So we waited for the end of the world next to some rent a cop that I knocked out me gripping my makeshift weapon waiting for the end of the world. I don't know what I was expecting. Fire brimstone spouting from the ground, a hole in the universe ripping in the basement to let out some eldritch horror.
Nothing happened.
I stood there looking like an idiot holding a taser and a knife. Like I was Rambo and his sidekick…. Not Rambo. I've never seen the movies with Rambo in them.
Me and Alex stood there armed and ready for the end of the world to happen with that weird blue box just being there.
Initiate World Break. Good Luck
It stood there for a good second after the World break was supposed to happen.
“This end of the world seems a little soft. ” Alex said, lowering the baton. I started to reply before I started to burn. It started in my head like someone turned on a furnace and threw me in there. Then it hit the rest of my body like being struck by lightning over and over again. I tried to scream once and maybe I did but I was in too much pain to really tell if it was me. I fell to my knees and hit the floor face first but I barely felt it. I was thrashing as the pain circulated my body.
I saw a glimpse of Alex. He seemed to be just as bad as me. Shaking mouth agape as he tried to scream the veins on his skin thrashing so hard I can see them on his dark skin. I could smell piss on the ground from my brother and thought for a quick second how fun it'll be to make fun of him for pissing his pants. Before another bolt of electricity radiated my body and I lost control of my own bowls and a wet mark appeared on my pants and on the floor.
I thrashed and screamed, and tried to scream for what felt like an eternity. the burning in my head had vanished to be replaced with a cold burning pressure so intense that I somehow found the strength to press my hand on my head.
I wanted it to stop. for everything to stop. I wanted to close my eyes and forget the pain and the torture and everything. I felt myself fading. it wasn't as if the pain disappeared more so that my connection to the body that was in so much pain was lessening. The corner of my eyes was getting darker and I was welcoming that dark.
Until I saw Alex. mouth agape as he tried to scream. his body thrashing on the floor a foot away from me. I couldn't let him die. letting go of my head with one of my hand I reached for him. I don't know why or what compelled me to do so but I just knew that if he could see me, see my hand maybe at least could make it through this.
Through some miracle he saw me. I don't know how but he reached for me and it helped.
I don't know how long we spent there on the ground in pain as the world ended.

Suddenly there was a euphoric rush of energy and all the pain disappeared.
The pain now more like a memory or a dream you know you had but the details elude you. It was gone as soon as it arrived. It had felt like an eternity and a half but now looking at the watch on my arm, only a couple of minutes have actually gone by.
That being said even the faintest of memory of that pain was enough that I just laid there in my own piss for a couple minutes just breathing in and out.
Alex was doing the same a couple feet next to me in front of the guy I knocked out. He tried to stand up. Before stopping and just rolling on his back.
I forced myself at the very least roll away from my piss and onto my back. I sat there for about a second trying to catch my breath when a blue box appeared right in front of my face almost causing me to piss my pants for a second time.

To say that I was a little shocked to see some RPG wannabe stat sheet for myself would be grossly understating it somehow being a letdown. I expected more from the end of the world if it's named something like World Break.
The stats themselves, they made some sense. My highest stats being strength, endurance, and vitality made sense. I've been in my share of fights over the years and learned hot take and doll one out. I stare at it for a while trying to connect the number to my life and see if it works. My lack of Charisma, Wisdom, and Luck seems appropriate.
“You see your stats?” I ask my voice barely containing the annoyance, weirdness, general disbelief at how this whole thing is turning out.
“Yeah, I'm looking at it right now. I wish you could see this, it's so eerie how right this entire list seems to be." Alex said from the ground.
I open my mouth to reply but the same blue dot from before appears and is shoved in my face.

I read the box annoyed and really wanting nothing more than to punch whoever made these descriptions. I tried to wave it away with my hand bu my hand just went through it as if it wasn't even there, which only served to make me madder.
"It's not really there" Alex said not even looking at me staring at his own blue box. "Do it with your mind."
Grumbling a little bit I mentally swipe right on the box and it goes away. only for another one to show right up.

this one annoyed me a lot less but frankly, I was barely paying attention to it. this isn't the first time that it's been suggested that Alex and me have a relationship that was slightly codependent. How many times have I ran away from some shitty foster home to hang out with Alex. How many times have I talked Alex into doing something that he didn't want to and vice versa. the feeling I got when I looked at the boxes, the feeling that its blanket truth. it hit hard. Hell half the reason I made it through the World Break was because of him.
I looked at him nervously. it's no secret that I need him more than he needs me. hell, when he sees that blue box he might not even have [CODEPENDCY LVL 1] in his box.
He finished reading his box and looked at me. I stood, or more accurately leaned, against the wall and looked at waiting for him to do... something.
He took a deep breath looked at me and said. "So you pissed your pants"
I looked at him for a second then just started laughing. it started out as a chuckle then I just lost control of it that I am actually glad that my bowels were empty.
"That all you have to say. We just spent what felt like an eternity getting tortured, and all you have to talk about is me pissing my pants." I said still laughing I needed that.
"Felt like a better ice breaker than do you think that the worse we have to expect."
I opened my mouth to answer when the guard moved.
"Fuck," Alex said jumping over the guy's body dropping the baton as he leaped over the body next to me. I stared at the guy ready to hit him again and try and knock him out.
"Don't," Alex said putting his arm in front of me. He looked at the guy and looked confused. "Something not right with him."
I was about to say something, probably something witty and snug. when I looked at the guy a little more. he was moving but it was off. just the way his leg twist and went up. his head didn't move as his entire body tried to lift itself up. Like someone was trying to lift him on strings attached to the move-y bits without knowing how the body worked.
I take an involuntary step back and another blue box pops in my line of sight
