Weiss , Arc 2: Into the Game
Chapter 1 : Breaking Bad
...
----------------------------------------
Just like in a bad joke, an Elf, a Woman and a Vampire walked into a abandoned inn, all broke, disrespected and in debt. They carried boxes of alchemical equipment, shifting them one by one into the site. Clinking of test tubes and beakers rattled along the dingy corridors of this small derelict building they took temporary shelter in.
Given how small and decrepit this sad little complex was, even if they set up lab in this dank Kitchen, their sleeping quarters will smell like decade-old expired pesticide mixed with sewage water at the end of this, but the fines placed on their heads forbid them for ever leaving the city until they paid their due.
"I…think that was all to it."
Eferdora said as she was slightly slouched in between pants , her clothes drenched in sweat. The sun over the Capital turned their room into miniature oven. The only thing they can rely on was their water skin and the weak wind blowing from the opened window.
Weiss put both hands on the wooden table, she look at her reflection off the smooth volumetric flask, and caressed gently its curvaceous surface. The shiny glass reacts with a cold soothing feel.
All those memories from her past, back when she was teaching chemistry she tried to smuggle her high school's lab equipment into a RV where she cooked her first pure batch, later on moving onto a super lab under a generous patron, and then losing it all.
The hand that was on her flask wore her golden ring, which stood for the original reason she ever got into this dirty business. Now it is just a pure reminder of what used to be, a relic from a place he can never go back, nor she wanted to.
Then she surveyed the rows and tables of chemistry equipment set up. Jars with labels , tubes and mortars. Then back at the ring that was clamp down on her finger, it's golden shine reflects on the glassware and smites her face.
Maybe just one more cook, one more score, then she leave this country and life for another.
"Hey,"
Weiss called out to her other two partners in crime, handing the protection masks to them each. However this time, the beaks holding the protection talismans were broken, replaced by some weird flat fabric as a padding. Now they resembled more like the modern gas masks than plague doctors masks of the old.
"Now these things will actually filter against fumes, even if improvised they can still work fairly better than whatever those paper strips do."
"Right…"
Sally flip the mask to examine it slightly, before putting it on. Eferdora followed suit, alongside their aprons and leather gloves.
"Well, let us begin."
As the stove was lit, minerals get smashed and crushed by mortars. Acid and other chemicals brew and bubbled in boiling flask. White fumes rose up again in glass tubes, but this time the Vampire's sharp eyes has caused no mistakes, the temperature and pressure were just right on mark. Weiss tilted her head to inspect, approving eyes behind those lenses examines her, the former teacher nods approvingly.
Meanwhile, different plates of fine coloured powder Eferdora crushed weighted on the balancing scale, no longer chunks back when they were cooking the pesticide.
All of these artisan chemicals, solutions and acid were mixed and funneled down, then dripped carefully into a cauldron for reduction. Outside, a greenish smoke rose out from the moss-covered chimney.
After all that, both Weiss and Sally poured a sticky blue slime all over a tray while Eferdora spread them orderly with a spoon. They repeat the process a dozen times, and left the results on a old bakery drawer and shelves.
"I-I…think that's all to it."
Eferdora breathlessly, raising her mask up slightly. The trio eyed the intimidating number of trays with those blue stuff. The light from the opened window reflected and refracted on these masterpieces they made. All those trays glows in a brilliant blue that lit up the room.
Weiss sat on a shaking wooden chair with a exhausted huff, wiping the sweat on her brow.
"So…what did we made this time Ms Weiss?"
"Methamphetamine…or Meth."
"What?"
The Vampire turned to the trays in awe. Even from this distance, with her undead nostrils, she can still smell the alluring odor.
"Whatever you are thinking girls. Don't. Consume. The. Product. For your health and for our financial health."
Weiss warned, still on her chair.
"One whiff, you will be hook up on it and turned into that sad thing we met on the street that was hooked to that black trash thing. Also, you will be whiffing away grands upon grands of dollars even if it was a pinch."
She continued, only serves to horrify the elf.
