Story of Airelina Frembell II
Airelina Frembell
Did you know the fairy tale about an angel and a demon that was madly fallen in love? Here’s the spoiler; the two happily lived ever after on earth, with two human kids. It was just a bed time story our kindergarten teacher used to teach us. But now this is the explanation of the man who promised to be my husband.
“Love destroys the barrier of good and evil. Love breaks all boundaries.” Zac said to me on the ruined church in the Goldcliffe City Slums. “Even if you killed a lot of humans like me, I will continue to love you…Aleria Turner…”
I was hesitant on taking her hand at that time. I really wanted to marry my first love; my first hero. But as time goes on, I realized that the two of us crossing fates again will never come.
“If what you want is justice for the death of your parents, then I’ll help you. I’ll overthrow the human empire and give you the crown if you wish.” Zac added.
Then he introduced me to Estoff Wraith, the man with a tragic past just like me. I learned that we three have the very same cause; to help the oppressed, to free all the dragonoids from harm, and to destroy the human empire that is abusing their power over all.
It was hard to get manpower or help from other dragonoids, because most of them are scared. If all dragonoids will be like this forever, then change will never come. We have to act. The three of us devised a plan to trigger the dragonoids’ anger towards humans. As Estoff once said, “There will be no revolution without bloodshed.”
The plan is the mass extermination of humans and dragonoids alike, in the Vanilla City. Everything fits on our plan. Zac and I already unlocked our Dracaryx when we first met, and I still don’t know how we did it. All that matters is that I can become the Crimson Dragonfly.
Zac forcefully grabbed one of my friend and coworker whose name is forgotten through time. All I remember about her is that she is a Titanus Dragon, a type of scale less lizard that can reach up to forty meters. As we activated Dracaryx, four fire-like wings came out from my back and absorbed the Titanus Dragonoid. My body transformed into a fifty-meter abomination with the steel electronic armors of the advanced engineering of the future.
I am the Monolith Dragon. The Crimson Dragonfly.
I charged a particle beam on my mouth and sprayed it on the main city, on the square, on the malls, and on the houses of the innocent. Everything vanishes as all things that was touched by my particle beam separates each and every atom, one by one. Everything was converted into thin air on my wake.
Casualty is about one thousand and two hundred. Only about fifty people survived. Vanilla City is written out of the map in just a matter of five minutes.

Because Zac Schneider didn’t have any training on becoming a dragon knight, all the negative effects of the Vesryn Pulse and my Dracaryx backfired to him. Every cell on his body succumbs with pain, and he got a severe heart attack. We tried to run, but because of Zac’s condition, he got caught by the authorities, mainly led by Kyle Leviticus. Luckily, Estoff and I managed to escape.
Zac Schneider was put into the detention center for a couple of weeks before coming to an unfair trial. Estoff, as an Imperial knight at that time, visited him every day to keep him on check as we formulate an escape plan for him. But then Zac said:
“I wanted to have all the blame on me. Allow them to prove me guilty. Then they will never doubt you or Aleria ever again.”
Estoff wanted to protest but Zac continued. “My promise for a free world for Aleria to live in will be granted. And this is my only way to help. I’m neither knight nor a politician. Being the decoy will be my best role in our group.” Zac pressed his hand on the mirror. “I want you to have my name as the destroyer of the Vanilla City. Make each and every dragonoid blame me! Make them believe that all humans are the enemy of dragonoids! Make them…The Arcadia!”
When the trial finally came, Zac Schneider’s name was forever stained by the sins that I’ve done. No lawyer accepted his case and was proven guilty in just a matter of seconds. His punishment was public execution.
Beheaded. The very same fate my parents have. I attended his execution on the plaza slums and his words echoed over and over again inside of my head. “Be free…. Airelina Frembell.” Then his head fell on the floor as blood splattered all over the area.
I was astounded. It really seemed that Zac knew my real name from the start, and played fools with me for the rest of his life. He sacrificed everything he has for me. And now we are here, spreading the fake news that Zac was ordered by the empire to massacre thousands of dragonoids in the Vanilla City.
His name was forever disgraced in both human and dragonoid’s history. The Crimson Dragonfly Incident was the worst even in history that both races wanted to erase in all records.
And that is totally my fault.
Guilt has forever engraved in our hearts and minds. Estoff and I. We were the true culprit of this chaos. We sacrificed a friend…and a loved one just to brainwash a lot of dragonoids in a whim to overthrow the human empire.
That was the last time we killed anyone. Estoff and I promised to not involve any civilian in our operations again.
I was elected as the leader of Arcadia just because most of the dragonoids didn’t have trust on Estoff in the start. Estoff didn’t really want to become a leader back then, but he proved his goodwill for all dragonoids. He provided information, weapons, and funds to our group. He became the leader of various critical missions such as freeing the dragonoids from the power plants and slaughter houses. He made enough trust points that made me pass the baton of leadership to him.
We had a lot of mini-secret bases on three cities, including the inn in the Goldcliffe City Slums. Through these bases we scattered our propaganda and our intelligence networks became vast. Various dukes and duchesses supported our cause, including Duchess Carousel and Duke Dragunov. From the small group of three, then to two, then to a thousand and finally two hundred thousand members. We have members on every city of the empire.
Arcadia is the worst threat of the Empire of Alterra. We may be weak as livestock, but we have the power to make a scar in the government. The only problem is the empire’s dragon knights. They are using our own kind to exterminate us; those dragonoids who refuse the idea of freedom and would rather stay oppressed by their masters.
Dragon knights are extremely powerful in an ordinary Arcadian soldier’s eyes. No one has ever had an idea how to defeat them, until a miracle happened.
A young man who happened to be forever lost in my eyes made an appearance.
