"Alert Alert All Secondary Systems Offline, Oxygen Low, Fire present in the Lifepod"
Mike woke up with a splitting headache and the first thing he heard was this. At first, he thought he was hallucinating but the thing he felt next extinguished any such thoughts in his head, he felt searing heat, as if his entire body was being cooked in a toaster.
He tried to get up be he saw that he was inside a roller coaster-like chair that refused to budge, the room he was in looked like it was straight out of a sci-fi movie it was wholly made out of metal and on the wall there was a red-colored hologram being projected it listed all kind of errors, but what really got his attention was the fire raging on to his left. He had no time to think and lept into action, first, he had to get out of these restraints when he looked downwards the first thing he saw was a screen attached to the seat he was in with the words "DISENGAGE" on it and a fire extinguisher on the floor after he clicked the icon on the screen the entire seat shifted around him and he could finally get out.
He lept out from the seat got the fire extinguisher, which was surprisingly easy to use, and quickly put out the fire.
"Fire Extinguished, Oxygen Filtration Online, repairs on Primary Scanning and Communication Systems required"
Immediately after those words sounded out he got hit by a sever headache and passed out.
When he came to, there was a lot of information about a whole another life in his head, it was about the life of the Chief secondary systems maintenance officer of the Aurora spacecraft, which apparently crash-landed on this planet. The name of the previous occupant of this body was Ryley Robinson. He was born on one of the non-capital star systems of the Alterra Trans-Stellar Government which was also somehow a corporation. He lived a pretty extraordinary life, his parents were high ranking Alterra officials and he got the best education money could buy, and he used it to his full advantage, he was 20 years old by the time he finished his engineering PhD and his parents immediately got him a job on the newest and most profitable venture in Alterra, the expansion of the already massive Alterra Inter-Stellar territory, by establishing a new phase gate in an uninhabited solar system.

But his already promising life was cut short when, while passing over an uninhabited ocean planet, their journey was interrupted when they experienced a massive electro-magnetic storm that destroyed most of their systems and left them crash landing on the planet apparently named 4546-B. He was one of the lucky few who managed to get inside an escape pod, but while doing planet-fall a circuit panel dislodged from its intended place and hit him on the head.
Apparently transporting our would be a protagonist to this body when Mike got all that information he was quite shell shocked and didn't know what to do, the last thing he remembered was falling asleep in his two-room apartment, there was nothing to indicate that there was anything amiss before he fell asleep. But if he was to survive in this alien world, he couldn't dwell on the past, he had to adapt quickly. It was quite lucky that he got all the information on how to do so from his body because apparently all Alterra Personel had what was called a Personal Digital Assistant or PDA inserted into their brain, it had all the information required to survive in all matter of environments.
All he had to do was think about calling it up and a holographic digital interface loaded up in front of his eyes.

"You have suffered minor head trauma. This is considered an optimal outcome.
This PDA has now rebooted in emergency mode with one directive: to keep you alive in an alien world.
Please refer to the databank for detailed survival advice. Good luck"
And that is exactly what he did when he opened the so so called databank the first thing he saw was a folder named "Emergency Protocol"
"
If you are reading this, then you have survived an emergency evacuation of a capital-class ship equipped with Alterra technology. Congratulations: the hard part is over.
Your PDA has automatically rebooted in Emergency Mode. This operating system has one directive: to keep you alive in a hostile alien world. If that is not possible it will alert salvage teams to the location of your remains.
It features:
- Full monitoring of vital signs for timely survival advice
- Blueprints for fabricating a range of essential survival equipment, tailored to your environment
- Onboard camera, microphone, and OCR technology for short-range situational analysis - Cross-compatibility with all Alterra-compliant products
