As you'll have noticed at this point (the 2, maybe 3 of you who followed this story With Chapter 66, I reached the end of the story's first arc, the one firmly about Chuck and his issues. his arc was always about acknowledging he had problems to those around him and accepting that having people with him beat not having anyone around him. (his issues are far from resolved.) I also realized that reaching Cross Junction was as far as I'd thought about the story. I'm a pantser, so normally that doesn't stop me, but this time, I find I don't even have an idea where to have the story pick up. To that end, I'm putting Unwanted Company on hiatus while I work it out, and I am working it out by writing another story set in this world(streaming that on Thursday Mornings). I haven't decided if I will be posting this here in draft 1 form(draft 1 will be up on my Patreon at some point), the way I did with Unwanted Company(or wait until I am writing the draft 2 version... whenever that'll happen) but my goal with that story is to hammer out the details of how the system works, as well as putting more litRPG elements on the page, instead of avoiding them like the plague. Some elements within that story will contradict how things work within Unwanted Company because, as a pantser, I had no idea how the system would work when I started writing the story. (who knew the system worked in base 13, anyone? well, yes, one of you knew, since you are who pointed that out to me) You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. And finally. because of this, I suspect that when I get back to Unwanted Company, it will be to write the 2nd draft version of this arc so everything is in line before I start the second arc(and it will give me yet more time to figure things out) Thank you for giving the story a chance, despite its ultra-rough state. and I'll see you on the next one.
