The sun slowly rose, as Karma woke up feeling some sort of obstacle squeezing tightly onto his back. Upon turning slowly, his eyes glanced upon L. When did she get there..?! He began to slightly panic, having never had a girl (apart from his mother) sleep even within the same house as him, not to mention the same room and bed!
L had now began to awaken, rising up slowly with a yawn. Her eyes glanced around the room, quietly observing. Her grip onto Karma lessened as she awoke. As her body stretched out, both she and Karma yawned. L's voice was quite high pitched, and lingered in the room. Karma was enthralled by the tone and pitch of her voice.
He hopped out of the bed, as L followed. She held Karma’s hand tightly, which would likely give off an ‘unseperable’ aura in some fantasy novel. The two of them walked downstairs toward the kitchen and living room, where both sat down and waited. Aikuri entered the kitchen with an apron on, at first she only saw Karma. Her face lit up in delight, as she walked over to see the two.
”Are you hungry..?”
She spoke, as if she were eager to feed Karma and L.
”I am.. but I don’t know about-“
His voice was cut off by the sudden sound of a pan falling to the floor, following with Aikuri’s quick motion to grab it, and quickly apologized for the mistake. Of course, Karma wasn’t bothered, and politely smiled at her. Somehow, this only made Aikuri more nervous and apologize more.
A voice spoke within his head, following with a laugh. “You’re so used to this, you’re not even going to question things anymore. Are you?” It spoke as if to make a mockery of him, before it vanished with a headache.
Aikuri looked at Karma, before tapping onto him to gather his attention. She seemed rather worried as he continued to daze off. She continued to tap on him again, managing to get his attention. Her eyes reflected the worry she carried, and stared directly at him.
”Do you want some breakfast..?”
Karma stared at her for a second, before laughing nervously. Maybe he hadn’t gotten enough sleep, and could use something to eat. After all, random voices don't usually come and go with headaches.
“I could eat anything right about now, so i’d be more than happy to have some.”
She began making some breakfast for the four living in the household, which was now including Karma. She was quick to prepare Bacon, Eggs, Bread, and Milk. All looked thoroughly cooked well. Aikuri set out the plates for them to eat, including one for her. It wasn’t long before they noticed Sanjo wasn’t at the table. L hopped off the seat, and walked toward the wooden steps that lead toward the second floor of the older house. The bags under her eyes cleared up, as she began to quickly move up the stairs.
Karma and Aikuri nod as L went upstairs. They waited about six minutes, before Karma saw there to be no real need to wait for Sanjo, and he dug in. A smile formed on his face, as he ate the food she’d made, he was delighted by just the smell of it. Of course, the food’s own taste was even better, it was exquisite!
Aikuri’s nervous smile quickly changes into a proud and real smile. She was happy he enjoyed the food she made cooking.
It wasn’t even a minute of seeing him, and he quickly vanished out the door. It was almost weird to see him just fly out the door, not that Keima really knew what he was like yet.
“Business calls.. I guess?”
Karma laughed at his own joke nervously, and then continued eating in embarrassment. After they finished eating, he stood up and walked toward the door.
“You don’t mind if I goto that town around here, right?”
Aikuri and L were quick to respond, though with a different answer then Karma would have thought of.
”Wait for me then..!”
He confusedly nod, and awaited at the door. About ten minutes passed by, and they were not to be found. He almost considered going up and asking what was taking so long. Though, he wanted to be nice, considering everything they’d done for him.
Eventually, the two finished readying up, and wore what looked somewhat similar to his school’s uniform. Of course, their was quite the difference in each. L wore a skirt of a checkered pattern, which looked like Keima’s uniforms colors, along with a plain white shirt which wrapped around her in a almost tight way. Aikuri however, wore a black shirt as well as the simple plaid checkered red and black skirt L wore. For some ‘new area’ it didn’t seem too far off from his. Surprised, he stared for a quick while. He almost couldn’t take his eyes off of them.

”You two look really great in those!”
Karma spoke in a quiet voice, and smiled at the girls. Aikuri was first to respond, before nervously glancing at him.
”Me and L spent all night working on them with materials we had around the house. We wanted to get a similar outfit to what you wear, but we ended up with this in the end..”
As she neared the end of her words, he shook his head and spoke out with an eager sense of enjoyment.
“I had no clue you could sow, that's pretty cool!”
L smiled and quietly walked over to Karma. She tugged on his sleeve, and gripped onto him tightly. Her face lit up before she looked at Aikuri.
