Chapter 4

Life is full of surprises and I certainly didn't expected this.. My father had been alive for 14 years, and my Aunt knew? Does Mom even know about this? What about Evan? Does he know about this too? I honestly don't understand.. Why didn't he come look for us? Heck! Why did he even faked his own death at all?! I have so much questions right now.

I was so consumed up in my thoughts I didn't even hear Gabriella calling me.

"Earth to Freddie? Hellooo??" I snapped my attention back to my laptop screen at my desk. "Sorry," I smiled sheepishly. "What were you saying?" She gave me a scrutinizing look. "What's going on? Is everything Okay?" She said. I wanted to tell her what I found out but I needed more information. I smile brightly. "Gabbie I'm fine. I'm just thinking about my ideas for the school prom." She squealed hugging her pillow. "Look at you! Putting together a Prom!" I blushed warmly. "It's pretty amazing. So what's with the big envelope?" I said eyeing this yellow envelope she held in her hand. Her eyes danced as she opened it and held up a creamy brown paper on the camera. "Guess who got into MMA!!" She squealed with pure joy.

Music Masters Academy was the school had been Gabriella's dream school. My eyes widen with a shock smile. I was extremely proud that she got into her dream college. "Oh my gosh! Congrats!! I'm so happy for you." We both were equally excited about her success. After she catches her breathe she asks. "When are you going to send in your application?" I reached for my water bottle next to me. I have worked out a plan on deciding where to go. I was applying for University Of Science in Brooklyn. I absolutely adore science. If they reject me I'll just settle for Harvard, or Cornwall or something." I took a gulp in my water. "Probably in a few weeks. I think I got enough time." I said. Gabbie rolls her eyes. She always hated being late for anything. One of her greatest qualities. "The sooner the better trust me. What are gonna do if they reject you?" She asked. " I'll go to Harvard. Simple." I replied with enthusiasm.

We continued chatting until I heard the telephone ring in the hallway. I was home alone so obviously I'd have to go get it. "Gabbie, I'll call you back. The telephone's ringing." I got up. "Okay, later." She said then the video call ended. I raced to the hallway and picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hello?" The caller answered.

But it call was breaking up. It was clear his signal poor because of the distorted noises in the background. I held the phone a few inches away from my ear. "Hello??" I said. There was no reply. The line has gone completely dead. I hung the phone back unto the wall. Confused about the random phone call I retreated back to my room.
