Chapter 2 - A Prologue...?

[Your status has been updated. Welcome back, Fang.]

Familiar.

That was his first thought. The [First], the [Highest Ranking Player], the very moment he stepped into the game, that was his first thought. Fang felt a soothing warmth bubble up from within him as his visual interface burst into light and colour, peeling apart the darkness which surrounded him. He was floating, in the midst of nothing.

Magnificent.

That was his second thought. Fang blinked and rubbed his eyes, in utter disbelief of what he was seeing. What greeted him was not the average castle, nor the average marketplace. What was before his eyes was --- Creation.

There was no other words for it, but creation.

The world was nothing but a small lump of rock, tumbling in space, empty and lifeless. But before Fang's eyes, god's miracle was happening. Dwarfing the universe itself, a great figure, wreathed in glowing blue light, and filled with a multitude of stars, held the small pebble in one hand. There was no seeing his face, as all Fang could see was starburst after starburst, as if there was a furnace, sparking bright within cranium of the great entity.

The other arm raised itself high above the planet, it’s soft blue glow intensifying momentarily. Fang gaped as raw azure energy coursed like the surface of a river through the translucent arm, collimating in a pillar of fire, bright as the sun itself, except that the sun didn’t exist yet.

A hammer of scintillating light formed in the upraised hand, intricately carved and designed, and crashed down onto the small misshapen rock. And where the hammer had struck, the rock expanded and grew to the size of a planet, filling space until the great entity could barely be seen behind it.

Curious, Fang floated to the side, watching the entity at work. Silently, dramatically, the blue being raised his hammer arm again, bringing the hammer of golden light up, and struck down onto the rough orb. A thundercrack roared, and shards of stone flew by Fang.

Cracks extended from the epicenter of the collision, glowing with supernatural blue light. And from the hammerhead, bloomed plants, water, mountains, and life, all formed from blue magics. Fang's jaws dropped. What the hell was this? What kind of magic was it?

He floated closer towards the blooming planet, and, hesitantly, touched the hammer, placing his arm on it’s smooth, cool surface. The energy below his fingers was thick, and spiralled around his fingers, reacting to his touch with a warm and friendly hum.ith a warm and friendly hum, as if meeting a new friend.

A wild flutter of excitement and wonder jolted to life inside Fang, as the energy lapped at his fingers, like a pet dog would. It was welcoming, happy, filled with joy, and it made Fang feel the same way.

His head in the clouds, Fang pushed his hand deeper into the hammer - until he hit a wall of stern, unyielding coldness. Lightning jolted his fingers, and he brushed against a mind. Except it was not a mind. Beyond the tips of his finger, he could feel a force so powerful it could rip him apart, yet so gentle, that all he felt was a cool breeze. It danced in between his fingers, sentient, and in his head, Fang could hear whispers of a voice, airy, yet heavy, like a woman’s, yet manly.

A soft, and strangely slurred voice.

"Hmm?"

The universe shook with a voice both coquettish and stern.

Yet Fang did not respond to the god before him. He was shocked, in awe of the vast being before him. He caught flits of memories in his fingers, and he understood vaguely what the god was doing. He understood, but he did not.

It was creating. For the last time, it was.
