In the mobile game called tower defence, every time you killed enemy troops you gained experience to spawn villagers, merchants, foot soldiers, cavalry knights etc. But the game would only show them spawning in barracks, you didn’t actually get to see where they come from.
But from the information that entered his mind he understood that the shrine had something to do with it .
“ Well, here goes nothing “
By using this skill of his called insert, he could somehow grab all the corpses as if he had some giant hand so he threw them all in the fountain that was as big as 50 large swimming pools put together .
Once they touched the water, the corpses dematerialised and turned into that weird blue liquid that was already inside it.
“ That gotta be the most dangerous water I have ever seen in my life, Note to self: Dont drink that “
When all the bodies turned into the liquid, the ‘water’ level in the fountain rose to its maximum capacity and a new message was transmitted to his brain .
“ CONGRATULATIONS ON REACHING LEVEL 2, BASIC HOUSES, BARRACKS, SMITHY AND BASIC FARMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE “
Seeing as to how similar to the game this thing was, he started to realise how this whole thing worked.
Just like in the game, you had to grow in level to upgrade your territory .
After you do certain things you would gain gold that was used to do things like spawn troops, build certain buildings etc .
He also got more messages that taught him how to use his “ Lord class skills “ like Gift and Insert , he had a vision that served like a tutorial and taught him how to do certain things .
“ If I am stuck in some sort of dream, this is definitely a strange fucking one “
He gained access to several screen bars that would appear in front of him, but the only ones currently unlocked were “BUILDINGS” that had the new ones that he unlocked and another bar called “TREASURY” were his possessions were placed . He had gained 300 gold coins after reaching level 2 and 300 food rations . He also found out that all the skills that the 300 dead warriors and life’s experience were stored inside in the form “ skill scrolls “ , just like in the game once you killed hero level characters you gained some of their skills, but for it to work like this was very surprising .
Even though he gained many skill scrolls, they were basically horse riding skills and basic swordsmanship that he already knew.
None of the corpses were mage when alive so he didn’t get anything good, still it would be great to get absorb their life’s experience to get some more knowledge about the plains.
He grabbed the most shining scroll and received message.

“ Thenakian captain experience “
DO YOU WISH TO ABSORB ?
WARNING: Certain experience comes with memories and severe headaches.
Since he was a captain of sorts it should be worthwhile so he proceeded .
He soon found out that this captain had participated in many battles so even though he had no skills his experience would be of huge help to him.
He understood from his memories that he was just a simple muscle head captain of the Thenakian tribe, a tribe populated by 2000 people where over 1500 were warriors and the other 500 children and women slaves .
He found out that they operated like bandits, ambush other tribes steal their food and enslave their women that they used for pleasure, if they managed to get them pregnant they would train the boys to become warriors and raise the girls as slaves . What surprised him most though was the fact that their leader was a woman, yet she allowed fellow women to receive that kind of treatment.
“ I guess in a place like this you are reduced to a slave if you cant fight “
You dont survive the wilderness through kindness, besides he wasn’t dumb .
He knew that the moment that woman leader decided to stop them from enjoying the company of women, they would probably rebel. The entertainment was lacking around these parts after all and woman and food was the only drive these so called warriors had .
From the game he knew that the buildings would only be built automatically until he reached level 5 , once the territory reached that level he would have to build things with hands and use the tools himself .
In the game it took villagers over 13 days to upgrade his level 7 barracks , so he had to take advantage of his low level while he still could .
The first thing he built when he was outside were houses, each house spawned 3 villagers and the build cost was 2 gold per house .
He spent 20 gold to build 10 houses that spawned a total of 30 villagers with 20 men and 10 women , once they came to great him he soon found out that even though they spawned from the same house these people were not related to each other .
“ So what do I do? Do these guys operate like NPCs or something? Do we shake hands? “
The villagers looked at each other a bit weirdly as they saw their lord talking to himself, so they slowly walked towards him and bowed respectfully .
“ We greet the noble lord “
Seeing them bow like this gave him weird feelings, from reading books you would feel like this level of respect was great but when it happened to you in real life it was kind of cringe .
He hurriedly told them to stand up and tried to engage in conversation with them.
It did not take long for him to understand that they were actual people, not robots programmed to operate a certain way .
And he did that by asking all of them the exact same question , many answered in a different way. If they were NPCs like in the game they would have given him the same programmed response no matter how many times he asked them .
He decided to give 4 houses to the women to live and the remaining houses to men.
The women were grateful to him for respecting their privacy, it would be weird for a woman to live with 2 strangers in a house after all, things would happen .
After telling them that they were to help around with the farming, and giving each house enough rations to last for 7 days, he went to find a location appropriate enough for him to plant crops .
In the game you just basically built these farms anywhere but he planned on building a whole city in his current location which is why he found a place few kilometres away to build the farms .
Since there was not a single living soul around these parts, he wasn’t worried of someone ‘raiding’ his farms.
After all as defenceless as he was even if he decided to protect them he couldn’t do much by himself, so he equipped the “ Fuck It “ mentality and went for it.
Planting wheat or rice cost you 1gold while planting grapes and other fruits cost you 2 gold, so he built 10 farmlands that grew wheat, 10 that grew rice , and 5 others that would grow oranges, grapes or apples in random .
After spending 20 gold on houses and 30 gold on farmlands, he was now left with 250 gold .
