I jolted awake as a loud crash echoed through my room, followed by a cacophony of men shouting. "Is this a frat party gone horribly wrong?" I wondered, rubbing my eyes in disbelief. But as I looked down, I nearly fell out of bed in shock – my body had reverted to that of my 16-year-old self!
"Holy shit, how did I change back?" I exclaimed in a high-pitched voice. My brain scrambled to make sense of the bizarre situation, but before I could process anything, the invaders burst in.
With the agility of a drunken squirrel, I leaped off my bed, trying to fend off the unexpected attackers. "Who the fuck are you guys? I already got my room service!" I yelled in mock terror. But as the men got closer, I realized I needed some backup – fast!
Frantically, I searched my character sheet. "Where is that thing? Ah, found it!" I shouted triumphantly as I willed the class dropdown to populate its choices.
The dropdown opened up. "Alright, time to pick a class to save myself from this beatdown," I said, my eyes glanced over the options. As I was about to will the Paladin class active, one of the attackers lunged at me, causing me to lose focus. When I looked back at the dropdown, I willed the first P word I saw active.
"Uh-oh... That didn't feel right," I muttered, feeling a strange tingling sensation all over my body. In a puff of pink and purple sparkles, my transformation was complete. I was now a petite Female Gnome Priest with pink pigtails, staring in bewilderment at my new form.
"Wait, I'm Healsatot now? Seriously?" I exclaimed in a squeaky voice. I couldn't help but find the whole situation ludicrous. Still, there was no time for self-doubt as the intruders continued their advance.
"Hey, fellas! Welcome to the Healsatot show! I hope you brought your permission slips 'cause you're about to get schooled!" I chirped, trying to channel my newfound priestly confidence. I raised my staff with a flourish, and a tiny bell at the top tinkled cheerfully. "Behold, the powers of Healsatot, the indomitable Gnome Priest!" I proclaimed, my newfound priestly confidence shining through. I waved my staff, adorned with charms and trinkets, channeling the magic within. Fortunately for me Healsatot was by far my most well geared and Overpowered character. Unfortunately for me she was a she and a healer.
The men paused for a moment, staring at the spectacle before them. "What's this? A gnome with pink pigtails? Are we being pranked?" one of them scoffed.
"Prepare to be amazed! Spirit Guardians, protect me!" I declared, closing my eyes in concentration. The room filled with a radiant glow as ethereal beings materialized around me. They looked like mystical sprites, complete with wings and halos, ready to defend their gnome companion. I took a moment while the Spirit Guardians had the intruders attention to open my offensive spells in my spell book. I looked through for some of the abilities I hadn’t used since leveling and decided it should be easy enough to destroy these fools.
With a playful smile on my face, I extended my hand towards the attackers. "Time to die, boys!" I called out, my voice now filled with unwavering determination. A brilliant surge of divine energy erupted from my tiny form, enveloping the room in a blinding white light. The Spirit Guardians, true to their name, darted forward with blinding speed, leaving trails of shimmering light in their wake. Each attacker they touched was immediately engulfed in a radiant aura, and their hostile expressions turned to shock and terror.

The once menacing intruders fell to their knees. With a flick of my staff, I began casting one holy spell after another, and each attacker was struck by a torrent of divine power. They cried out in disbelief, unable to withstand the overwhelming force of my magic. One by one, they fell to the ground, unconscious and defeated.
The room fell silent, the only sound being the soft tinkling of the bell at the top of my staff. I took a moment to catch my breath, feeling the rush of power still surging through my petite frame. With my new abilities, I was indeed overpowered, and the attackers had never stood a chance.
Just then, Stella rushed in, having heard the commotion. "Blake, are you okay? What happened?" she asked, wide-eyed at the scene before her.
"These guys broke in and attacked me. I had reverted back to my normal self somehow, and when I tried to turn back into Unblakeable, I accidentally selected my priest Healsatot," I said in a squeaky gnomish voice.
As Stella helped me tie up the unconscious intruders, I couldn't help but be amazed at how powerful my priest character, Healsatot, had turned out to be in this real-life situation. Once the attackers began to stir, we knew it was time for some answers.
"Alright, boys, time to spill the beans," Stella said, her expression stern. "Who sent you, and why did you attack my friend here?"
One of the intruders groaned, glancing nervously at me with wide eyes. "We were... we were hired by someone. We were told there's a reward for capturing a High Elf named Blake."
My heart sank as I realized what had happened. When the inn girl saw me in my High Elf form earlier, she must have recognized me and alerted the Inn Keeper, who, in turn, must have informed the adventurers guild about the supposed reward. It seemed like my little slip up when I took the food had backfired horribly.
"Who hired you? Speak up!" Stella demanded, pressing further.
"It was... it was a guy in a dark cloak. We didn't see his face. He just paid us to capture the High Elf," another intruder mumbled.
"What did he look like? Did he mention anything else?" I asked, hoping to get more information.
The intruders exchanged glances, seemingly unsure if they should reveal any more details. Finally, one of them spoke up, "He had a deep voice... and he mentioned something about wanting to get rid of a threat to the country. That's all we know, I swear!"
I frowned, puzzled by the vagueness of their answers. It seemed like these attackers were just pawns in a larger scheme, and they had no real knowledge of who was behind this.
"We need to leave now," Stella insisted, her tone urgent. "There might be more people coming. I can't believe you showed your face after I specifically told you not to. That was the only time you've been exposed."
"Look at me! Nobody would mistake me for a High Elf now. They'd probably think that girl was just seeking attention and making things up. There's no reason we can't finish the night here and leave in the morning," I argued, not wanting to depart in the middle of the night. I desperately hoped that going back to sleep might trigger my transformation and return me to my normal self. As inconvenient as it was, at least I'd know the cause.
"How do you think that will play out?" Stella retorted, sounding condescending. "You arrived here as a huge Paladin knight, and now there's no Paladin knight, only a tiny gnome priestess. They'll either assume the High Elf escaped and we were hiding him, or they'll realize something's wrong with you, and that's a whole new problem we don't need."
The reality of Stella's words hit me hard. She was right, and I couldn't afford to be reckless. We needed to leave immediately and figure out how to resolve this situation safely. Reluctantly, I nodded in agreement, understanding the gravity of the predicament we were in.
"Okay, you're right. Let's go," I said, trying to sound more resolute than I felt.
Stella nodded, relieved that I finally saw reason. We gathered our belongings and made our way out of the inn quietly, not wanting to draw any more attention to ourselves. The night was dark, and the streets were deserted, which worked in our favor. Still, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease as we hurried through the shadows, trying to avoid any potential pursuers.
