1/10/999 calendar reboot
The unified calendar
It was going to be an ordinary, routine day, but something happened to shatter that state of affairs. Hell on earth - there was no better word to describe it.
Lying on the ground, having lost all his strength, his body in tatters, a boy breathed with difficulty, he couldn't move, it was impossible for him to flee even if he wanted to.
It was impossible for him to ask for help, he knew that no one would come to rescue him, and even if he could have had that hope, he couldn't shout, even the simple thing of shouting was impossible for him.
He knew it, his time had come, he who had hoped to start a relationship with the chosen one of his heart, he who had strongly thought of being the big brother his sister deserved and the son who would make his mother proud.
It's true that sometimes you don't have a choice about how you die, but in his case, he would have liked to have the choice.
Theos awoke from a long night's sleep to find his sister had not come to his room.
This meant that everything was going well for her.
But as soon as he woke up, his sister's voice rang in his ears, they were supposed to play together, after all he'd promised.
-Later; he said, as it was a weekend he couldn't avoid it.
After checking the time, it was 9 o'clock, I didn't play hard last night, why did I sleep so much?
-Later then; replied his younger sister as the door to Theos's room is never completely closed, his voice carried, even if he was in the corridor.
-All right, then.
But a few moments later, someone knocked on his bedroom door.
Hmm?
Louise?
Theos got up from the bed to open his bedroom door fully, and was startled.
What's that....
Who is it?
In front of him, a girl with totally white hair, an innocent look and dressed in what seemed to be a kimono, used by priestesses but revisited strangely.
Theos was surprised; he hadn't been told she was a guest, unless she was a friend of Louise's, strange but not impossible.
-Who are you?
Instead of the usual greeting, it was a question that came out of Theos's mouth.
The girl smiled.
-My name is Isha, a goddess from another universe.
She really managed to say that with such lightness and seriousness, Théos thought. Frankly, he didn't know that his sister had cosplayer friends.
Without sounding disrespectful, he observed the girl, who was probably the same age as his sister, between 16 and 15.
What she just said must be a joke.
-Louise's room is next door.
Saying this, Theos tried to close the bedroom door slightly and remove his pink pyjamas.
But the mystery girl, Isha, was much quicker.
-It's you I've come to see, Theos, will you let me in?
She was polite, too polite, Theos opened the door wide, he had nothing to lose by playing with her, maybe she was one of his mother's friends' daughters, or his sister's not impossible friend it was in this frame of mind that Theos let Isha into his room.
But the main reason Theos was willing to listen to her was curiosity, after all, since he was born he'd never seen anyone with such pure, white skin, you'd think it was a new species of human.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
It was something new in a way, whether it was that simple kimono cut in a strange way, the color of this girl's skin or the color of her eyes, which were like pure jewels, everything about her intrigued him.
Isha approached Theos's desk, turned the sliding chair towards him and sat down on it.
She's comfortable, apparently; Theos thought.
Theos followed suit and sat down on his bed -So what does a goddess want with me?
-As I said earlier, I'm Isha, a goddess.
Theos remained unmoved by this statement, as he was used to with some of his friends.
-Oh~ You believe me without question?
Above all, he didn't want to shame the other party, imagining that she could no longer sustain the conversation because of embarrassment and ran off, who was he going to ask these questions to?
-Not really, but I can always listen to what you come up with in return, I could ask you a few questions if you like.
Afterwards, if she refused to answer, all she had to do was go and see her mother or sister, one of whom could only know her.
Wouldn't it just be enough for me to get out of here and go see Mom?
-If you insist, I can show you what I can do.
Wow
How many times had he heard his friend say that? He'd decided to play along, but....
-But wait, are you levitating?
Isha, who was supposed to be sitting down, was now at least a meter up from the chair.
He was surprised he'd phrased his question wrong, but it couldn't be helped.
It was definitely a hidden camera, or something like that, any minute now his sister and mother will be barging in, he thought; they've probably been tampering with my room while I was asleep.
-I'm a goddess after all!
She simulated the expression of someone who was proud of herself, which is what Theos immediately thought.
Maybe they gave me a sleeping pill as a joke?
Even if he didn't believe it, he wished he'd made the effort to put on FX, goddesses have to appear suddenly in a beam of light and ...
-I prefer to be polite when entering through the door. Isha dropped into the chair and resumed her initial posture.
What!?
Was that in response to what I was thinking?
-Let me explain why I've come.
Theos was becoming increasingly intrigued, and even though he could be doing something else with his time, he decided to listen to what the girl had to say.
Of course, this story about a goddess or levitation, he didn't believe it at all - he could check it out later.
-Theos, I need your help, the universes are in danger.
Seventeen years old Theos doesn't yet have a job or a professional life, his mother solves all her problems, now he has to solve other people's problems on a universal scale.
All he could do was salute the talents of the girl in front of him.
-What ?