"So…you are t-telling me Weiss-san, we are dealing d-drugs? T-This feels wrong! We shouldn't…"
Eferdora looked at the trays with widen eyes and her mouth agape, she looked at her gloved hands with disgust. The poor elf started trembling, looking down at her shaky hands then back at the tray of crystals they made.
Looking at this, Weiss sprung up from her chair and stood in between of the Elf and her drugs. Grabbing the short Elf by her shoulders, the former teacher spoke in a soft tone.
"Hey hey, Listen Eferdora, I need you to think hard about this. We are doing a right thing here and we need the money!"
The Elf looked at Weiss and broke out of her trance a bit.
"There will always be…a drug on the streets. Cocaine, heroin and weed whatever. This Black Dust turns people into zombies, and shrunk their brain and basically kills them. This Meth we made, sure it's addictive and have a few side effects, but it is much safer and cleaner and it WILL NOT shrink your brain. Consenting adults want what they want, and if we are not supplying it, they will get it somewhere else. At least with me- I mean us, they're getting exactly what they pay for. "
Eferdora blinked her watery eyes at Weiss, who grunt slightly and continued with a big infectious smile on her face.
"Hey, what about I tell you a story, there was this country near my own called Germany. Few decades ago, we were in a major war with each other and the German Army are looking for a wonder drug to make them into more efficient fighters. So, they made meth, and gave them out to the troops like candies."
"Germ-mans … A-Army…?"
"...in the end of the day they are drugs and they do have side effects, but what kind of self-respecting Military gives harmful things to their military in the middle of the biggest war they fought? Especially when back then the Germans were one of the world's mightiest Armies and they kicked ass! They called meth… Stuka-Tablets and Herman-Goering Pills! Are you…following me?"
The Elf nods repeatedly.
"One last thing, we are not drug-dealers, we are manufacturers. AND this is temporary, once we earn`t enough we can be anything and anyone, free to live our lives as we pleased away from this drugs. You can even set up a legitimate bakery for once."
"J…just temporary?"
"Yea, just temporary."
Weiss carefully let go of the Elf , who was still stuck in a fog of guilt and confusion.
"Uh Ms Weiss?"
The Chemist turned back at the shelves and racks; she needs to adjust her glasses a bit. Even as a Woman of Science, the scene before her was supernatural, near unbelievable.
On each and every one of the trays was blue quartz, brilliant blue quartz the size and height of birthday cakes. The crystals will sell as well as jewelry rather than their original purpose. Taking a small hammer, Weiss gently took out a tray of the Meth cluster, and carefully chipped away a spike. As the Chemist carefully sniffed it, she dropped it in shock.
"What? What happened Ms Weiss?"
Sally rushed to the Chemist, who stood as still as a statue.
"It's one hundred percent pure, it is one hundred percent pure…in a solid state. This, this is impossible, but we did it."
"Is it a good thing or…"
"Good thing? We made the best damn drug ever in existence!"
Weiss cheered, her infectiousness cause Sally to smile and join in the celebration! The two hi-five together, before regaining their composure.
"So, what now? Ms Weiss?"
"We find a distributor. Someone who have the logistics and means to pay us, and help us to distribute. Those black dust guys, they must have someone or some group spreading them… we can probably track down a dealer and they lead us to their boss."
"So Ms Weiss, where do we start?"
Opening the loosely hinged doors, the trio were greeted by rows of homeless people, and many, many addicts, all dressed in rags or other sorts of ragged clothing. The group stuck out like a sore thumb. Some of the slum dwellers looks like they could stab them just for mere copper pieces. Fortunately for our aspiring drug manufacturers, they have nothing much to rob, and the shabby slave wagon was hidden in the inn and padlocked, a courtesy from the late slavers.
It wasn't very hard to find someone poor sap drinking those black dust water, lying at alleyway drooling staring at nothing. The three towered over this poor sap, whose irises does respond to the change in environment.
Sally and Eferdora exchanged uncomfortable eye contracts. Weiss gently slapped the man's cheek to catch his attention. No response, those black dust already turned the poor bastard into a vegetable.
"Well, guess he can't help us."
Weiss sighed in disappointment, then Sally pointed behind her.
"How about that lady over there, she is still standing and seem to be on that black stuff."
