Chapter 6 Withering

Chapter 6 Withering

A sharp pain pulled Qiwei back to reality from her coma. She moaned and intended to use her hand to touch the wound, but discovered that her hands were completely immobile. Another bout of intense pain arrived, and this time she was fully awake. A fat face from a nightmare gradually became distinct in front of her eyes. That face was so close that even the pores on the nose could be clearly seen.

Qiwei shrieked in terror and instinctively desired to jump up and evade, but her hands couldn't move behind her back. She immediately lost her balance and heavily fell onto the table once again. There was another bout of severe pain in her hip, and this time it nearly made her faint.

"Beauty, don't be so scared. The night is still long." The very close fat face displayed a toad-like expression.

Qiwei calmed down somewhat and observed her situation. The room was large, and dozens of candles hanging from the chandelier on the ceiling illuminated the room brightly. The furniture in the room was still brand new, and at a glance it could be seen that it was made of inferior wood, yet it was still made to look magnificent. One could envision the taste of the owner. However, what Qiwei was more concerned about was herself. She quickly discovered that her hands were firmly tied behind her back and she was lying prone on a large laboratory table.

The fat man held a small pair of pliers in his hand, clamping a crossbow bolt stained with blood. He took a careful look at it in front of his eyes and then tossed it aside. He reached out and gently lifted Qiwei's chin. "Haha, she really looks good. Why aren't you fierce now? Hit me? Do I have to be rough with you to be good? Big beauty, I really shot this arrow in the right place. It seems I'm a genius archer."

The female warrior spat and bit hard on Rogue's hand. Rogue quickly withdrew his hand and grabbed her hair again, forcefully pulling it up. A look of pain emerged on Qiwei's face, and her entire upper body was pulled up, revealing her curves.

Rogue's hand made Qiwei feel as if a cold poisonous snake was crawling on her body. However, she was caught by the hair, and her struggle was rather limited. Tears finally couldn't help flowing from her tightly closed eyes. Qiwei was half a head taller than Rogue. Her skirt armor and breastplate had been removed by Rogue when she was in a coma. Suddenly, her waist narrowed significantly, and her legs were long, straight, and had a beautiful and strong silhouette.

In the small building, the candlelight swayed amid the hoarse cursing of the female warrior. The inferior laboratory table couldn't bear the weight of the two people. The devil danced frantically in the fire, and the resentful spirits let out hysterical screeches.

...

The early spring night was still bleak and cold. When the wind blew, the unopened spring flowers had also withered.

The music ended and the people scattered.

Rogue hummed a tune smugly while looking at the snow-white lamb he had captured. The soreness in his body seemed to be singing. Not long ago, this lamb was still a real lion. Rogue put on his clothes and decided to go find Eite and the others to take a look at his prey. The only thing that made him unhappy was Qiwei's gaze. It was completely cold, without pathos or anger, not empty either, just looking coldly at the fat man. Rogue felt like a frog being stared at by a snake, and he really didn't like this sensation. He added another rope to Qiwei. Qiwei had no reaction at all, just as if it wasn't her own body, still quietly looking at the fat man like a snake.

Rogue hurriedly left, almost as if to escape this murderous gaze. Of course, the best way would be to silence her, but Rogue didn't have the courage for that at the moment. Besides, it would be really a pity to kill such a great beauty.

Eite and several others excitedly came to the small building. The small building was like a violent storm had just passed, and everything was smashed into a mess. Several people sensed that something was wrong. Rushing up to the second floor, they found the large laboratory table was already empty, and the rope used for binding was broken into several sections. Kate picked up the broken end of the rope and looked at it, then turned back and said, "This was broken by force. God! She could break such a thick rope. Was she really captured by you?" Rogue thought of the battle qi that flashed on the female warrior's body and immediately broke out in a cold sweat.

Eite, being the eldest and more experienced one, was the first to calm down. "Everyone, don't panic first. The other side still doesn't know exactly who we are. But it seems that Rogue can't stay in this small building any longer." Everyone gradually calmed down. Once the panic passed, Rence's mind became active again and said, "I'm afraid they will come to set the building on fire."

"Since we've started, we won't stop! Now it's impossible to end this nicely. We must take the initiative first. There isn't much time. Let's discuss and plan a trap for them. As long as they dare to come and set the building on fire, they won't gain any advantage. These mercenaries can't play any tricks anyway." Franco, who usually didn't talk much, was rather ruthless.

The group discussed for a while, erased the traces of their visit, and quickly left.

On the path, Rogue and several people dressed like nobles strutted towards the small building, chatting in low voices and laughing loudly all the way. One could tell that they were discussing topics common among men.

