“This is your dorms; you’ll each have a room to yourself. Your names are already on the doors, so, no need to fight over a room.”
He led us to the next place.
“This is the cafeteria; it’s shared between all of the first-year classes.”
He then led us to a long empty hall-way.
“And this is your first lesson.”
“Always be on guard.”
The floor suddenly disappeared and we all fell to a big empty room.
A lot of students audibly gasped.
“What!?”
“What is this!?”
“Where are we?!?”
In the face of confusion there was a calm person as well.
“Class had already started when we were teleported there.”
Teleported? Is that what it was?
“It seems like his first lesson was for us to always be prepared...”
He looked around and there were strange hunchbacked green creatures.
“Goblins!?”
“Are those goblins!?”
“I don’t have my sword!”
“What is this!?”
Goblins? Was that what those were called?
There were goblins all around us, most people didn’t have a weapon.
“Woah, this is crazy, isn’t it Kai, Ella?”
I shrugged my shoulders. Ella just looked at the goblins.
The goblins didn’t look too strong, they were quite a bit smaller than me, if anything I could probably stomp their head in.
“I think that Instructor has us fighting against goblins as a warning to us.”
Probably.
“Gather around!”
The person from before had shouted
“If you don’t have a weapon, stay in a circle! Those with a weapon stand your ground and protect those without one!”
He was taking the leadership position.
Everyone decided to follow his orders for now and we gathered in a circle.
“They’re just goblins! Don’t panic!”
The goblins were just standing there, looking at us. They weren’t making any moves.
They... Don’t seem real?

I decided to walk towards one.
“Hey! What are you doing!?” The leader shouted
“Kai!?” Olly shouted
Ella just looked at me.
“Isn’t that the gangster?”
“I think so...”
“Hey... Why are you calling my friend a gangster.” Olly glared at those who were talking.
“W-Well! It’s just that he hung out with them!”
“W-We’re just saying what was rumored!”
“Isn’t that he apart of Duke Ramsmith’s family? I didn’t know they and Duke Steel’s family were friendly...” A person whispered
“Huh? Kai is apart of Duke Steel’s family?” Olly looked back at me.
I was already close enough to the goblins. But even after I got this close, they hadn’t moved.
They weren’t real.
I tried to touch one of them but my hand passed through it.
“They’re fake!?”
“Illusions?”
Kendel appeared.
“Hmm, Glen and Kai, good work to you two.”
“Good job taking control and keeping the class calm, Glen.”
“And good job on figuring out they were fake, Kai.”
I headed back towards the group and nodded my head.
“Good job to those who had a sword on them as well.”
“This was my first lesson to you all. Always be prepared.”
Soon after in the blink of an eye, we were at an open training area.
Kendel spoke
“I’ll let you know right now; you’ll be running for the next 6 months.”
“What?”
“Huh?”
“Running for 6 months?”
“Shouldn’t we learn how to use a sword?”
“I’ll let you all take a short break.”
Kendel sat and watched us.
“Instructor! Shouldn’t we learn how to use a sword!?”
“Yeah! This is Knight Academy!”
“We should be learning swordsmanship, footwork, and aura!”
Kendel spoke.
“Do you all think so?”
“Do you really think you can skip your basics and immediately learn the advanced stuff?”
Everyone was silent.
Olly whispered to me.
“So, you’re apart of Duke Steel’s family, Kai?”
I looked at him and nodded my head.
I guess I never told him, I mean it didn’t really matter.
“I’m apart of Duke Ramsmith’s family, it doesn’t look like you know.”
“Are you?”
“Yup! What a coincidence we’re both part of duke’s families, haha.”
Was there more than 1 duke’s family? Jane didn’t teach me this. But I assume we’re probably on equal standing then.
“Are you planning to run as the instructor says?”
I nodded my head.
Glen, the person who took leadership during the goblins came up to me.
“How did you know?”
“Hm?”
“How did you know that they were illusions?”
It seemed like everyone around was curious as they listened in.
…
“Their eyes.”
“What? Their eyes?”
I nodded my head.
“How could you tell from their eyes?”
“You-”
“Alright everyone, start running!” Kendel cut my sentence off.
“Tell me later, please.” Glen started to run.
He didn’t seem like a bad person.
I started to run as well, Olly and Ella ran by my side.
He only told us to stop after a few hours went by, everyone was exhausted. Even though a lot of the students began to walk after getting too tired to run, no one stopped moving.
I sat and laid on the ground, Olly sat next to on my left while Ella was sitting towards my right.
“That’s- Exhausting...” Olly could barely let out; he was panting as heavily as I was.
Ella was breathing heavily as well.
I nodded my head.
The water bottles didn’t appear this time.
“Good job, everyone! I’d like it if everyone kept running and didn’t walk though.”
“But now you’ll start working your body.”
Huh? Didn’t we just work our body?
A lot of people had a confused look on their face including me.
“You’ll be working your muscles, that was just cardio. Everyone head to the room that way and start doing exercises!”
He pointed at a hallway.
“We can’t be teleporting you all forever! You’ll be walking around everywhere from now on!”
That was good, it felt weird anyway.
I got up and started walking to the exercise room. Ella and Olly followed shortly after.