The three turned to a twitching wild haired woman who was barely standing on her scrawny feet. She was dressed in rags and wore a dull weathered iron plate, she had a crossbow hitched on her belt. She was someone who had definitely seen better days. Worth a shot, Sally shrugged her shoulder this time volunteered to approach the junkie.
"Hey uh Miss? Can I ask you…"
"VAMPIREEEEEE! MOHNSSTTEEERR! I-I-I WILL KILL YOU!"
The ex-adventurer pulled out the crossbow, much to the horror of trio, especially for Sally who eyed the tip of the weapon with widen eyes. Then the madden woman redirect her weapon at Weiss and Eferdora, glaring at them with dilated and bloodshot eyes.
"And OUUUU, EVUL HAGGGS AND SUCCUUBUS, Y-You are ALL WANTING TO GIT ME HUH! I WON'T RUN , I AM ROT IKE THAT COW BRITT…BRITTA."
The "Hag" Weiss and "Succubus" Eferdora gave each other an awkward look, then back to the madwomen. Whose crossbow bolt and insanity still poses a threat, although how well she can aim and shoot was another question completely given her current state. She had cracked lips, itchy inflamed skin and wild dilated, bloodshot eyes.
"Listen, w-we want no trouble."
The ex-adventurer whose crossbow still pointed at the party despite Weiss's pleas, her grip shook a bit. She started to break down in tears and her mouth foamed a bit, her runny nose dripping with mucus.
Weiss took this opportunity to reach for her Browning Hi-Power, in the break before arriving here, she already made an improvised magazine, a vail of gun powder and a sufficient amount of bullets. Although she eased hand when she realize they already lost their unstable assailant's attention.
"I-I am sorry… I couldn't save them… all of them died…and that b-BITCH RATTED THEM OUT! E-RANTEL, I SHOULD NEVER GO THERE…NEVER NEVER IT'S A BAD PLACE."
Weiss tapped Eferdora and Sally's shoulder, using eye gestures to signal to the two, and the three took this opportunity to sneak away a few steps away from the unstable woman.
"I DON'T WANT TO LIVE ANYMORE, I- DOoooOOOOoooOOOON'T WANT LIVE ANYMORE!"
The ex-adventurer pointed the crossbow to her head and pulled the trigger.
"Oh no!"
"Jesus!"
"..."
Eferdora , Weiss and Sally halted by the performance of the poor soul before them. The crossbow, as neglected as the poor woman, had its bowstring snapped before the bolt can fire. The bolt harmless fell to the ground with a ping.
Eferdora let out a sigh of relief.
The Woman let out a blood-curdling scream, fell to her kneels and began slamming her head onto the rough cobblestone pavement as the three watched in horror.
Splat!

Splat!
Splat!
Weiss, no stranger to Junkies or drug-addicted psychopathic criminals back in America, had broke a sweat at this sight. Her mouth subconsciously formed an toothless "O". A drop of blood splat on Weiss's left glass lens.
The poor ex-adventurer became silent and still as froze on her kneeling position while her head was touching ground face down, lying on a mixture of filth, blood and mucus. Weiss took out a handkerchief to wipe away that spot of blood from her glasses, then adjusted it slightly a bit.
"I…I don't think we can do much to help her now. L-Let's find another lead."
Eferdora's face turned green as she walked near a gutter vomited. However, all around them, no one seemed to care, some passing slum-dwellers just gave the ex-adventurer a lazy glare before heading their own way. It was then the trio also notice, from the buzzing of flies, there were even a few corpses around the alleyway rotting. No noticeable gashes were found but Weiss perfectly knew what was the cause : overdosing.
Sally , for the first time in her life, learn`t what disgust truly felt.
Weiss on the other hand , turned her head slightly and walked towards that direction. A shady cloaked man passing pouches of black stuff to the slum dwellers.
"Bingo."
She immediately approached the man who turned to her with a slimy smile.
"Are you here for the good stuff?"
Weiss, surveyed the man with her bespectacled eyes. He was wearing a black cloak, tattoos resembling a hand with eight fingers spider all over his body. A dagger was holstered to his waist. The Chemist then look up to his face, while he was definitely healthier than the other slum dwellers, he still have similar features to a black dust addict with his cracked lips and reddish itching skin.
