The wanderer still had plenty of Loot, even after his recent arms deal. He decided on his next move. Yuan had provided a contact: an accountant who'd helped her in the past, a accountant known as Dark Moon. The wanderer was all in on the next conflict, so he decided to risk it all and meet her.
“dont kill yourself. here happy pills.. and someday you will be in top of dogs! keep grinding”
that is the avarage pep talk/drug ads billboard about. the atmosphere of city is Energic but always tense. Acid rain from sky its just make worse, people wearing fancy drip and cars but with hollow eyes.
for passing time. he visit the fightclub arena. its was betting place. the augmented fighter. often in skimpy outfit beating each other. in colorful background and advanced light. fight often get bloody. but all fighter all in. since their medical treatment is covered. sin city atmosphere start corrupting him. or just envoke his primal past.
until He arrived at a side road. A dark-skinned woman in a red blazer leaned against a white limousine.
"Hey… are you the hot accountant?"
Dark moon chuckled, amused. "Yeah, that's me. Did you come here for business, pleasure, or both?"
"Both."
She raised an eyebrow. "Straight to the point, I like it. Got any cash on you?"
"Yeah. What business can I get with 200 million?"
She looked surprised. "200 million, huh? That's a lot of cred… You wanna spend all of that here?"
"It depends. What business can I acquire?"
She stood up and moved towards the limousine, gesturing for him to follow. Inside, there was a small desk and bar. She leaned against the desk. "You could have a 'private' time with one of my dolls or… buy me. You have the right amount for that."
"What? You think I wanna buy a sex doll with 200 million? Hell no… I'm talking about the real deal… like a restaurant. Or a garage or something."
She tilted her head. "You want to buy a restaurant? A garage? You want to invest in property here?"
"Yep."
She pursed her lips, still surprised but now interested. "If you have that much money, why not? Just a warning though, I won't be able to hand you the keys right away."
"What do you mean, woman? Don't use cryptic ways."
She sighed. "The amount of money you're willing to spend is high enough to attract too much attention. There will be questions about where you got it and how you're going to spend so much. You'll need to get your story straight if you're serious about it."
"Oh, I get it… Don't worry. I will use some nomad IDs… to split the fuzz."
She crossed her arms, listening. "Split the fuzz… so some of it will be reported as a 'loan' from a nomad clan? That'll work. Still… where will you report the rest to come from?"
"Geez… you are the accountant… you know how to handle the rest… Don't worry. You will get a split if it's successful."
She leaned back. "Damn, that's a big risk you're taking. You must really want to spend 200 million here."
"Hmm… alright. Let's take it slow then… I will buy one property at a time this year, so it will look like natural growth."
She nodded, "That'll work too. Just so you know, if it's too fast you'll risk having the Free World and Series 9 on your ass."
"Yep… so I assume you are an independent broker?"
She smiled. "I am. I can help and arrange things with no corpo or factional interference, just pure business."
"I see… how many garages in the… whole city can I buy?"
She pondered.then showing a hologramic diorama of sin city. then showing a point of interest in red dots "There are 508 garages currently for sale in the city, though some are more 'secure' and high-value than others. It depends on your budget for each one."
"I wanna control a whole street… so I will prioritize buying like whole major garages in the city."
She nodded,. "If we're going for volume like that, we'll need someone to distribute it properly. It'll attract too much attention if just one person controls that many assets at once. Any Arbiter would be interested in them if they found out they're all going to the same person, let alone the big corps."
"Yes, I know some Swat… I can borrow their name or something."
She smiled, "I see, you're thinking ahead. Swat … are a good choice. The corpos are too smart to mess with them in the city. You got everything figured out."
"Good… so are we safe now?"
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
She thought for a moment. "The corpos won't be an issue… other gangs might be an issue for this much property. Jackals, Skulls, and especially the Serpents won't like it."
"Hehe. Are those some random crackhead gangs?"
She tilted her head. "Oh, you're feisty, aren't you? Yeah, you'd think that, but they'll most likely try to shake you down and threaten you, probably even assault you and steal your property for a profit if you're not careful."
"Alright. I will just use my stupid dweeb face when around them."
She chuckled. "That might work, just don't let them get the idea that you're some kinda 'soft' rich guy or they'll eat you alive."
"Yep."
She crossed her arms, her face serious. "Don't underestimate them, they're not as dumb as they look. You need to have your guard up every time, especially when you're on their 'turf'."
"Alright. Stop giving me like a tutor… you wanna a drink or something?"
She laughed a little. "A drink? Sure, I'm down. It's late and I was planning to get drunk anyway."
"Don't drunk. A coffee."
She raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Coffee, really? You're pretty boring, you know that?"
"But I'm sane and cute."
She laughed. "Cute? Don't flatter yourself too much, you'll get a big head."
"My head is big."
She rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "Yeah, yeah, big head, whatever. So you're really going to make me have coffee with you? No alcohol?"
"Yes… if you good girl. I will cuddle you."
She looked surprised, blushing a little. "Wait, wait, slow down, mister. First you want to talk business, then you wanna cuddle me now?"
"What? I'm too much to handle? Big ass?"
She was still blushing but now getting a little annoyed. "No, no! It's n-not that… just that you're coming on way too strong and it's kinda… throwing me off."
"Hmhm. So you wanna meek man sub, huh?"
