The sun is out when I got home. I prepared myself some hard bread for my dinner. This food tastes hard and plain but it is cheap so who am I to judge? 'amm ar amr', "Thanks Hafsaed for giving me this food", I pray while eating. It struck me while eating that it has been a long time since most of the villagers left for the war and it was so har- oh my food is gone. "I should start to clean this up and go to bed, it will be an early day tomorrow just like always." I went to bed and let my mind wander to who knows where.
It was still dark when I woke up but my body knows it was just the right time, well my body was forcefully beaten up by Erfit because when the villagers left, the farm needs more hands and it was like that ever since. I stood up from my bed and grab my hoe, it should be there but it looks like that I have forgotten to get my hoe at the farm. Anyway, I quickly took some clothes and went out to take a bath.
The bath is refreshing and cold, while I was bathing, I saw someone coming to my way, "Hey Keija are you going to help today?"
Keija: "Yup, the chief said that I can help today!"
He said that with a big smile, "Just don't overwork yourself, Keija" I said to the 10-years-old child.
"Just ask me or Senior Erfit if you need some help or if you have some question"
Keija: "I'll douuu that Brother Aoal"
Then he went to bath "I'll go first Keija", I said while standing up.
Keija: "Okayyyy Brother Aoal!"
After I change I went out to go to the farm but I remembered that Esku might be late again, I went to his house to wake him up.
'Tok, tokk, tokk', I knock on his door "Esku! Wake up, it is time to work, ESKUU!" I keep on shouting his name but he is not waking up.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
????: "Aoal, you should go ahead you can't wake that up, HA HA HA HA he was punished by the guards yesterday and it was late when he went home."
"Ahhhh, so maybe I shall go now. Thanks for informing me, Bondi" I went to the farm and look for my hoe and there it is. "I might as well start tilling" 'tak takk tak'. An hour later when everyone arrived and I was nearly done tilling the field. Keija began planting the field but it will take a long time for him to finish this alone so I started helping him when I was done. I started at the end of the field so that I will not interfere with his work.
The sun was already up in the sky when we took a break.
Erfit: "That kid never listen." he pointed somewhere "look at him he was always getting rebuke by Verja."
I look to where he was pointing and there he is, Esku with Verja, " Look like he is late again." *sighs*
Erfit: "Anyway, thank you for helping Aoal just like always. When these wheats yield, you should buy something for yourself."
"I don't know senior, I want to save this little thing I have."
Erfit: "You should enjoy yourself more, Aoal."
He said that while walking away, "Enough resting" I also got out from the resting area and resume what I was doing earlier.
It was late when we've done working, "I might as well go home", So I grabbed my hoe and started walking home. While walking out I heard someone calling me.
Erfit: "Hey Aoal, you can have a rest day tomorrow. You've been working yourself to the bone this past few weeks."
"I can't do that senior." I replied.
Erfit: "And you can't say no."
He past at me while waving his hand to me and I heard another voice.
Esku: "Heyyyy Aoall, LET'S WALK TOGETHERR"
He said that while running towards me.
"So how are you faring the words of Verja?" I asked Esku the moment he reached me.
Esku: *sighs*, "She said that if I continue coming late she will train me to become a guard and learn discipline." he explained.
"That is good news. So why do you sounds sad?" I said while looking at him teasingly
Esku: "It is not good but at least I can see her mountains bouncing closely."
He said that tired yet still playful. So, I jagged him with my elbow and ask, "Do you want to swim again
Esku: "I might as well turn that down, Oh we are already at my house, see you tomorrow Aoal."
"See you Esku." I wave him goodbye then went to my house. I prepared my old friend, hard bread and I eat, "Thanks Hafsaed for this meal." I pray. After eating, I clean it up and then went to bed.
