I have returned

Brothers, sisters, I think I'm going to end my hiatus. I'm going to continue my other works, but I think this, my first fic, deserves attention. Besides, its  companion Story, Game of the Mad God, is almost caught up in chapters as well. Please enjoy this sneak peek into the future of this story.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY TIMESKIP I CANNOT REITERATE THAT ENOUGH.

Creon approached the mountain with anticipation. It had been 6 months since the last meeting, and things had gone rather well since. The fighting was brought under control, and borders had been established. You could now walk around without fear of being robbed and killed, in complete contrast to the first 6 months before the first meeting.

Yes, those days were a true hell. Rioting, rape, pillaging, murder. it marked the beginning of their imprisonment. And now it had been a year. A year since the since they were trapped in the game called New Paths by the creature calling itself a god: Vira Zin.

The mountain was covered with players.  All of the were notable and powerful in some way,  but as Creon approached the base of the mountain to begin his ascent, they all parted for him. This wasn't because they recognized him, no he was wearing a cloak which masked ones identity. It was due to his fighting spirit stat, or more accurately, his derivation of it: Will.

At this point in the game,  while levels were still a good way of accessing strength, Fighting spirit was the method of choice.  levels could be gained in a variety of ways, but fighting spirit could only be gained via combat or difficult training, and where as levels could be hidden, fighting spirit of a high level could be felt. A person with high fighting spirit was undoubtedly strong, and Creon had one of the highest levels in the game.

As he continued his ascent, the players got stronger and stronger. Creon began seeing people he knew. Salaazar, the man who discovered the necromancer class and  gained the unique class, Necrolord. Lucian Graveheart, the first player to become a werewolf. Bastard, one of the players who had taken Creon's blessing back in the beginning of the game, and the only one to have advanced the class Sword Saint to its final form: Blademancer. All these  names were impressive, but they took 2nd place compared to where Creon was going.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Finally, Creon reached the peak of the mountain.  There was a singular round table with ten seats, only one of them not filled. All nine of the people, along with their attendants turned to look as he approached. The man commonly known as Maou spoke. "Took your slow ass long enough."

Creon just chuckled. Sometimes he actually preferred the demon king's rudeness to the stuffiness of the rest of the members of the tale he was taking a seat at.  Gabriel to his left stood up and declared: "With this, the second Kings' Summit will begin."

Creon took a moment to look around the table as he took of his cloak. He could never get used to it, no matter how many times he saw it. the biggest names in the world were all at this table, even though half of them wanted to kill the other half for some reason or another.

Creon shook his head with a small smile. It felt as though it were an eternity ago, but he still remembered the times when it was just a game. Before all the titles, back when they had only one name. When if they killed each other, they wouldn't actually die. His recollections were short lived however as the sounds of bickering tore him away from his daydream. He sighed. They would have to get their act together and make a choice. They only had another six months left until the dimensional rift was opened. Would they play along with Vira Zin, or would they do the unthinkable: Slay the Mad God?
