Chapter 4- Secrets and Forests pt 2

Justin looked down and met a pair of jade eyes hiding behind glass panes, along with amber eyes staring {more of glaring} at him.

Eve took another step back and Alex looked like he was ready to fight Justin yet again; cause it went oh so well last time..

Justin gave a frown, “Uh, I’m sorry about that- We didn’t mean to harm you. And you-” He glanced at Eve, “Stop stepping away; You are going to fall down the stairs. Your body may be more durable now, but that’s still gonna hurt like a bitch.”

Eve looked behind him and -just as Justin said- one more step back and he definitely would have tumbled down those stone stairs they had just climbed.

He shivered and took a small step forward. Alex stepped in front of him,

“Look dude, whatever the hell your name is, please just let us out of here. I don’t know what kind of freak fest orgy you’re running but we want no part of it.”

Justin snorted, then let out a hearty laugh.

Eve and Alex exchanged a despaired look

Justin then cleared his throat. “Ahem- sorry. I actually came to get you two.” He watched as their expressions darkened and grew grim

He sighed, “Look, you guys weren’t even supposed to come here. We met someone along the way and shit happened. I came to get you guys out. Please don’t worry, I bare no ill will against you.” He paused for a moment, “Though it seems you managed to get out on your own. Congrats.”

He went silent as Eve and Alex exchanged whispers. Sure he could here everything, heightened senses and all, but he tried his best to respect their privacy.

They turned to him again “Alright,” Alex spoke with a nod, “I suppose we have no choice but to trust you for now.” He held his broken arm, cold sweat running down his body as he held back pain, “But you owe us for back at the house-”

Justin frowned thinking about how, in the long run, they didn't really have the rooms to make demands, but alas he did need them, and he did feel bad, so he agreed with a sigh. “Alright, but you have to remain quiet. If we are found it wont be pretty for any of us. I might be able to lie my way out of it, but you two would be the next meal.”

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

The two nodded, understanding quite well. Justin motioned for them to follow; scouting ahead making sure no one unwanted saw them together. They snuck around the building quietly dodging red eyes and hiding in the shadows,

Once they had reached an exit, Justin quickly ushered them outside, sprinting into the surrounding forests.

They reached a decent place to stop for a short rest.

Alex looked up at Justin, “Well then that’s that. We are going home, right?”

Justin frowned a bit, “I am sorry to say, but I won’t be taking you back to your village at this time. I am taking you both to the camp; I have some people you need to meet. Hopefully they got the note of our arrival with the report Anna sent in- He should be arriving here soon now. This is the rendezvous point.”

As he said this rustling sounded through the forest. Eve jumped up in alarm, “W-Whats that sound?! You-”

He glared at Justin, “You bastard! Did you lead us into a trap?!” Eve exclaimed in anger.

Justin shook his hands in front of himself, “No! No! I swear! That’s probably-”

He was cut off as a fox emerged from the undergrowth with an abnormal fur color of baby blue and light pink. It walked in front of Justin and sat on his foot.

He went rigid, then let out a small laugh, “Sir- must you scare them like that? You’re gonna get me killed one day-”

The fox chuckled; his pink ears twitching. The creature looked up at the man, his purple eyes shinning in the moonlight. “Where’s the fun in that?” He spoke in a human’s tongue.

Eve jumped back, “What the fuck?! H-How is that fox talking?” The man yelped in exclamation.

“It’s not truly all that shocking is it? Hmmmm however i suppose you humans don’t see marvels like me often.” The fox teased before stepping forward. The sounds of bones crunching and creaking sounded from the creatures body as his limbs grew longer. Hair grew on his head, still that baby blue and light pink, and his fur shrunk in. A green hoodie covered his body as the creatures form became more human like. Khaki pants covered his long legs and his tail grew longer.

In the fox’s place now stood a young man with that same strange colored hair falling around his face. His purple eyes were sharp and slanted. He gave a sharp toothed grin,

“Is this any better?”

Eve glanced over at Alex, who looked nauseous. “God I think I’m gonna be sick- This is like something out of animorphs-”

The red-headed man gave a small laugh before glancing back over at the fox man and Justin.

“Who are you?” Eve asked him.

The fox man thing offered a small laugh, “This humble one is none other than Flower Takahashi- A general in the great resistance. Your friend Justin here is a colleague of mine!”

Alex frowned, “That- Thing- Is as far from a friend as you can get- don’t lump us in with him.”

Flower gave a soft sigh and a pitying look towards Justin, then looked back to Alex and Eve,

“Alright then, friend or not- he was under my orders to find someone; though somethings seemed to have gone off track, many apologies. I hope we can all get along in the future. I-”

The man froze and his ears twitched as his violet eyes scanned the brush and tree’s around them. “We have to get out of this area. There are undesirables closing in slowly- I know you guys don’t trust us yet- but stay here and you are surly to die. Follow me.”

Flower turned his heel and ran back the way he came. Eve hesitated, casting a glace over at Alex, then darted after the general.

“Oh come on- you can’t be serious- Eve-!” Alex gave chase and Jusin followed the boot, keeping his sharp ears tuned for anyone or anything that might chase.
