Prologue - The room

Prologue - The room

There was nothing extraordinary about this room. Pitch black walls, marbled floor and a white textured ceiling no higher than 2 meters tall. In each corner of the rectangular space stood decorative glass-like pillars each shaped as if they were 4 armed figures holding up the roof. The room was 50 square meters in total, with the majority of the space empty.Yet the non-empty space contained items far from the common mans definition of ordinary.

In the center of the room lay an oddly shaped, almost hexagonal, red wood table with 6 twisted legs that seemingly emmited a cool white glow. Surrounding it were 2 unconfortable looking iron chairs on opposite sides of the table. Probably the most odd thing about this room, though, were the two people sitting on each chair.

The room had no doors, no hidden hatches and no windows. Whoever constructed such a room, although if such a person even exists is undoubtably questionable, would swear they did not construct the room with these entities inside. The walls were immaculate and whole; these walls were untouched and there were no obvious points of breakage. An observer from the outside of this black box would not even be able to image anyone entering by any typical mean. Many would even doubt whether an observer would associate this pitch black cube as a room, and not some artifcact or sculptors abandonded project. Nevertheless, somehow there were people within the dark walls, although their purpose for entry would be unbenknown to all who did not witness them personally.

"I sincerely hope that what you have to say won't be a complete waste of time, I only have an eternity to spend on this life you know". The first to break the ceaseless silence was the youngest, or should I say the one with with thhe most identifiable age, of the two. His disinterested tone only complemented his middle aged features. Brown eyes, lightly wrinkled forhead, greying dark brown hair down to the shoulders. His rounded chin was stubbled with pure white hair.

The second man simply remained motionless, as if such a question were a triffle to be ignored. After a few seconds, the man slowly opened his eyelids to reveal 2 glowing eyes completely covered by a purple hue. The rest of the man suddenly juttered and shifted in response, remaining almost formless yet still obviously human in shape.

"Do you think I would waste my OWN time personally coming here if I didn't have anything that could move such a lifeless unending like you?". The formless entities voice echoed through the room as if a thousand souls whispered in unison.

"I know everything, see everywhere and hear everyone. Only the minds of another pest such as yourself pervades me, so the quicker I get my answer, the more of the uknown I will know and the less bored i'll be". The formless human could clearly see from the younger mans rapid speech that his delay had sparked an emotion he hadn't witnessed from another unending for eons - frustration.

"Then, Wissen the knowing", the formless man quipped, fully intending on making the most of this rare event, "I shall tell you what you know. Those pitiful, bored gods seem to have created a galaxy none too disimilar from the guiding rules of our own. They intend on creating an isolated planet to have the most successful species from our realms to battle"

"Informem, surely you haven't had me return to this desolate, uninteresting place just for the stupidity of those mindless beings"

"Of course not. I've invited you... too make a little bet"