Several people walked up to the small building and stopped. Suddenly, a person next to Rogue said, "Something's wrong. Someone has entered. There's an ambush here." At this moment, there was a loud bang, and the fragments of the building door flew everywhere. A sword light slashed through the air towards Rogue. Before the sword arrived, the killing intent had already enveloped Rogue's whole body. The fat man felt like he was in an ice cave, helplessly watching the huge sword blade approaching but unable to move. Two long swords on both sides suddenly extended and blocked the huge sword. The huge sword bounced up gently with the force and suddenly became extremely light and swift, slashing and stabbing at Rogue continuously. The two long swords wove a tight net of swords and blocked all the attacks. Obviously, the two who held the swords were not mediocre either.

After the swift attack passed, the sword light dissipated, and Qiwei was panting heavily, holding the sword and pointing at Rogue. Her face was pale, she casually wore a set of leather armor, her eyes were bloodshot, and there were still faintly visible bruises on her neck.

Three figures rushed out from inside the building. The several people around Rogue respectively went up to meet them and fought together. They were exactly the three warriors from the bar that day. Only the mage was still nowhere to be seen.

At this moment, a loud shout came from not far away: "How dare you, the bold rebels, attack the city guards in the king's capital!?" With the clanging sound, a small team of well-armored swordsmen led by a heavily armored knight rushed over and quickly surrounded the small building. The people who fought against Qiwei and the others also tore off their gowns and revealed the soft armor with the sign of the city guards inside. Rogue quickly retreated to the side, and Eite and others also came over, looking at the female warrior with a sinister smile.

The heavily armored knight said nothing and pointed his lance forward. Immediately, the soldiers swarmed up, and every sword strike was aimed at killing. The mercenaries knew they had fallen into a trap. After greeting each other, they simultaneously rushed outward and then immediately turned and retreated into the building, pulling away from the soldiers. With a whoosh on the second floor of the small building, a fireball the size of a bowl flew down and exploded among the group of swordsmen. The heat mercilessly burned the exposed skin of the swordsmen. Immediately after, the second fireball flew down, and several swordsmen who were already seriously injured immediately turned into human torches and fell down screaming.

The figure of the mercenary mage appeared at the window on the second floor. Deep cold freezing air accompanied by countless ice spikes emanated from between his hands. Several swordsmen who couldn't dodge in time were immediately frozen, and then the freezing air hit, and among them, those with slightly poorer physical strength cracked into several pieces with a snap. An immediate gap appeared in the tight encirclement formation, and Qiwei and others seized the opportunity to rush out of the encirclement. A tall warrior reversed and threw a rope towards the window and wrapped it around the mage several times. The mage jumped out of the window, and the warrior pulled hard. It seemed that the mage was about to float and break through the encirclement in the air.

The heavily armored knight shouted loudly, and a flash of deep blue light all over his body. The lance in his hand flew like a meteor and pierced through the chest, nailing the mage firmly to the wall.

Qiwei let out a mournful cry and was about to turn around and fight desperately. A warrior beside her held her tightly and carried her on his shoulder, quickly leaving. Another warrior chanted a short activation incantation and threw out a scroll. Suddenly, many vine plants emerged from the ground, and the branches danced wildly in the air, tightly entwining whenever they touched an object. Several swordsmen who chased quickly were immediately firmly entangled. The mercenaries disappeared in the slums at this opportunity.

Rogue gazed in the direction where the female warrior vanished with a sense of loss, knowing full well that she would never let it go so simply.

The heavily armored knight regarded his severely injured subordinates and gave a cold snort. Kate came over and whispered to the knight, "Dad, what should we do now?" The knight remained silent for a long while and then heaved a sigh, "Your troubles are still ahead. Hey, mercenary." He summoned a swordsman and whispered some instructions to him. The swordsman departed as soon as he received the order. The knight glanced at Kate and the others once again and shouted, "Just you also want to act so arrogantly like others?! First, practice your skills well!" Then he rode away in a cloud of dust.

Not long after, a small team of knights galloped to each city gate of Rhine and pasted a wanted notice on the bulletin board, which read: "Wanted: The Sword and the Blood Rose Mercenary Group.

This mercenary group was plotting rebellion in the capital. After the failure, they injured many city defense troops. Currently, Qiwei, the sister of the head of this mercenary group, and three main members are on the run. Thirty ordinary mercenaries of the mercenary group are also on the run.

Capturing or killing one of the main members will earn a reward of 500 gold coins, and for one ordinary mercenary, the reward is 30 gold coins. The informant will receive half the reward."