"No, I am here to sell. I would like to meet with your higher ups for a business opportunity that may interest us both."
Sally at this time moment helped her elven friend recover from her gag reflexes. Right on time to witness this entire debacle unfold.
"Oh are you now? You don't look like you are around here, nor you looked the type."
"Trust me, I have experience in this. Just get me to your boss."
"I don't think so women," The dealer pulled out his dagger a pointed her throat. "I think you must be one of the Golden Princess's bitches are you?"
At this sight, Sally immediately summoned her lance and pointed it at the dealer, only for Weiss to raise a arm to hold her off. Despite all this, the Chemist not only kept her composure, even smirked at her potential assailant.
"I don't know who this Golden Princess is, assuming she is a cop or a rival, trust me I am not."
"Yea and how can you prove it?"
Weiss carefully reached into her coat, pausing when the dagger was pointed closer.
"Please."
The Dealer rolled his eyes, and move the dagger slightly away.
Weiss pulled out a small pouch of blue crystals, toss it to the Dealer who caught it with one hand.
"What is this?"
"The Good stuff, I called it Blue Sky, one taste and you will know."
The Dealer eyed at the bespectacled woman with hesitance and suspicion.
"I don't trust you, you try it first, how do I know it is poisoned."
"I can't. I am the cook, and cooks need to keep a straight head. A pro back in my days once said, they don't work with junkies."
"Oh yea, and I can just stab you right here right now."
The dealer closes in, Sally did the same, Eferdora yelped with fear. Only for Weiss to be calmly look at the tip of the dagger with a hint of bemusement.
"Inside that bag, is a hundred grams of blue crystal meth, more than enough to share. And this place is filled with willing volunteers."
The Dealer looks around his surroundings, at the corpses of the overdose, the poor adventurer who committed suicide through blunt force trauma, and multiple living dwellers and junkies.
"So you are saying…"
"It is a free sample after all."
The Dealer glanced at a random dweller and whistled him to come close. The trio observed a poor sucker got close to the dealer, without much effort in convincing , the poor sucker took the free sample for free.
"You snort it or smoke it, no need the use of water." Weiss instructed just before the dweller to dip the meth in water.
As the ragged man snort the crystals, he immediately jolted up with a energized vigor. The former slouching man let out a big "WOOO" and became extremely jumpy with a big satisfied smile on his face.
"P-please tell me you have more of that stuff."
"No , no stock , now scram."
"Please man… I know … you have more…" The dweller begged.
The Dealer immediately pointing his knife at the dweller, this is extremely effective in scaring the poor bastard away. Pressing a finger to a nostril, he inhaled the last remaining meth with the other, a wave of pleasure hit the man like chariot of goodness and the dealer eyes widen and dilate as he broke into a tap dance.
"Yea! Yea! YEA! This…this is the best stuff I ever had. My head has never felt clear, it is like I became GOD! O-oh my, yea you have a deal. Wait I recognize you three…now I remembered you three."
Weiss tilted her head.
"You were the adventurers who got banned from the adventurer guild and got your asses kicked by that Dark Hero guy."
"Now…"
Weiss's smile weakened a bit and her eyes darkened a little, but it remained nonetheless.
"Hey it's ok, I don't judge, and people will probably forget you in a week or so. However because of your recent "fame", you need to reach this place with a low profile."
The Dealer turned around and pulled out a pen and paper, scribbling something on it, he handed the note to Weiss.
"When midnight hits, bring a pound of that blue stuff to the farm the south of this place, it is a nearest one next to an small abandoned temple so you won't miss it. But remember to use the tunnel stated on this map here. I will set you up with one of the Big Ones first since the big boss of the Drug Division is busy. I look forward to more of that blue stuff man."
"Yea sure."
Weiss took the note as the Dealer left the trio with a bright crazed smile. A fly has already landed on the corpse of that former adventurer, a induction of it alongside the other lost souls and cadavers in this forsaken place.
"I still not sure about this…" Eferdora looked around her.
"You will get used to it." Weiss said, to both Sally and Eferdora.