”Let’s go to the town now..!”
Aikuri blushed brightly, as her face grew red. She went over to him and grabbed his hand with a somewhat elegant aura revolving around her.
”Y-Yeah... let’s g-go.”
Having no clue what to do, Karma sighed and exited the house. On one side of him (his left side), a small girl held his sleeve and gripped onto it tightly. On the other, a taller, mature, and nervous girl was holding his hand. How does this even happen?
About an hour after beginning their walk, they reached the town. It was relatively clean and had plenty of food stalls. People seemed desperate for money, which made sense in a world like this. It took him awhile to calm down of course, considering the incident from before.
“What type of currency is this? You can’t use that here.”
Aikuri and L both tugged on him, pulling him toward a bar, which confused him slightly. He sighed and spoke. ”I could use a water.” L and Aikuri nod, “We needed a drink too..”
The four of them entered, and quick sat at one of the many tables in the bar. A waitress was quick to attend them, “What can I serve you?” The three of them answered the same, “One water please.” She returned with their drinks, and went to serving others.
A girl walked up to them, her hair ran down in a dark shade of purple, it ran down her slender figure. She had the eye color of a black cat, with them being a hazel color. On her person, she had a holster of two weapons to her side. She wore a ‘witches hat’ along with a black sweater, and black silk pants, wherever he was, it was a similar style to his home. The girl walked ever closer, before quietly and nervously speaking. “I-I beseech thee..!”
”Huh?”
There was a ten minute pause, before anyone even considered speaking. The nervous and quiet girl spoke once more, before backing up a few feet.
”I-I’m Sorry..!”
Karma stared at the girl who’d started an odd conversation. Huh..? I don’t quite get it...
He looked at her, as if unsure what to do or say, and quietly sighed.
As words left Karma’s mouth she nervously looked over to him.
“I don’t... understand...” He forced a smile, and awkwardly stared at the girl, whom was now almost frozen in place by the looks of it.
Both Aikuri and L couldn’t help but invite the girl over to a now pulled-up chair. The girl, who’s name was not yet known, sat down in the chair.
As she sat, she started to slightly tear up and sniffe, making Keima feel like he’d done something wrong. “S-So anyway... what’s your name?”
She wiped her eyes, and whimpered out with a small bit of confidence, which could easily be misinterpreted as nothing. “My name is Niri... Niri Volei.”
Niri had calmed down by now, and quietly sat in the seat between Aikuri and L, whom were smiling brightly at her. Meanwhile, Karma couldn’t be any more confused at the situation, after all he hadn’t even gotten used to the fact he was in some new sort of place, wherever he was.
Karma sighed, before looking back at Aikuri, L, and the now known Niri. He reached into his pocket, taking out an older cell phone. Somehow, it still had battery, even though it was only about 30% left. Of course, there wasn’t any service. He sighed, before smiling, and taking a picture of the three girls sitting together.
After about thirty minutes of the three girls talking, they’d somehow come to the conclusion that she lived with them. Karma’d not heard the full story, so he was obviously confused. Of course, he was the same, so it didn’t really matter. The now four of them walked back to the older house, and entered it. Each one took their shoes off at the enterance, as to prevent getting the house dirty from their shoes.
As Karma entered, he went to sit down at the couch. L sat next to him, seeming to fall asleep right away. Aikuri and Niri entered before them, and made their way to her room. Karma began to think, and took out the almost ‘dead’ smartphone.
“I should probably leave.”
He stared at the smartphone for awhile longer, being around ten minutes. Karma eventually shoved it right back into his pocket. He looked down to L, who’d fallen asleep earlier, falling onto him.
The old man wouldn’t be home soon, so it was obvious he couldn’t tell him. Karma carefully stood up, putting L’s soft head onto the couch. He reached into his back pocket, taking out the ‘invalid currency’, and put it onto the couch next to L. The shoes he wore lightly tapped against the floor as he walked toward the front door. Karma turned the knob, and exited the house with a yawn.
Aikuri and Niri had finished clearing up a space, both grinned with pride after they finished. Aikuri walked out of the room, looking for Karma to ‘spoil’ her with compliments. Though, she was to no avail. However, she did see L on the couch, as well as the ’invalid currency’ to her. Aikuri walked over, and glanced toward the door. She tapped on L’s shoulder, and called out to Niri.
“Karma has left us... it seems.”
L seemed to jolt up after hearing Aikuri’s words, and walked toward the door connecting the outside with the inside. She quickly exited, and ran off in a sprint.
