Athena got out of the class and looked up. It was a long class in her least favorite subject- History. It was not like she could do anything about them!
It was the last class of the day. She wanted to head back to her room and review her notes. But she knew that she had other chores to take complete. Her roommate had headed back, weary, with her excitement of a nascent experience faded out after a long day.
Drudgingly, she headed towards the bank.
As she walked to the regal building, she thought about the hierarchy of these organizations.
The Bank, Merchant Guild, and the kingdoms formed the backbone of the human civilizations and kept each other in check. The Bank had a monopoly over the financial system and had entrenched itself into every crevice of society. They handled the in and outflow of cash for the Guild and the kingdoms.
The Merchant Guild, through its headquarters on an island below Browe in Tvser's sea, managed the trade between cities and nations. Rather than an entire organization, they consisted of individual merchants who came together to represent their united interests. They also owned the Adventurer's Guild, giving them power over information.
The kingdoms were ruled by royal families held in check by other nobles. The royals were some of the most powerful magicians across human civilization.
Athena walked into the Bank and headed to a counter. A young man professionally smiled and asked," May I help you, ma'am?" .
"Yes, I would like to open an account and deposit some money." She paused and whispered, "Privately."

The man looked up," Of course.", with a smile, he added," Please enter the red door on your right, someone will attend to you."
Athena walked into a small yet richly furnished room. She looked around and tested the barriers she felt when she entered.
"Soundproof and defendable.", she thought, just as thin women in a long shirt entered.
"May I know how much you are looking forward to depositing", the woman asked without any pleasantries.
Athena smiled," Here you go." and handed the women a bag.
The woman opened it looked inside and raised an eyebrow." Of Course Ma'am, and under what name would you like to open an account?"
"My name is Athena Aryls, and please keep this quiet."
"Of course, that is our policy. Your identity and account information will be guarded. If someone manages to find out, we will pursue with sure confidence."
"They will be arrested?" Athena inquisitively asked.
"They will be killed", the women answered without any hesitation.
Just as the woman was about to head out, Athena spoke up," Could you please direct me to one of your employees, Masaki Urumi."
The woman turned around," I am her."
"Well then Ms. Urumi, you saved me a lot of time."
"How can I help you?"
Athena twirled her fingers and smiled," My father said you would be the primary person to go to if I needed anything."
"And why would I obliged to help, ma'am?"
"Because my father is the man who saved you from the Baasch in the Lost Forest."
The women stilled, and for the first time Athena saw an expression on her face, initially shock then disbelief, and finally, she looked at Athena with fear.
