Prom Night
Well the night's here. It's Prom. I thought to myself as I straightened out my dress on the mirror.
And I'm going without a date.
I sighed to myself but have a small smile. "Well, I'd rather go to Prom by myself than spend the night with a player."
Since the break up everything had become bland and awkward. Unfortunately, word got out that we broke up, front and center on the school blog. There were whispers, funny looks and of course Amy herself just had to get a finger dipped in the pie as well and overall just having to share the same building with the stupid scum. He even managed to sneak flowers and poetry into my locker every morning. Luckily I managed to get through it with the very last few decent people there had been left in the school. Hailey had tried to snatch a private moment with her but I ticked her off pretty badly, I mean who wouldn't? She had stolen my boyfriend.
And that's when I almost blew my cover. I may blurted out that her parents are full pledged thieves. Not so bluntly, but from her reaction she seemed to have gotten it. She looked shocked for a moment until she cracked a laugh. She wiped a year from her eyes. "Oh wow, like I know you wanna get me back and everything, but really? My parents?" Then she composed herself and said seriously. "I'm sorry. I really am, but Tony isn't the one to be blamed here, trust me Freddie. You don't know his full story." She sensing that I would ask her more questions she hurriedly rushed away from me. I flatly refused to believe a word she said, but I couldn't help it but let her words slip into my head.
I couldn't have thought about it for much longer because I had a mission with Evan. The Robinsons was holding a antique bidding tonight, and it was happening just a few blocks away from Rontono High. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I'm gonna have to be at two places at the same time. I can't throw the entire chaperone job unto Amy, and I can't ditch my friends either.
I came downstairs in a darkly colored purple dress with sequins and long sleeved, my hair pinned up with a blue butterfly hair clip matched with a pair of black pumps and my black purse.
My mom stood at the front door with a camera in her hands. Her eyes gleamed with excitement. "Oh my god, my baby girl is growing up." She says, wildly snapping pictures of me. Then she looks at me with a smile. "You look beautiful, dear. " I smiled shielding my eyes from the flash. "Thanks mom."
"You're welcome sweetheart," She said, "And you go have fun tonight, don't worry about that Tony. Tonight is about you."
I rolled my eyes. "As if. I'd be too busy with overseeing the party to have his attention." And that's quite true, I would be very busy tonight. I'm also very nervous, but still little does my mom even knows that my dress can be quickly turned into a slick full suit with just a few zips.
I peered at the time on my phone. It was almost 8:29. "I have to go mom, Evan's waiting." I said pulling the chain purse into my shoulder. She finally stops fussing with the pictures and says, "Okay, Okay I won't have you here any longer." She hugs me and plants a kiss on my head. "Have fun. Bye." I waved her goodbye and walked out the door.
I walk outside the entrance gate, and there stood on the road Evan's shiny black car. I hop in the front seat and put on my seatbelt. He starts up the engine then turns to me.
"You ready?" He asks curiously.
"You bet." I responded. And we drove off to our destination.
Once we arrived outside the school Evan agreed that he would attend the bidding first, while I'm at prom. He explained that the school has a secret passage to the building that the show was being hosted at, which also stores some of the antiques. Once the bidding begins to settle down I'm going try to get into the storage room and lure out the stolen items while Evan calls the police and the some of the members from the agency.
I arrive inside the gymnasium to full on loud music, winter themed decorations along with LED rainbow fairy lights. Overall it looked pretty mesmerizing, I loved it.
The floor was packed with students all dressed up in their dresses and suites, and.... Whatever some of these people decided to wear.
I saw Amy surrounded by a group of girls in a corner of the gymnasium, and Hailey was among them. They were talking and laughing at some of the other kids sense of fashion.
Then I saw Jessica and Cassie strutting up my way. They looked fantastic, with their blue and white matching dresses, black pump, makeup and hair in tact.
"Well, we wondered when you would get here," Cassie shook her head. "We were just about to do a bit of searching ourselves." I smiled sheepishly. "Sorry girls, I was fashionably late. So what's happening so far?"

Jessica shouts. "Well, they're about to announce who's King and Queen soon and the chips are getting airy." Then she links her arm into Cassie's and her right arm into mine. "Shall we dance?" She smirked. I looked at Cassie and Cassie looked at me then we burst into a fit of laughter.
"Well of course." We chorused.
2 hours later....
I had been enjoying myself for the last hour or so dancing my heart out, refilling snacks and drinks and having a good time with my friends.
Now it was time to carry out my part of the mission.
Evan phoned me and said that I had to be at the building in 20 minutes. I rattled off a rather questionable excuse and dashed out. On my back out the gymnasium I bumped into someone.