Sally gulped, giving one last glance to that dead adventurer. Something about her strikes the Vampire the wrong way for some reasons. Some reasons she yet to know.
This felt like one of the many wrongs she needed to right, but will this pile on onto her mountain of sins with an unknown height?
"Just…temporary." She repeated Weiss's words to herself.
…
…
…
Night strikes, with a lantern, Weiss shone a light to a graffiti of a hand with eight fingers, pried open a grate with ease and climbed down, Eferdora who also brought a lantern struggled to climbed down the rusty latches and began her crawl as well.
She felt something poke her behind, in this claustrophobic tunnel. Turning behind she yelped in fear when she spot two red glowing eyes staring back at her. Only for it to blink twice as it got closer to Eferdora's lantern to reveal it to be none other than Sally, with her bag of meth. The two just merely exchanged a look of mutual understanding as they continued their crawl.
The tunnel was a pathetically short one with a one way route, leading them right to the entrance of a gigantic farm with acres upon acres of land. The farm have patrolling city guards, Weiss didn't need to be a DEA agent to know that those guards were definitely dirty. Taking in a deep breath, Weiss and her partners step into the farm.
Two of the guards immediately greeted them.
"Two Woman and one girl, so you bunch were the ones that cook the blue stuff that I heard of?"
Sally opened the bag slightly to show the glittering blue crystals. The Guard nodded and gestures the trio to follow them.
The farm was obnoxiously huge, you don't need a satellite or spy planes to spot it. Even at this time, impoverished farmers that looked skeletal and frail were toiling the fields of poppy, overlooked by gorilla faced guards. The only positive thing Weiss can say about this place was that there was no shortage of armed guards, even through it was an obscene amount of them though easy to raise suspicions even from a toddler.
This whole place was the DEA's biggest wet dream.
"Amateurs." Weiss muttered.
They were led to a manor, a luxurious place lined with baroque interior decor and fine porcelain. A contrast from the slums the trio exited. They were led up the stairs to a conference room, where a handsome man dressed in a flashy black matador with golden embroideries. He had red flaming hair and a womanizer demeanor, a rapier was holstered on his belt.
"Greetings my name is Malmvist of a Thousand Kills, I am part of the Six Arms, Security Division of the Eight Fingers."
"Heisenberg, those two are Camilla and Legolas respectively."
Weiss shook hands with the member of the six arms. The Elf now known as "Legolas" sweat at slightly on her chair, Sally "Camilla" put an hand over her lap to soothe her partner's anxiety.
"I apologize that the Drug Division was held up by other matters now, so I was assigned for this meet up."
"No matter, although I am guessing the real reason why I meet with you isn't because they ain't held up."
"Oh? Enlighten me then Ms Heisenberg."
"You did so, because of this Golden Princess issue. You are clearly a hitman for the gang, not an bookie or a don. As you said, Security division, meaning you are on high alert, bad things happened a lot recently these days for you people. Who is this Golden Princess anyway?"
The Matador burst into a laughter.
"You act like you know a lot, yet you don't even know who the Golden Princess."
"We are foreigners after all. And since we will be working together, it's best if there is an mutual understanding."
"The Golden Princess, is really a princess, goes by the name of Renner Theiere Chardelon Ryle Vaiself. A true piece of work , abolishes slave trade, showing her pretty faces in phony charities that doesn't last longer than a month and written a hundred laws to make our lifes worse! She may fool the common idiots, but not us!"
"Slave trade?"
Weiss frowned slightly, stealing a glance to Eferdora, then back Malmvist.
"And recently she hired a adamantine adventurer group called Blue Rose to burn our farms. God knows what's going on with her, sure she's a "spares of the spares" in royalty. But her doing this only sets her away from other nobles, could have live the rest of her life sheltered. What a goody-two shoes fool."
"I leant that nothing in this world is free, and nothing is too good to be true. Best not let your guard down. Sometimes even a fried chicken hawker and some crippled old fart are deadly, speaking from personal experience. You being here shows … great wisdom and professionalism from your organization."
"Yea, can't agree less. You know I am starting to like you, Heisenberg. Now let's talk business."
Sally placed the huge pound of crystal meth with ease.
"So this is what got that guy so jumpy."
