The path to the villa where the royals stay on the school grounds is long and winding. Silver is just glad that it wasn't Celestina that had called him back here. Whatever Xavier would want is a complete mystery to him. Whatever he might want, Silver knows that he would have to do it. The contract that he signed with the King says that he would have to. He stops right in front of the building and gently knocks on the door. “Prince Xavier, I am here as you have requested.”
There was nothing but silence on the other side of the door. There might be small sounds of movement but it is all uncertain on if there is even any signs of life.
Silver slowly grabs the handle to the door and opens it. “I'm coming in, Prince Xavier.”
After stepping into the building the atmosphere becomes incredibly tense. There is a huge air of death hanging around the interior. Silver summons his sword and unsheathes it, holding it close to his body as he slowly walks around staying aware of his surroundings. He approaches a door that is slightly open and has a plack that reads: Xavier Depraysie.
“Prince Xavier, are you in there?” He lightly pushes the door open with his sword in hand. Once he enters the room he sees Xavier laying almost motionless in his bed shallowly breathing.
The prince looks over in Silvers direction and makes himself sit up. Once when he does he starts violently coughing into his hands that are covered in blood. “Duke von Stein.” Xavier addresses Silver formally for the first time catching him off guard. “I have loss my only blessing, as well as it turning into a curse. Not like it matters. Xathaniel was said to eventually betray the royal family anyways.” His heterochromia eyes look right at Silver for the first time seeing him as a person. “Has he talked to you yet? He has abandoned me. My sisters were never able to talk to him like I was. I was about to ascend and now I can't.”
Silver stays quiet not really sure how to respond to him. While Xavier is talking to him, he is just standing there waiting for the order that is supposed to come that never seems to.
Xavier gets up and grabs onto Silver's suit with his blood stained hands. “Answer me damn it!” He shouts with a slight burst of energy then drops down to the ground in another coughing fit.
Don't answer him, that vermin doesn't need to know my choice. A raspy voice says in Silver's head catching him off guard but doesn't show it on his face and instead watches the Prince dying on the floor.
“It would be so much easier if he would just die.”
Not realizing that he said it out loud Xavier's head snapped up as that is the most that he is able to do. “What was that? Would you like to repeat that pet?”
Silver notices the prince's harsh gaze but recognizes that there isn't anything that he can do if he does not give any kind of response.
“You dare ignore me? I am still your prince!” He grabs onto Silver's legs and is unable to bring him down to the ground with him. Instead he forces himself up slowly. “Get down on your knees. Do not look at me as if you are better than me.”
You dare let him order you, the next king?
“No.” He says to the voice in his head but Xavier takes it as a response of defiance to him.
The prince winds back and tries to punch Silver but his fist was caught rather effortlessly. “Stay still and let me hit you!”
“You going to make that an order? I will not willingly let you hit me, no matter how weak you currently are. You know that contract is the only reason why I am here.”
Any color that happened to be in Xavier's face left because he has been ordering him this whole time. Did Xathaniel nullify the contract. Did that witch nullify it? No, if it was that witch then the Duke would have known. Maybe, once he lost his blessing and it became a cures it made it so he can no longer have a contract under the observations of Xathanael.
I broke the contract that you had off with him specifically. Suriel made sure that this illness won't kill him because mother's chosen one requested it. Why don't you finish him? I give you full permission to act in the stead of a god. His voice sounded cruel as he talks about the family that he had chosen about 1000 years ago.
“You have no more pull over me do you, Xavier?” Silver pushed him down and readied his sword. “The fact that you were cursed by Zarall and I was blessed by him meant that you were always going to lose. May Suriel make it you you will never find piece.”
“Please don't. I'm sorry. I... I don't want to die... Please forgive me.” Those were the last words said by Xavier Depraysie as Silver's sword goes through his chest and he watches as the light leaves his eyes.
“May the Depraysie Royal Family all fall by my hands.” Taking his sword out of the dead prince's body, he dismisses his sword and it vanishes.
Walking out of the room after washing up in Xaviers bathroom Silver stops at a door that is shut tightly. It has Celestina's name on the plack but it looks as if the area hasn't been touched in years. Thinking that she could have been here at the same time he was going to attend makes him shiver.
Once he makes it over to the sacred tree he sees that Pearl had fallen asleep under it. He must have made them wait too long. He sits down next to them and just watches the colorful specks of light fall from the tree showing that the gods are always watching them.
Silver reaches for Pearl and strokes their cheek as they start to stir awake. Turning to their side they open their eyes and see Silver sitting next to them. “Oh, your back. I felt drained after my work so I decided to take a nap. I'm glad that you were the first thing that I saw when I woke up.”
“It is time to do it, Pearl. I want to end them. I am ready to do it and if they try and hurt you for what I just did, I might not be able to protect you.”
Pearl just stares at him unsure what Silver is asking them to do. “What did you do?” They think that they already know they just want to make sure that they are right. They want to know because what they are thinking should be impossible.
"Xathanael ganted me permission to end the prince as he has abandoned the Depraysie family. Please, allow me to continue to take them down."
Pearl smiles but is slightly concerned. If they do this and Silver fails it could mean that they could die too. He hasn't made it an order so they have an option to say no but they want him to be free from the royal family's control. "As Maraiel watches over us, may she break the contract that binds you to the Depraysie Royal family."
A chain glows around him and it shatters and tears start to fall down his face. He pulls Pearl in and holds them to him tightly. "Am I really free? Am I allowed to not listen to them anymore? Freeing me from their grasp is why I formed the contract with you. Just being able to say that is proof that I am. It just doesn't seem real. I'll be able to protect you without any worries that the contract that I had with the Depraysies getting in my way."
Pearl stays still as Silver holds onto them letting all his repressed emotions out. It must have been a long time since he had been able to show any kind of emotion like this. It doesn't bother Pearl that he is being this emotional, infact, they are relieved that he is able to express himself like this. They wrap their arms around him and close their eyes. "I'm happy that I was able to help."