I looked up and It was none other than Tony. He wore a very handsome suite with a red rose sticking out the pocket of his jacket. His hair slicked back, neatly curled.
"Hey Freddie, you leaving already?" He asked curiously
I shook my head and rubbed my arm nervously, as I tried to sputter out an excuse. "Um, not exactly. I have to, um, talk to one of the staff who stayed behind. I just need to find out something." Then I looked at him, "You look great though."
He looks a bit taken aback for a moment, but quickly covered it with a smile. "Thanks, you look gorgeous too," He mumbles nervously.
A small smile spread across my face. Then the earpiece in my ear started buzzing. It was Evan calling, I had to go. He cleared his throat to say something but I beat him to it. I looked at the time on my phone. "I'm sorry, I have to go. I'll, um see you around." I immediately walked passed him and into the hallway.
Making sure no one was in sight I started unzipping my dress, to re-fashioned it into a tight fitted body suite, with just a few more zips. The buzzing in my ear started again, I pushed a tiny button on the earpiece. "Freddie? Where are you? You were supposed to be at the building already." Evan voiced demanded.
I grunted annoyingly. "I know, I'm just heading there now."
"Good," He responded. "Take the staircase to the emergency exit upstairs. Once you got there, there's a door behind the boilers. That should like you into the passage, to get you over here." He concluded.
"Got it."
As he said I followed his directions and I made it to the boiler room. Looking around the room it was damp, dim lighting with quiet drippings from a corner. I carefully made my way behind one of the boilers and there stood behind it was a blue door with a white doorknob. Carefully opening the door and there came a darkness in front of the door. There was a switch just beside the door. I flipped it on and I light shone through the secret passage revealing a downward staircase.
'Here goes nothing.' I thought.
Taking a shaky breathe I closed the door behind me and walked down the stairs. There was a straight pathway for some time till I walked into an open room with wooden tables and a filling cabinet. The room was packed with small crates, boxs and old school equipments. I pressed my earpiece. "I think I made it, though I'm not sure." I spoke lowly.
"Is there crates in the room?" He asked.
"Yeah?" I responded.
"Then obviously you have." He said condescending, "Now, do you see a door anywhere? "
I looked about the room till I spotted a door in the near corner of the room. It almost looks camouflaged then, he continues. "That door takes you to the side front out the building. All you have to do is carry some of the crates outside until the rest of the guys get there. Get out of there as soon as you can, and back to school. It's too risky getting you caught."
"Aww, someone cares about their sibling." I began to tease him, "So sweet." He scoffs into the earpiece. "Kid, please. If you get caught we're all doomed. Don't flatter yourself, now get going."
I rolled my eyes with the shake of my head. I gathered some of the crates and carried them through the door. As Evan said the passage led to the side entrance outside the building. I saw the school just across the street. I began to pile the crates in a secluded corner then I made my way back to the passage. When I got back I suddenly heard voices behind the closed the door. My heart dropped to bottom of my stomach.
'Oh Crap!' I whispered. I immediately searched for a hiding place.
The filling cabinet looked large enough to hide behind so I dropped to the floor and scampered to it. I hid just in time as the door was pushed open and grown men voices could be heard.
"I can't believe boss cancelled the plans for more collection crates," One said angrily, "They would have came in pretty handy now, since the bidding became successful." Then I heard the sound of crates being opened, duck tape being used and some unknown mumblings.
Then another one shouted out. "Hey, did you put the crates outside? Who came in here?" My heart leaped into my throat and I tried shrinking my body in tiniest way possible. I was shaken from head to toe.
I'm doomed I thought scared.
"Someone must have came in before us. Search the area. They may be still here." I heard footsteps coming closer to my hiding place. I could barely breathe as the sound became closer and closer.
Sensing that the man was about to look behind the cabinet, I darted out on the opposite side running out the open doorway. The man gasped and exclaimed. "H- hey! Get back here!"
I ran as fast as I possible could for my life. I pressed my earpiece. "Evan! Send help someone's here. They're after me." I couldn't stop but unfortunately perhaps I ran for my life just a tad too fast for I tripped on a medium sized gap in the floor. I looked behind me and the man was gaining up on me. I quickly got back up again and ran. I couldn't run as fast and sadly he caught up to me. Locked in his embrace I fought my hardest to get out and next thing I knew I saw a cloth being forced at my nose. I tackled his hand prying it away from my face. The strong scent filled my nose with a burn and Immediately I felt weakened. My hands fell from fighting and my legs suddenly gave up. Everything was started spinning and my vision blurred.
Before I knew it I was out like a light.