Malmvist grab a huge meth quartz from the bag, turn it around to inspect it, before putting it back.
"Doesn't melt your brain, but feel twice the better."
"I will pay two hundred and thirty for this pound , and the same amount for subsequent pounds per month ."
Both Eferdora and Sally gasped at the price. Despite her initial anxiety of entering this place, the Elf broke into a huge smile.
"Two hundred and thirty…Heisenberg-san, this is amazing, this may be the first time I ever seen this much a amount!"
"It's not enough."
Sally's and Eferdora's smile fell short immediately. They turned to Weiss in horror and shock.
"Ms We-I mean Ms Heisenberg, I beg of you, don't screw this up for us again. Last time you complained all three of us got banned because of it. This is good enough."
Eferdora was starting to have panic attack on her chair.
"So Heisenberg, how much do you propose?"
"One point two million dollars."
This caught Malmvist and Sally off guard slightly.
"What? What is even a dollar? We don't deal in foreign currency beside the standard pieces."
Heisenberg with a unchanging smile, merely bend forward slightly and clasped her hands together. The fire from candle reflects on her glasses.
"By rough estimations of year 2009, One of these gold pieces equates to seven hundred and fifty United States Dollars, hence I want a thousand and six hundred gold pieces as a upfront payment."
Sally face palmed, angry murmurs from Malmvist's bodyguards resounded from the conference room. The Six Arm lost his smile.
"And what if we say no."
"Then we will take that meth and leave. We both can pretend this never happened at all. However, you will lose that prospective weekly of two thousand and eight hundred gold pieces."
"And if we make your payment into merely you three not dying?"
Malmvist reaches for his rapier, and his goons did the same. Sally summoned her lance, Weiss's palm was already resting on the handle of her Browning Hi-Power. No distress ever came out of Weiss, only her smile slightly wavered.
"It is true that I may probably die, and I can only take out one or two of your men if I am lucky. Although then there's Camilla."
Malmvist looked at Heisenberg Scarfed companion with the lance. The shortest of the three.
"Yea, what about her?"
"She's a vampire."
"What, Ms Heisenberg! Why!"
Sally was surprised that her Companion blew her cover without a much of a thought. Gritting her teeth and glaring at Weiss with widen eyes. Her sharp fangs nearly tore her scarf.
"She can take out ten or fifty of your men, and probably set your entire farm in fire or cause enough noise. Even if, that's a big IF, you somehow managed to kill Camilla here… doesn't matter. This farm will become one big burning bloody beacon for the Golden Princess's own goons to claim, even if it was not her those other fatherless bastards from the Adventurer's Guild turn this place into a Vampiric open season hunting ground. To make things worse, the world famous Dark Hero Moron is in town today. Now how big is this place again?"
Weiss stood up and glare into Malmvist's soul, towering him, her smile had vaporized , revealing her true face… a scowling , angry and wild look. A need to be the true alpha of the room, the true essence of Heisenberg.
"Acres, Acres and Acres of Poppy, lost just like that. Even if you bribed the entire city, it will not stop your lost of a thousand gold worth land. In other words, you won't only lose your prospective weekly of two thousand and eight hundred, but everything else we are standing on right here, So thread lightly Malmvist."
Even Malmvist's bodyguards sweat slightly at Heisenberg's performance. The Matador had his lip sealed for a moment.
Then he let out a hearty laugh.
"Jan, get this women her thousand and six hundred."
A bald henchmen was took aback from his superior's order.
"Boss? Why?"
"Did I stuttered? This Heisenberg here have real balls, something I wish more among us have! She earn`t her due."
It didn't took long for someone to present the trio with a bag as big as a overgrown pumpkins. The gold pieces within shone a hypnotic glitter that nearly blinded Weiss eyes. It felt like she unlocked those big treasure trove from one of those Clint Eastwood movies. She sunk both of her hands into this body of gold, few inches deep, feeling the pieces. Eferdora's heart beat faster at this sight while even Sally will have difficulty carrying this bag.
For a moment, the blinding shine of the gold neutralized the one from the ring on Heisenberg's hand.
"So I guess we will be expecting a pound next week?"
Heisenberg nods.
