CHAPTER 3 - Trouble Always Knock's
ANOTHER 4 YEARS
April 30, 2028 12:30pm
[RIIIIIINNNNG, RIIIINNNG …]
In a car moving towards the Reynard Mansion, Ambrose Wallace picked up his ringing cell phone. He checks the area for a police car while switching his phone to speaker mode.
“Javier, what’s the verdict?”
Wallace immediately questions before the caller has a chance to reply.
“The investigator they hired has been taken care of. A slight complication has occurred though; there was one other recipient on his report, their identity currently unknown. We sent his client your contact number in his place, they should be contacting you soon”
Javier his second in command replies.
“Is that so? Well damn, looks like that’s more work for us, good to know. Yeah they called already, I’m on route now, call me if anything else develops.”
Moments after he hangs up, Wallace’s phone rings again.
“Ambrose here”
He replies, hearing a male voice on the other end of the line.
“I heard from your partner there was a complication? Was our participation in this plan to steal the company discovered? I demand you fix this immediately! We need that deed for the Summerlin as soon as possible, if they become aware that a new vein has been found, all our work will be for nothing!”
“Don’t worry, your involvement should still be unknown. We are professionals, if we fail our task it just means that we weren’t good enough. I’m hanging up now, I have to get into character.”
‘This might actually be fun, upgrading their security and then using it against them. My contract is for a month, I have that long to look for a way to get it. If I am unable to accomplish that then I’ll take the target, if that’s not karma I don’t know what else to call it’

REYNARD MANSION
Midday, 3:30pm
Anger, distress, and disbelief can be felt in the air as the parents enter the master’s study in the back left side of the mansion, Sebastian & Alicia were always forbidden to enter. While it seemed to be a good idea seven years ago, having their protégé’s hold their positions in the company, it later backfired as they were now being bought out through backroom deals and contracts they were never even made aware of.
After the obvious fireworks that ensued the situation was explained in an email by a private investigator they hired when Samuel and Tyler became suspicious of the company's tax papers of the last few years. Apparently Takeru felt they didn’t deserve to reap the benefits of their luck and shouldn’t be able keep the influence in the company they maintained. Through blackmail, bribery and deceit, he moved the stocks around until they only controlled a 49% of the company after quietly siphoning money from the company itself for the past 11 years.
In an email they received later on, it is recommended by the investigator that they upgrade their security and overall protocols for their homes as they are still the majority stock owners in the company. He even goes through the trouble of recommending the phone number of an associate to call. They take this suggestion seriously and 3 hours later, the natural sound of children playing a card game is interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell.
“I’ll get it Dad!” Sebastian (12) shouted as he opened the door, he began to take a step back and ask who the man at the door is. Unfortunately, for him as soon as he began to, he instead gets startled by the stranger.
“THAT IS YOUR FIRST, AND LAST MISTAKE!” A deep voice bellows in front of him.
‘ Hmm, he's kinda tall but still young pretty decent build too. Hahahaha… look at his eyes, this is going to be fun!’
Is Ambrose’s first thought on seeing one of the children belonging to the Targets/ Clients???
‘What?! Who the hell is this?’
Are Sebastian’s thoughts as he falls backwards onto the floor. The sound of multiple people running in the house was immediately heard as everyone came to the door to find out what had happened. What they saw upon arrival is Sebastian on the floor and an unknown man standing in the doorway.
“If this was a kidnapping attempt it would have already been over. It took way too long for someone to come to his aid, and more importantly why was he the person to answer it? Do you people actually realize the situation you are in?” he questions sarcastically. The guards outside were alerted by the commotion and came closer to see what the disturbance was about.
Vanessa was the first to recover from seeing “her baby” on the floor and immediately began to move toward her son. After she checked Sebastian and reassured herself that he was alright, turned her attention to the loud mouthed individual in her home.
“Exactly who are you? AND WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO YELL AT MY SON IN OUR HOME?!”
She screamed the last part in anger.
“Ambrose Wallace (32) at your service madam, your family has come to the realization that your position in your company is not favorable, and that unnamed individuals might try to kidnap and harm you. I was referred to prevent that and the sooner you accept my word as law in matters of security, the easier this will be.”
He replied with a smirk knowing how much it would tick her off.
“THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!”
Vanessa screams infuriated.
‘Fuck! this is not what we need right now, how exactly did this happen?’
Was Tyler’s thought as he watched the drama unfold.
“How about we all calm down, and move to the living room, how does that sound?”
Sam’s reply gave Tyler the lifeline he needed to stop the problem from continuing.
“No need, if you can’t agree to what I’m saying now, then I don’t need to be here”
Ambrose replied as he reluctantly made a show of turning around to leave.
‘Don’t you dare ruin my fun or I will take you out not consequences be damned!’
“Wait!”
He heard from behind him as he walked away.
‘You, better call me back’
There was a momentary silence while everyone waited for Tyler’s answer; after all it was his son this happened to. No one could guess what he’s going to say, since he had been silent when he entered the foyer. After a moment he finally gave a reply