The conversation had taken a 360-degree turn before it began, but that was to be expected.
-You see, the Gods are at war, and the conflict is so intense that the repercussions are beyond what you can imagine.
Of course, it's true that I can't imagine it.
-Hmm, there's a field, or rather a layer, protecting the dimensions, and it's weakening.
I get the impression that it's working on its thing.
-But why?
Why in his story would the gods be at war?
-It's a struggle for the seat of sole divinity.
Hmm, she's done it again. Cold reading or something? something like that?
Regardless of what Theos thought, Isha continued her speech.
This story was far-fetched, but supposing it's true, does she expect me to stop a war between gods?
If these deities as she describes them exist, is it even an enviable dream?
-Don't worry about that, there's no question of you intervening in a war between divinities - though....
No, your area of intervention is even more pressing.
She's done it again, it's not some whimsical power, thought Theos, she's good.
But can there be something more important than a battle between gods?
Isha on her chair had raised her fist to her face, and clenched it firmly, it was as if she wanted to show her determination.
She paused.
-The demon king!
It's a good old cliché, Theos thought, and the story would be all the richer for it.
-The demon king, that's the problem, the Divinities are so busy plotting and fighting amongst themselves that his existence seems an insignificant thing.
-In a situation where I can't let my guard down, I have few options, which is where you come in.
As curiosity nestled deep inside Theos, this story intrigued him more and more, he could very well have stopped the girl's ramblings but he didn't,He thought she'd spin around in bed when she got home, so embarrassed, or say things like I'm so ashamed, I want to kill myself, she'll certainly regret this game she's playing.
But even so, Theos responded to this affair with serious.
-But why me?
For the first time, Isha wore a sincere smile, even if it didn't last long.
-Because we're alike.
Although that's not the only factor; your temperament, your current abilities, everything points to the fact that you're the ideal candidate, plus I chose you, isn't that the best of reasons?
-I see, so whether this story is true or not, I'm under no obligation to help!
Hmm, Isha's fake smile hasn't disappeared, maybe that's what she's talking about when she says we look alike?
-I've got friends, family and even a girlfriend-
Hmm? Nothing?
-Why should I give all that up to go, strangers from a world I don't even know instead of helping those who must me, after all even in this world there are strangers who need help.
-You're wrong, my little Theos.
It's in your interest to cooperate!
A threat?
-Don't look at me like that, it's scary, Theos!
Theos sensed something was wrong, but he didn't know what.
-Listen, if the envelope becomes more fragile, rifts may form, I stand corrected, rifts are forming, and if this continues, the demon king and all sorts of creatures may land in this world and you can imagine that it will be the end.
To recap, today is the first day of the month, I've woken up, a strange girl - no, a goddess - has arrived, I've got to help her, gods are fighting, rifts, a demon king, creatures and a possible end of the world, am I right?
Oh, there's a lack of coherence here, and I can't put my finger on anything.
Let's admit it, I've got a lot to admit today, let's say it's true and I've got to go and arrest a demon king...
-I'll have one condition!
-Don't worry about it, I'm going to freeze this world until you get back!
Huh
-I wasn't asking for so much, is such a thing possible?
-Totally, I'm God after all!
Why doesn't she just stop her demon king?
-And what do I need to know?
-Ah, don't worry about that!
Let's shake hands and make a deal.
Isha got up from her chair and walked towards Theos, She held out her hand and he grabbed it.
Their handshake ignited, first in blue, then several colors in succession gradually turning white, with rainbow flashes, it was beautiful.
She laughed.
-It's time for your reincarnation!
A moment of realization this was for Theos, reincarnation? What did she mean by that, with all that the matter implied, reincarnation?
-Tell me, how do you open up a way between universes for a soul to migrate and reincarnate?
Reflexively, Theos withdrew his hand, Isha smiled, returning to sit on the chair.
-Are you going to tell me? You're the goddess!
-Well, I'll tell you, without going through the power of a god, it would take at least two million eight hundred thousand sixty thousand nine hundred and forty-four souls, this calculation being based on this world with multi-layered restrictions.
The atmosphere between the two had changed dramatically, and Theos understood that this girl was the real deal.
It was sudden, how could he be blind?
But nobody could blame him, he was a divine being too.
-What do you mean by that?
-Although I can reincarnate you, I find it boring, after all you said it yourself, isn't that a cliché development?
-i'll destroy this world.
-Thanks to this destruction you'll be reborn.
She's crossed her feet, that's bad, thought Theos, and while he was thinking about what was going on, a voice drew him out of his torpor.
-Big brother, Mommy needs you, can you please come downstairs!
The moment he was distracted by this sentence, he noticed that Isha had disappeared, as if in a dream, as if nothing had happened, even the chair was in its original position.
But the screams that came after reminded him of the harshness of reality, these voices came from his sister and his mother, these voices had an alarming tone, something serious had just happened.
