Prologue

And with the final notice sent out, the deal was done. The contract had been signed and with the drying of the ink, so too did the peace in the world fall to drought. Would it be the end of the world? Perhaps not, but it was the beginning of a descent into chaos.

By decree of Jurgen Wagner, the head of the vampires, war was now in pursuit of the seven nations.

The humans played very little part in the war. After only fifty years locked in battles, their leaders decided it would best to build walls around their cities and villages and hide in solitude. The younger generations even forgot about the other clans, and life went on as the new normal for them.

The Mur Shapeshifters were hunted to near extinction. They had the power to become anything they desired, thus many found them to be far too dangerous. Those few that survived the purge went into hiding and are now believed to be long gone.

The Dobutsu clans had lost many, as did the warlock and elementals.

The warlock clans had two classifications though. There are the standard warlocks and then there are winged warlocks. To say that standard warlocks aren’t powerful would be a lie, however, they didn’t come close to the might of the winged warlocks. But winged warlocks were already few and far between, so no one knew if any remained.

The werewolves and vampire clans were thriving in the chaos. They often stole humans to eat or add to their ranks. With this in mind, there was very little hope for any of the other clans to win the war.

Alas, it was time for the victor to be decided. After 500 years, who would come out on top?

The end result would change the world as they knew it, but how?

It’s time to find the one who could turn the tide of battle

Who will win, and who will succumb to the darkness that lies beneath?
