I didn’t feel anything. Couldn’t smell anything.
The warm, gentle breeze eluded me, despite being around me. The smell of the endless, golden fields of wheat felt like nothing but a memory, despite sitting in it. The clear blue sky above was almost like the ocean, but it looked grey to me.
“Where am I?”, I asked the wind.
“In Between”, it sang back.
“Who are you?”
“I am Death and I am Life. I am the Fire and I am the Seed. Whenever I Take, I also Give”

“What did you take from me?”
“Everything”
“Then what can you give?”
“A new chance, in a new World”
“Oh…”
“You seem disappointed?” the voice said.
Despite the origin of the voice appearing just next to me, I didn’t flinch, or jump or scream. It was just there.
I turned my head to look at him. Big, black wheels with never before seen traction. A large and spacious cabin perfect for long drives. Large exhausts leading to a chassy hiding a behemoth of an engine capable of producing over 500 horsepower! Truly a divine sight.
“What do I call you?” I asked.
“Mortals refer to me as Truck-kun. You may call me friend”
I smiled. For a brief moment, I felt the wind, smelled the wheat and saw the blue of the sky. I leaned against the thick, black rubber of his tyres. Despite carrying multiple tons of weight, they were somehow firm yet soft.
I closed my eyes. Somehow, I felt that everything would work out just fine.