"Well nice doing business with you Heisenberg." Malmvist said with an endearing grin.
The trio left the conference room and into the dark corridors of this seedy manor. Heisenberg held the bag of gold on her shoulders whistling. Eferdora glad it was all over. Sally didn't said a word after the meeting, her red glowing eyes served as enough illumination alongside the moon.
"Are we alone Heisenberg?"
The Chemist darted her eyes left and right, then shrugged her shoulders.
"Yea."
A resounding slap sent a mini shockwave across the halls as Heisenberg were sent flying , slamming onto a wall. The bag of gold was dropped and a fistful of it were spilled on the carpeted floor of the manor.
"Heisenberg-san!"
The Chemist was still alive, holding onto the bruised side of her cheek and picking up her spectacles. She was then grabbed by her collar by her assailant. It was none other than Sally herself, teary but furious red eyes glared back at her.
"What… the… HELL…was…that?"
"Listen S-Sally, think with a clear head, I know you are upset that I used your identity as a Vampire as a negotiation edge…BUT RIGHT NOW YOU ARE OVERREACTING!"
At the tone of Heisenberg's voice , Sally loosen her grip slightly.
"Use your head and think, these people are scumbag criminals. They don't operate as normal citizens or even adventurers, they don't give a damn whether you are undead or not. Hell, in fact after they knew it seems like they respect you more. We ballooned the measly hundred piece into a thousand, like a blowfish. They respect us, which is something we need if we want to live through all this in one piece!"
The Vampire looked away from the pleading blue eyes of Heisenberg.
"You are being very dramatic right now, you are being paranoid and it is perfectly understandable given the situation we are in. But I need you to know, I did this for all of us, and it worked out in the end."
Sally gritted her teeth at Heisenberg's words, she could snap her neck here and now, but the confusion making her grip weaker and weaker. Something was pulling her back from the action.
"Please Sally-san , let's just go back and then we can talk about it."
The Vampire turn slightly to look at Eferdora, whose puppy eyes begs the Vampire to seek a humane route. And Heisenberg, who despite having a bruised cheek, still bears eyes of fire.
With a sigh, she let go of Heisenberg's collars and let the taller woman to fall like a sack of potatoes. A gold piece was stuck onto her fine cheek, as she peeled it off and put it inside her pocket.
"Next time, at least give me a heads-up the next time before you are planning blow someone's cover or sell someone out."
"Yea, very grateful Sally, very grateful. If it weren't for me, we wouldn't get these million, the same million that is shared with you! You want a heads-up? How about this for an heads up?!"
Heisenberg grabs her crotch and thrust it at Sally, the Vampire once blared her fangs again.
Eferdora immediately stood between them both.
"Let's just…pick up the gold and go home."
"Fine…let's just go Ms Heisenberg."
No response.
"Heisenberg?"
Both Sally and Eferdora turn to Heisenberg who was staring outside the corridors. The taller woman's mouth was agape as she pointed outside the window.
"We need to run."
Outside the window was a fallen guard with what seemed to be shurikens lodged into his head. The there was a distance there was an orange glow. The farm was on fire, they were under attack. By wit, Weiss immediately snuffed out the lanterns around them, and dived down. Putting a finger on her lips and gave a "shh" to her partners, who also followed suit.
Then there was a scream of agony, which shook Eferdora down her core.
All three poke their heads up slightly, the three stooges saw a dozen of armoured city guards and gang members come into the clear in high alert. Then a flurry of shurikens and kunais pinned the poor thugs down, leaving only one alive. In a heartbeat, A ninja girl with a blonde ponytail leapt out of the shadows and impaled the poor guard's neck with a dagger. The poor guard fell to the ground lifeless, but no blood spilled out.
The Ninja was wearing a adventurer-plate, adamantite in rank.
Heisenberg and her partner dropped back down below the window again, pressing their backs to the walls breathing heavily.
"Ninjas…are you kidding me! Fucking Ninjas! We are in Medieval Europe-ish place for fucks sake!"
"W-What do we do now Heisenberg?"
Heisenberg looked at Sally, then back Eferdora who was chewing her nails off. The bag of spilled gold lies right next to her.