“Alright we accept your terms Mr. Wallace.”
“Excellent! We will need to add cameras to the front door, side door, back door and Garage. We also need to create a panic room somewhere in your home, for you to enter in case your home is ever attacked. I don’t know how you were able to live without these precautions for so long but those days are over. I know that you don’t live here and I will do the same for you Mr. Alcott.”
He quickly replied when he saw Sam about to say something before he was finished talking.
“Unfortunately, my family will be traveling for the next 2 months, visiting family we leave tonight, so I will work with you when we return Mr. Wallace.” Sam answered when he was finally able to speak.
‘WAIT?! THEY’RE LEAVING?! DAMN?!.... Looks like I can only play with the kid’
Was Ambrose’s only thoughts when he hears Sam’s answer.

ONE MONTH LATER May 30, 2028
Sebastian after his initial meeting with Ambrose, took an instant dislike to him. It didn’t improve as time went by, Ambrose took extreme pleasure in pointing out everything he did wrong during a security drill. Numerous times he would, make up ridiculous rules just to claim he never told him to do it later on.
The panic room was built into the spare bedroom that was left in the top right corner of the house. That room coincidentally, was given to Ambrose temporarily as he was there as a live in consultant, until the security company they hired was able to take over a month later. The room was normally left for the Alcott’s use, if they spent the night over after too much to drink.
Though he searched the house, Ambrose was unable to find the deed. Even when he cracked the safe that was located in the master study.
That day was a particular challenge because as he was leaving the room Sebastian appeared behind him and inquired why he was in there. After a quick pause where he got over the shock of being caught unaware, he answered claiming he was making sure all of the windows were secure as he was going into town for the day.
That event unnerved him because he didn’t hear a sound announcing Sebastian’s approach even though he was listening in case anyone came his way. From that day on, he made sure to confirm where the kid was at all times. It turned out to be futile however, as he was never able to find the deed even though he was 100% certain it was on the property.
THAT NIGHT 9:00PM
Ambrose walked out the front door of the home relief evident on his face as he headed toward the fountain in front of the house. He had just left the kid inside after confirming he was in his room upstairs watching T.V.
(FINALLY! This damn assignment is over tonight, I was never able to find the document but that will be easily fixed now that I know all of the security measures they had before I arrived)
His phone rang and after a check to confirm who it is, automatically answers with the belief he is alone. Unfortunately for him, once again Sebastian had been planning his revenge after dealing with his torture for a month.
Unnoticed Sebastian followed him outside in order to push him in the water. Like every other kid his age, he has a cell phone, which he set up on the balcony on the second floor to videotape his revenge. Just as Sebastian was about to push Ambrose something about the feeling he currently got from Ambrose made him pause and instead he hid behind the left arch by the door.
“Javier, we are a go the target will be the kid; his parents are out to dinner for the night. Tonight’s plan only has three bodyguards patrolling the area. It will just be you coming in to limit the exposure risk. Sara is to be on standby until further notice. I will do my job and direct him to the panic the room, you should already have the code it’s 4357. The client apparently, has grown weary waiting for me to find the deed, so we are kidnapping the kid. I’m warning you however, I just spent the past month with this brat he appears where you least expect him, be vigilant we start in 30 minutes.”
As he stood hidden from sight and listened to the conversation Sebastian was confused.
‘Mr. Wallace is planning to kidnap me?! What’s this deed he’s talking about that he couldn’t find? What should I do? I can’t fight a grownup I don’t even know how? Even if I warn security, they won’t believe me because Wallace is currently in charge of them. To them I’m just the owner’s kid!’
He calmed his mind zoning out all his surroundings, while he rapidly thought of several scenarios where he still wound up caught. He briefly contemplated contacting his parents before he discarded the idea. His parents never answered their phones whenever they went out to dinner. He then recalled, his father called his Uncle Oliver an army veteran.
‘Uncle Oliver he can help me, I remember dad said something about him being in the army. That should be something like security I’ll just call him.’
He decided as he quietly slipped away heading upstairs while Ambrose continued talking on the phone. A few minutes later Sebastian was upstairs, on the balcony where he picked up the cell phone and stopped the video in order to call his uncle. After speed dialing the number the phone rang for a few seconds before he finally got an answer.
“Hey kiddo what’s up?” His Uncle Oliver answered the phone cheerfully.
“Uncle Oliver the security guard that mom and dad hired last month, was on his phone a moment ago talking to someone about some deed we have and kidnapping me!”
Sebastian quickly filled him in on the conversation after he emailed him the video. Then, he panicked, as the situation began to register.

"Events are moving along pretty fast aren't they. Well, I'm actually looking forward to watching the kid get his ass beat. What's with the false modesty? Stop depending on others learn to do things on your own! Not that I can talk i'm still stuck here."
