After the war, I stayed near the Nest to protect it. Even though in Original Series, King born without a problem, in this World, if Hunter Association were to send an army, things may go differently, giving that Nest was weakened with the war just took place.
Even though both Royal Guards were born at the moment, I still felt like it would be safer to stay in guard, until the King's born. When Netero wanted to attack Meruem, Colt said, even the Royal Guards aura felt stronger than Netero's, but Netero had too many hidden moves under his sleeves Colt didn't know, so it wasn't guaranteed that Royal Guards could defend the Nest, if Hunter Association brings full war.
I still believe there isn't anyone as strong as the King in all World, because of even the one of the strongest Nen user in this World, Netero, the leader of the Hunter Association died in the hands of Meruem. And from what Crow told me, Meruem didn't fight at all. He wasn't willing to kill a man in Netero's caliber, because, at that stage of the story, Meruem started to change.
Meruem was cruel being. When he first born, he never cared for anyone but himself. When he born, he killed those who weak and useless to him. Even one of the Royal Guards punched to death by him. He even said he hit to destroy Royal Guard's head, but because Royal Guard was strong, Meruem praised the Royal Guard instead.
Meruem, just after his birth, pulled off his mother's, Queen of the Chimera Ant's arm and tried to eat it, and spit back because it was disgusting. The journey brought him from this wicked personality to the one I admire wasn't long at all. In a mere few months, Meruem changed dramatically, and the one caused all of this was a clumsy, neglected, blind girl.
In this harsh World, being a blind was a burden to most of the families. Growing up in such an environment, Komugi used to act accordingly. When she made a mistake, she apologized thousand times. When she wasn't useful, she wanted to create something she was best to prove her usefulness. This psychological burden forced her subconsciously to be best at the game Gungi.
Gungi was an onboard game, special to this world. It was mostly based on tactics and imagination. Despise the fact that she was blind, Komugi was champion in this game, and this game was the only way how she proved her usefulness. As she put it, "There's a saying among players, "A Gungi king is a mere mortal once he's lost." If I lose... I'm worthless."
This notion made her create her Nen, without she even realize it and it was related to her Gungi talent, making her create and simulate countless of possibility as if she was playing all of them. It may seem unrelated, but when Meruem realized that, he thought about another possibility.
"I learned from Komugi that different kinds of "strengths" exist. On my way here... I killed a child. She perhaps could have one day been superior to me in some aspect. And I plucked off that bud. For no reason. Just like that." At first, Meruem was satisfied with his might. He was able to kill someone, may overshadow him someday, yet he was the King of this World, he was the judge of life. Yet this kind of thought changed in time. After all, he was only three months old at that time, and he was evolving to the man I admired slowly.

"I am king. But... who am I really...? Why am I here? For what reason was I born?" This thought forced Meruem to think about his mission in this World. As later, he decided to be the King of the World. Because he could bring the peace. When Meruem realized this World was divided into parts by some men call themselves Kings, and they were the weakest among humanity. All these Kings were doing was torture people and enjoy the world, while their subjects were working their ass out. This made Meruem think something else.
"Your society has "international borders"... partitions dividing the world into little boxes. To the right side of the border, children starve to death. To the left, the idle dregs of mankind feast on excess. It is sheer madness. I will destroy all borders. I can give you, if not perfect equality, a world without unjust want!" He decided to be the King of the World, to make it just for every living being...
In this three months, not much happened. Netero came with two others as he did in Original Series. They started to kill foot soldiers to slowly weaken the Chimera Army. And when King born, all of them froze to death. Just the King's Aura was enough to scare them out of their wits. King killed his mother, Hunter Association tried to save her in exchange for Colt's help. Colt was the first human-Chimera Ant mix race. The girl I saved was his sister, and I didn't save the boy for this very reason, because Colt has to much impact on the story.
After Queen breathed her last, another Chimera Ant born, she was Kite, reborn after death. Colt swore to protect her as he did in original series. Because even before he become Chimera Ants, all he thinks of was protecting those close to him, after he became Chimera Ant he swore to protect the Queen but failed to do so, after that he swore to protect Kite
King only took three Royal Guardian to find a new Nest. Unlike her mother, his human sides made him disdain Nest built from mud. He flew with the help of Royal Guards and killed on his way, and flew again all the way to the capital. And there he took over a palace. Later, the other Chimera Ants started to come to King, because Queen was dead. While King was learning the world, with the help of the board games, and won against all of the Champions in their respective games. Except for Komugi.
He couldn't win against Komugi, no matter what. Meruem was a born genius. He could read his opponents, he was a mastermind in battle tactics. Yet, in the game of Gongi, he couldn't win against a clumsy, blind woman. While his character was reshaping with Komugi, Netero and his gang planned their raid. Because Royal Guards created a plan to produce Chimera Ants from humans, and lure all of the residences in the Country, giving no other chance but annihilate the King and his guards.
On the day they planned to take action, the Hunter Association attacked. With the Zeno's magnificent attack "Dragon Dive" the rain of light poured upon the Palace. Netero hired Zeno to create a distraction, and it created something they couldn't even imagine. Dragon Dive injured Komugi, forced Neferpitou to treat her. Because of this, King fought with Netero alone.
Even when I said fight, it was a skill display match. Netero used all of his arsenals, while Meruem was sitting, still couldn't even hurt Meruem. King, on the other hand, displayed his mastermind and saw through Netero's moves one by one, even though they were at the speed of light. Meruem was reluctant to fight, because of his new point of view. He wasn't created to kill, he was the King of all, yet Netero was ready to die.
When he realized his strongest move barely scratch the other party, Netero suicided to trigger the bomb connected to his heart. It was set to explode when his heart stops, and it almost killed Meruem. But this wasn't the only damage the bomb created, what really dangerous was the poison it was carrying. The bomb poisoned Meruem, Shaiapouf, Menthuthuyoupi, and killed them in Original Series.
This was where I came in. I decided to wait for all the Royal Guards to die. They were the pain in the ass, but just when Meruem and Komugi about to die, I would go and save them, I already planned to this point.
