Arc 1 Phase 1 - The Quickening
Chapter 1 - A Prologue
The Valiere Krune. A hotel built and maintained to facilitate meetings between world leaders, bolted down like a fortress, yet more padded than a 5 star hotel. But within the leaden atmosphere of the hotel, musty and aged, was the bright humming of a young girl, light, as if floating over the depressed air of the place.
The doors opened, and closed, depositing a young man onto red carpet. Behind him, doors made of foot-thick steel grinded shut, locking with the sound of a thick bolt sliding into place.
Two bright brown eyes glowed, as they landed on their prey.
“Fang!”
The person in question, Fang, was chewing on a particularly hard piece of gum, when two constrictor-like arms wrapped around his neck.”Kah, gah!” The unfortunate piece then fell down his throat, tumbling down into his stomach.
“I… let go…”
Fang grabbed at the arm around his neck, pulling hard, for his life.
The beautiful girl with her arms around his neck was the most powerful person in existence, Jane Miralight, but there was no distance between him and her. There was no difference between the powerless him and the powerful her. There were many, many boundaries between them, but they had torn through everything, and finally, they were here.
Light laughter tickled his ears, as did warm breath. Fang turned, swinging her around.
“Get off me, dammit!”
Fang reached behind him, lifting the incredibly light her over his head, and cradled her in his arms.

“Your room is ready.”
A meticulously dressed hotelier entered the small private foyer, his sleek white hair pinned in a small bundle to the back of his head. He extended a keycard, and pushed it towards Jane, studiously ignoring Fang. But Jane’s hands were wrapped around Fang’s neck.
Fang smiled awkwardly, and plucked the keys from the hotelier’s hands, who then clicked his tongue as he left the room.
“Shit…” Fang, with Jane still in his arms, walked into the spacious lift, and tapped the key onto the featureless sensor. Her head resting on his chest, Jane looked up at his face, and moved in for a kiss - until the doors closed.
She stopped, and frowned.
“I still can’t take how they don’t acknowledge you.”
“Well.”
Fang sighed, smiling.
“At least you do.”
He brought his head down for a kiss-
“Ding!”
The lift opened out into a hotel room, complete with a bed, a bathroom, and a bar.
Both their eyes landed on the bed, before turning away at exactly the same time.
“No.”
“No.”
Fang looked down at Jamira, who was blushing, and smiled.
“Remember why we’re here.”
“How can I forget?”
Fang shifted his gaze to the two capsules, flush with the wall.
“Usurpers Online reboots today, no?”
Fang eyed the caspule on the right.
“We’re meeting at the spawn, right?”
“Yup.”