She blushed, flustered. "What!? N-no I don't!! I… I just want something more subtle, not so… brash!"
"…Ehhhh… nyoohhh!"
She looked confused. "'Nyoohhh'? What the hell does that even mean!?"
"Nevermind. You coming or not?"
She thought for a moment, then sighed and nodded. "Fine… I'll go with you to get a coffee."
"Good."
"So… lead the way then. Show me where this coffee is."
"Alright. Let this great man take you out."
She rolled her eyes but smiled, going along with it. "'Great man,' yeah, yeah, sure… just take me already."
Later, the wanderer picked a place, and the self-driving limousine arrived at a simple café, quite different from the bling-bling parts of Sin City. She looked at the café. "Hm… never been to a place like this before. Pretty small, almost like a… bakery or something."
"Yes… at least no half-nude women around, which is good."
She chuckled. "Right… that'll make the coffee 'better' too, I suppose."
later at the simple wooden room inside the cafe,
She took a sip, her eyes lighting up slightly. "Hey, this is actually pretty good. Not so shitty after all."
"Yes. I know I'm great."
She took another sip. "Damn, your ego's a bit big, huh?"
The wanderer lowered his glass and looked at her, his eyes locking with hers. "Yes… so… you know my strategies?"
She nodded. "Buy garages in bulk. Get a hold of some Swat members to avoid the corpos and be careful around the gangs. Not a bad plan so far."
"Yes. But the big deal is… I will make sure the corpo grasp is reduced."
She looked interested. "And how are you gonna do that? That'd be quite a big deal for Sin City if you pull it off."
"Yep… I know some gangs. Despite they hate corpo… they rely on them."
She leaned back a bit. "Oh, like what? Jackals? Skulls? Serpents?"
"Oh… so they are, huh? Yes… probably those…"
She nodded. "It's nothing too special, to be honest. The Jackals are dealing drugs, and the Skulls are into human trafficking. Serpents are an obvious one, they're basically a 'gang' of ex-military looking for a fight."
"So… Serpents are kinda… a group of mercs?"
She nodded. "Pretty much, yeah. They do merc work but also try to act like official military. They'll do about any dirty job with the promise of profit."
"Do they are dog of Mammoth?"
She pondered. "Not exactly. I'd more say they're like… a fan club. They idolize Mammoth, they want to be like them. It's pathetic, really."
"Good… it's valuable ally then… their desire is their weakness."
She raised an eyebrow. "You're planning to use them, huh? You really got this whole 'business' thing figured out, don't you?"
"Hehe… this will be a war."
She looked a little surprised. "You don't mean war-war, right? Just a war for business, right?"
"Both."
She looked shocked and slightly intimidated, but also a little interested. "You're looking to cause quite a big ripple in the city, huh?"
"Hehe… I think it's just the time. Isn't it? Sooner or later it's gonna happen… even a bum can feel it."
She sighed and leaned on her chair. "You're not wrong about that, the city is kinda unstable right now. But what you're planning is huge. You really think you can do it?"
"Yeah… sure… control the street first… and then… boom boom."
She took another sip of her coffee. "You make it sound so simple. Control the streets, get in a war, beat the corpos and… boom boom, easy peasy, right?"
Wanderer shake his head then chuckles "No, it's not easy… a lot of people will die, hehe."
She gave him a slightly concerned look. "You're okay with that? Knowing you're gonna cause a bloodbath and a lot of people will die?"
"It's not because of me… it's because of the fault of all the people… they know the system is suck… but they do nothing about it… until they got to this point."
She looked at him intently, almost admiring his cold-mindedness. "You're not wrong… the city is hell, and the people barely do anything. They're just too scared, but still… you really have no remorse about people dying?"
"Nope."
She looked at him, surprised and slightly intimidated. "Y-you… you do realize innocent people will probably die too… right?"
The wanderer took a sip calmly.
She sighed. "That's it? 'Sip sip?' You're just not bothered by innocents dying, that blood isn't gonna stain your conscience?"
"Well. I will make sure the casualties are lower."
She couldn't tell if Wanderer was arrogant or overconfident. "Yeah, right. You think it's gonna be easy like some game? You think you can have a war in a city like this and have 'lower casualties?' You'll have too many losses to count, whether it's your people, innocents, or even yourself."
"Good…"
Dark moon facepalmed and looked at him in disbelief. "Good?… You're insane, you know that, right?"
"Thanks…" The wanderer took another sip.
She sighed, shaking her head and massaging her temples. "You're welcome… and completely nuts at the same time."
"Yes… just do your good job, okay? And be my good girl."
She huffed, rolling her eyes. "I wasn't gonna say no to such a big job. You don't gotta 'good girl' me too, just give me the info I need and your eddies. I'll make sure to do my job perfectly." She finished her coffee. "Speaking of which, got anything else to share tonight, or can I go home and get some rest?"
"Alright… go rest now. I bet your head is spinning."
She slowly stood up and got a little dizzy, holding onto the table for a second. Regaining her balance, she nodded. "Yeah, I think it's time to go home before I fall flat on my ass."
"Hehe. Good night."
She rolled her eyes, unsure if she should be annoyed by his amusement at her slight dizziness or just let it slide. "Night." She headed for the sliding paper door. "Remember to keep in contact."
