Right as the title says my name is jack sparrow the current year is 2025. I am 28 years old at the moment. A lot has happened in the past 9 years but I will begin 9 years ago when my parents first kicked me out of my house.
"Mom you don't give A flying shit about me. If parenting was about giving me clothes food and shelter I have a fcking job and look how I FCKIN turned out"
"What did you just listen here don't be blaming this on me your the one at fault have you been taking your pills"
"The only thing that was ever wrong is your and dads Abuse. I am finally mature to look back calmly at my past and all I can see is yelling emotional torture and me being locked in this bedroom for 6 FCKIN years!"
"I HAVE HAD ENOUGH PACK YOUR SHIT AND LEAVE!"
"FINE!"
I took out my phone and scrolled through numbers. I had lots of friends but only a few close ones and they had parents so I called the only person I new could help me out. Grey our friendship was based solely on pur frequent run ins. We randomly ran into each other a lot eventually a friendship was formed.
"Hey Gray can you pick me up I need a lift to the nearest shelter
....yea my moms kick in me out....I'll tell ya when ya get here...alright see ya soon thx"
After about 15 minutes Greg old mustang drove up it was s rusty blue with a hood that obviously did not match the car evidence of a crash a while back as usual his car was messy as hell whenever we got in he was a fast cleaner and I helped out.
*so what's the deal man.." Gray said as he looked over at me.
"Me and my mom had a fight I know my mother very well and she was serious this time I ain't goin home."
"Ya sure maybe you should apologize. Its never to late," he said.
"It never be to late but its certainly to soon," I said pulling a monster from my bag.
"I can't argue with that..." We drove in silence for a bit.
"Hey let's stop at my work I am sure as hell lucky my check came in...I really don't want to use my savings..."
"How much you got saved up," Grey asked.
"Not much maybe 500 bucks.?" I said.
"The check?"
"Enough for 3 months at a shelter if I spend it wisely."
"I am moving up to Massachusetts for an oil company I a couple weeks to live with a few friends till I land the job. Ya wanna come?"
"Nah I think we should say our goodbyes my phone service will without a doubt be shut off I won't have contact with you for several months by the time I do who knows where I'll be but I guess I'll give ya call then."
"So why don't ya wanna come?" He asked again pulling over to a burger king where I worked.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
" I got a girlfriend, I got two jobs I just got my GED and let's face it Tennessee is my home."
"Alright well when you get back let's have a drink and I'll drop you off."
"Thx I guess I got gas!" I grinned
"Ya better shelters in down town Memphis. Ya know I am good on my word."
"Eh well hurry up."
I closed the door went in to get my check.
"Hey Mr.Tarry can I get my check I also gotta see my schedule. " I asked.
"Yea give me a moment," Mr.Terry said. Despite the last name he was actually a tall Caucasian rather then black. A big beer belly and whispy orange hair.
He came back." Alright here ya go and this week your working Friday Saturday and Sunday night shift.
"Is it to close?" I asked.
"Yea the usual? Why? Ha well I got my other job and I just got kicked out its gonna take me an hour or two ta walk back an forth. As much as I hate to cutbmy own hours mind changing it to ten instead of 11:00
" I'll see what I can do." He said if there was one reason to like Mr.Terry its that he didn't pry into others business to much a good quality one I tried to immulate.
I got back in the car with Grey smoking a CIG outside.
"Ya know those are bad for ya right?" I frowned.
"I only smoke one or two a day anyway ya can't even smell it on my clothes besides I workout one or two ain't much."
"Right well let's hit the bank"
"K..."
After the bank we went to the park had ourselves a few drinks we weren't 21 so it was just your normal No's and monster. Gave ourselves a cheers and just drank watching the breeze go over the lake.
"Hey its been a while let's see how well your bodies holden up with them Cigs." I said.
"Jack I always win," he said.
"I beat you two times ago," I grinned.
"One time ya beat me and that's because my laces were untied."Grey said a little annoyed.
" well prove it," I said my grin borderline mocking.
"Fine 20 bucks better not regret it." He said.
"Well mister confidence hope your shoes are tied," I grinned and took up the usual spot.
"On 3...3!!!"
We both dashed around the too mile lake we usually placed a bet so it would feel a little less childish but truth is we enjoyed it.
"Has told ya beat ya pay up," I said with my usual grin.
"Alright fine I'll buy ya a FCKIN pizza no let's go the shelters gonna close soon."
"Alright. Thx man i'll miss ya," I looked up to the sky one last time before we got in the car.
