“Kran-dono! Army trucks, gladiator model, mid-size, sky-pick-up, hydraulic propulsion from hydrous iron oxide and hydroxide engines... Ingenious! 500km per hour! Very fast! Rode it at sound of light.... very fast... many... MANY!” The woman’s voice trembled as she frantically blurted her words. She paused to heave in some oxygen, then began to pace the room with her rambles.
Veronika observed the woman who was slender and small in a smartly fitted white, brown and red bodysuit. The Starcharter logo was printed on her shoulders, chest and the back of her white leather gloves that covered her long fingers and small hands.
But she had glorious fine and long golden colored hair, which was held up in twin ponytails: some of her front strands delicately tumbled about her pixie-like face of soft round amber eyes touched with a faint hint of light pink eye-shadow, and long curved and dark eyelashes to draw out more of her innocence from them. There was a sense of delicacy from her flawless and youthful complexion, with fair and smooth cheeks touched with light rouge. Lush, heart-shaped lips trembled as she continued to chant her scientific observations of the danger she had been running from. Her pointed, fair-white ears were twitching intermittently with the same nervousness as her frantic ramble.
She was clearly afraid. Veronika felt compelled to help her.
“Calm down. What happened?” she gently asked, but as soon as the woman saw her, she stopped her pacing and pointed a finger at Veronika with fear.
“You! I saw many of you!” She cried out and cowered into Creed’s arms, who had also entered the room behind her.
“Me?” Veronika looked over her harden khaki tunic and, specifically, the white eagle motif sewn on the right-side of her chest area.
“I knew it. Father, we should go there now and kill these scum!” Creed vehemently suggested. “Starting with this one!”
Veronika took a few deep breaths to ensure her energies and aura was peaceful before the woman who had her head buried in Creed’s chest. “Please, can you tell me what happened. Maybe I can help.”
She waited patiently until the woman had calmed down and was ready to tell them.
In the meantime, Kran introduced her. She was a young Cretarian named Simone Ashtra: at the age of 18 human years, she was still considered a child. Despite her youth, she had a brilliant mind and worked at the Bing Bing Mine as an intern to assist her mother.
Simone explained the situation a lot more coherently. She had been doing her usual work of cataloging Bing Verslas samples at the mine’s laboratory when a commotion was heard outside. It was coming from near the main mine entrance. She had stepped outside to see what had been going on, and saw a number of black-steel trucks entering the compound. Many Concordat Force soldiers, concealed in black helmets and titanium bodysuit armor with the eagle motifs on their pauldrons, filed out to start shooting everyone on sight with plasma guns.

“Many lights, making many people… dead. We’re just workers. What did we do wrong?” She stared at her trembling hands. “So much blood, wasted protein, glucose, albumin, carbon oxide…”
[The armor suggests these soldiers are special forces. But to senselessly slaughter civilians is strange... not right. Concordat Special Forces are designed to infiltrate and complete their mission with minimal to zero civilian casualties. We have to investigate this] System commented.
“I’m with you there.” Veronika carefully approached Simone.
“How did you get away?”
Simone’s lips trembled when she said that she raced through a set of excavated mine tunnels to exit near the town’s side gate.
“Mother was behind me. Then I heard gun fire and bangs.” She covered her head with her hands.
“It’s okay. I’ll go and see what these soldiers are up to and find survivors to bring back here.” Veronika calmly said, hoping to soothe her fear.
“Please. You’re Concordat. If you can tell them to stop… tell them…” Simone began sobbing.
“Wait. You’re not going anywhere!” Creed growled and aimed his sub-machine gun at Veronika.
Kran stepped in-between to try and calm his son down. “The Concordat clone seems keen to help. We’ll let her. If she double-crosses us, you can shoot her.”
“She could be the reason those bastards attacked our mine!” Creed bellowed with rage and cocked his gun with readiness to fire.
“Creed.” As Kran was calmly said his son’s name, his forehead eye glowed with a mellow purple light. Spirit energy was cast from his eye, which caused Creed’s aura energy to glow from a muddy red color to a gentle blue.
Creed calmly sheathed his gun and stood more at ease. Kran performed the same ability on Simone to ease her nervous tension.
“Thank you.” She bowed before Kran and wiped away her tears.
[The lakionian’s central eye can cast a spirit energy output to affect brain chemistry and directly alter frequency levels of a person’s aura to control them. Not quite mind control, but close to a form of hypnosis. However, the target is still aware of their own mind and body functions. Most lakionians use their abilities as a form of peacekeeping. They call this skill Leveling Eye] System commented.
Creed stepped back as his father took over the conversations.
“If you are genuinely wanting to help, clone, I will let you. Go with Creed and his squad. They will shoot you if you betray your words,” Kran said to Veronika.
“I am obligated to help too.” Scot volunteered.
“You have my thanks.” Kran nodded to him.
“I will come. You need to be able to reach the compound with minimal detection. I can show you the way,” Simone soberly said, when she felt her mind was clear.
“No way! Simone, you’ve suffered enough. Stay here with father,” Creed said, as he fussed over her, but Simone pushed his hands away.
“No, Creed. I have to come! They took mother. I’m sure of it.” She persisted with her plea.
Veronika nodded and coolly said, “Then stay close and keep us in your sights at all times. We’ll protect you.”
“Move out,” she said to Scot, and followed Creed and Simone out of the room.
