The rain fell from the sky, as the storm raged with its winds. The soil turned into mud and only a few strands of light from the moon could get past the dark clouds. The thunder roared in the distance, quickly drowned by the sound of a million drops falling from the sky.
Inside this forest, scourged by the storm, a single boy was running. His gray jumpsuit wet and stained by the dirt, his brown hair dirty and covered by mud. His perfectly black eyes showing fear and young determination at the same time. His boots made a squishy noise as he stepped on the mud, but it was inaudible in the hell of noises that surrounded him.
The boy ran with all his might, to the point he was damaging his muscles but he didn't care. He just kept running as quickly as he could, not seeing back. Several lights illuminated the dark sky. It wasn't lightning, but helicopters made of a peerless black metal. They were searching for him with their spotlights.
The boy didn't care, as he just kept running. He didn't slow down at the sound of dogs barking, he didn't slow down at the sound of shouting, he didn't slow down when one of the helicopters illuminated him briefly. He kept running, even with the growing fear that was displayed in his eyes, they also showed an unyielding determination.
He kept running until the barking was left behind. He kept running until the shouting of men was left behind. He kept running until his legs burned more than fire. He kept running until his conscience began to fade away. He kept running until he tripped, and fell to the ground.

A young girl was sleeping soundly on her bed, snoring as the sun came from her window and the light hit her face. But she kept sleeping, not caring about it and just covering her head with the blanket. Then, suddenly, the alarm clock sounded.
The girl sat on her bed quickly, startled by the sound but quickly calmed. She turned off the alarm and stretch. She then fell on the bed, preparing herself to continue sleeping. As sleep began invading her, she opened her eyes in an irritated manner, and looked at the clock.
6:30 AM
Time to stand up.
The girl sat on her bed and rubbed her left eye. I shouldn't have stayed awake for so long, she thought. Her mind was dizzy, and she sat there motionless with her mind completely blank for a bit. Then suddenly it came to her, she was going to be late on the first day!
She then quickly went to the bathroom and washed her teeth, vocal hygiene was important. She then changed into a blue shirt with buttons, and black pants, the uniform of the high school, and began brushing her black hair for a good five minutes.
She then went to the mirror and looked at herself. Her black hair was brushed and made it to her shoulders, her black pants were ironed as well as her buttoned blue shirt. Her brown eyes were sleepy though, but she quickly fixed that with a bit of cold water.
'I'm forgetting something' She thought, but couldn't remember. She then dismissed it as part of her imagination. She put the uniform on, brushed her hair and teeth, her backpack was on the bed too. What could she have forgotten about?
The girl then took her backpack, and went out of her room. The house was empty, the only one inside being the girl, she went to the kitchen to pick up her breakfast. It was empty too. In the table there was a brown bag and a note. She put the bag on her backpack and read the note.
'Had to go early to the work, someone had an accident. The breakfast is on the table. Love you, mom.'
The girl left the note there, left the house, and headed to her school. It wasn't very far, she could go walking, she liked walking. It gave her time to think.

Her mother was a nurse. She worked on the hospital most of the day so she didn't had a lot of interaction with her, but the few moments they were together were dear to her. Her mom was caring and kind, and they were always happy near the other. But there's always the guy who decided to crash his car, so they weren't together often.
She wanted to be like her mother, help others, but she didn't want to be a nurse, she wanted to be a doctor. The daughters must aim to be better than their mothers, right? So that their sons would be even better. That was she was taught, and that was what she was going to do.
Being better than your father, will make your son to be better than you.
The school grounds was bustling with people. Most of them were students from twelve to sixteen years old, but there were also the teachers. They had been singing the hymn, something that the principal assured to be important, 'to preserve the traditions'.
They had just ended, and the large group was dissolved. Most students were heading to their classrooms. The girl was in that group. She went to her classroom along with a few others she didn't know. Most of the students were chatting among themselves, others were doing something with their notebooks, and a few were just waiting for the teacher to arrive.
She took a small paper she was given out of a pocket in her pants, it said where was her seat. She went a sat down besides a girl, and a boy.
She looked around, looking for a familiar face, but stopped once she found none. She would have to make friends again. It wasn't something she liked.
“Hello, I'm Ethan.” Said the boy. He had short black hair, and light brown eyes. He extended a hand to her, waiting for a reply.
“Aly.” Said the girl, lightly shaking his hand.
“Nice to meet you.” He said again.
But before she could answer, the teacher intruded in their classroom. He then began speaking and presenting himself as 'Professor Shawn Tetale'. Then the first class, that consisted mostly of students presenting themselves and a small talk about responsibility, began.

The boy opened his eyes. He had been unconscious for hours, maybe a day. He tried to stand up, and fell to the ground. His legs felt like trash, it didn't surprise him thought, when you spend your entire life imprisoned, and then suddenly have for two entire hours, you'd expect to feel like this. Maybe even worse.
He tried to stand up again, this time he put his hand on a tree to support himself. Then the pain on his legs started. It felt like a sting, but it covered his two legs. He almost fell again to the ground, but he managed to stand up.
The boy then looked around, he was in the forest, and he could hear several cars on the distance. There was a city nearby. He had read about them, and saw some on the TV, he wanted to see one in person. Besides, staying on the wilderness wouldn't be the brightest thing. There were hunting mammals called 'bears' and pack carnivores called 'wolves'.
He then began walking to the source of the sound, bumping into some trees from time to time.
The pain on his legs was like a curse and he had to stop to rest from time to time. He wanted to sleep right there and relieve his pain, but it would be too dangerous to do so. He may have grown inside of an isolated laboratory, but he wasn't stupid.
The travel was harsh and the pain nearly unbearable, but he had finally done it. He got fifty meters from his original spot.
He had a long way ahead.
