Prologue. 01 - The lonely elegy

"Father is such a one-eyed asshole"

Splish! Splash!

"Leaving me here for all eternity, without even giving me a friend to hang out with"

Sniff...  Sniffle...

"~I am Hel the Dark One, and I will get you all.

Every man and woman must come into my hall,

the young ones and the old ones, and I will not let you go,

even if all the worlds should weep for you.~"

Yes, I am Hel, I am death, I am the end of all those who possess the essence of life, forced to devour the wicked, torture the damned and dissolve their sins.

I am a young god cursed to be trapped in this wretched plane, all because I was born with the power to easily raze my enemies, fear was brought upon my brothers and sisters and my useless father was forced to leave me here all alone.

A castle of brimstone and blood rose from this empty wasteland when I first arrived, fueled by my rage and grief my power created a kingdom of my own, where i greet those lost and innocent back to where they're supposed to go and to those of eroding souls shall know the reason why I am called the Goddess of Death.

"~I am Hel the Beautiful, be greeted and come in.

Enjoy my hospitality together with your kin.

Your ancestors are sitting next to Balder in the light,

I bid you welcome - I am Hel the Bright.~"

Death always holds a purpose and a cause in every person, one I've always encountered from a few wandering souls was their Love.

I heard from one of them that there was another undead plane similar to mine, a place called the Underworld, according to the old soul while my plane is all eternal ghost flames, searing brimstone, felhounds and carnage.

The Underworld was a place of pure judgement, souls put under trial for their sins and separated into different places of torture and agony in order to purify them.

I thought it was a done deal for me to meet with the owner of the Underworld, Hades but the old soul told me of his wife and that I look years younger than his current form, so that's that, no trying to seduce him, but I wonder if I can meet any interesting wandering souls that would tell tales, ironic to the saying 'Dead men tell no tales' they are quite chatty about rumors and deaths.

Here I am walking on the shores of Phlegethon, a river of liquid hellfire running along the straits of the underworld, I heard this stuff was collected and used upon tortured souls so they would drift off and vanish easily when they purify them, basically the river has healing properties, in exchange the person would feel his throat seared and burnt as if he was trying to swallow live fire, though they'd come out unscathed, the thing about agony and torture is, they tend to focus on dealing the least amount of damage physically as to make the victim last longer, in order for them to have more time to break them psychologically.

Just as I was about to tear off my dress and take a little dip.

I felt a little heartbeat resound throughout the dimension, faint, but loud enough to be noticed,  a strong one with tons of essence pulsating within it, if I was only a mere minor god then I wouldn't be able to sense this.

What excitement will I meet if I follow this resounding pulse, I could already feel my blood boiling, I'm trembling in delight for once in my life!

I must find it!

The place of birth!

The birth of a new celestial!

After a hundreds of centuries, another like me will be born!

Soon.

I will finally  have a new friend, one that will never toss me away, never wither, never take me for granted, and never be afraid of my presence!

But....

will his celestial parent even accept me with the new godling?

I wish I wasn't born like this.

Goddess of carnage and death

I find a broken mirror half buried in soulstone, there stood a young lady staring back at me with scarlet red irises, her lips stained with blood, pale skin of death wearing a ghostly white silk dress stained from all the gore back home.

"I wonder... "

walking up the stairs towards the underworld's exit

"if the godling is a he, will 'he' be my fated true love"

the sun's rays pass through my skin as if there wasn't anything there to begin with

"I wish he would accept me in this world, this world of the living"
