughter's life was going to be stolen. One that she could do nothing about. A weakling in her eyes that she had killed twice now. Finally she came to a conclusion, this man must be the grim reaper here for her soul. Here for her daughter's soul. A unkillable monster that rotted the very ground he stood on.
Realizing that her life was forfeit now all she could do was spite the man now lead him into a trap, something to get him away from her beloved child. But before her words could even leave her mouth a voice one that wasn't Lucian’s came from the boy’s mouth
[“A”- She's going to lie to us, boy. Just take her skull as a prize already. We have no need for her if she wont give us any trustworthy information.]
The voice was dark and intense as if it could command the very cells in her body if it so chose. All the understanding this woman had for the world she had called home for sixty plus years flew out the window. She could tell this voice was one that no one could challenge alone. It was a reality that drove her to take action into her hands. She refused to die to this monster that stood before her, that talked as if it could command the universe and the universe would listen. She had only one move in her play book, one last thing, she thought as she bit off her tongue.
