Reboot 2: Mesmerized

Note that how I wrote last chapter was because it was kinda Isabelle's pov, while this chapter is based on Cynthia's pov. I'll alternate between the two (of course when the chapter is about them) until their arc is over~

Yeah, I changed Isa's name to Enyo, as the one before was for another chara lol

Ugh, I always get lazy around the groundwork chapters and the amount of test and assignments I had this week did not help..

Btw, "nee-chan" is a cuter version of big sister.

----------------------------------------

Cynthia wasn't really that interested in the game, but her cute little sister wanted to play it, so she had to play too. There was no way she'd let someone, be it male or female, go anywhere near Isa.

That's why, after she skipped the modification of her body and read the description of each available, she choose to be a beastwoman of the fox tribe.

A fox girl.

The members of the fox tribe were the most powerful wielders of mind magic, even though many just specialized in illusion magic, that didn't mean that was all there was to it.

Cynthia's intent was to brainwash the thrash that would not give in even after a beating. She did know just constantly using illusion magic to hide Isa or make her less cute would be enough, but she considered such things a sin towards humanity.

Race chosen, she started to modify her appearance.

'Voluptuous yet reasonably sized breasts, nut-coloured hair, ears and tail, appropriate buttocks to match the bosom, golden eyes and a slender body.'

Cynthia nodded as she observed the end result. As the system broke her out of her train of thoughts, Cynthia quickly answered

"Theàomai"

Somehow, the irony in the name had always captivated Cynthia. She always thought it was her hidden M side's fault.

Remembering her sister's words, she firmly said

"No, I'd like to spawn in Einswel"

<>

"Yes"

After a flash of darkness passed, Thea found herself in the plaza of a town, or maybe a city, that seemed to be a mix of both a desert town(/city) and a port town(/city), closely resembling the ones made many years ago in her world.

"Yo, nee-chan."

Hearing her lovingly sweet Isa's voice, Thea looked toward the direction the voice came from and saw a handsome (?) young girl with strange eyes. Upon recognizing her, Thea smiled while she replied

"Hello."

Enyo gave Thea a quick hug before they both checked their statuses, skill lists and inventories. In the skill section, nothing differed if not for the fact that while Enyo had the Identification skill and Thea did not, though in its stead she had the "Illusion Magic" skill tree. As for stats, while Enyo was well-balanced, Thea's basic stats favored agility and dexterity at the cost of strength and stamina. Strangely, Thea had a -20% resistance to advanced technology, but later when the two checked multiple forums, they found out no one knew what this "advanced technology" referred to, as since the start of the game up to now, no player who chose to be of the fox tribe found a weapon or spell that dealt them that +20% damage.

"What do we do now?"

Asked Thea, barely containing her joy and.. lust. Enyo had been staying on her laps ever since they sat down to check the various windows. As she was about to sweetly hug her little sister, the system sent her a warning, saying that no underaged player could perform or receive sexual acts.

Hyria did not have a way for players to flag others for sexual harassment or similarly heavy misconducts. The reason was simple, since the very first moment a user started playing, a simple AI was assigned to them. This AI constantly made sure the safety of its assigned player was maintained, but it also made it so that the users could not freely rape or torture (or whatever else) people.

"First, we'll ask a guard for the location of this city's Warriors' Atelier, I need a weapon."

"Mh"

After their conversation was over, they stood up and started walking toward one of the city's gates. It wasn't near the plaza, but it was visible, so that's how the two knew where to go. At the gate there were two lizardmen acting as guards, they wore a light armor over clothes to protect their skin from the sun, they also wielded an iron spear and a rounded wooden shield reinforced with iron.

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

"Excuse me, I'd like to know where is the Warriors' Atelier situated"

Enyo questioned one of the guards as she walked up to him. The guard lazily glanced at her and then at Thea. After a snort, he explained to Enyo the road to the building and also gave a rough description of the exterior of the building. Thanking him, the two began walking away, toward their destination.

Inside, there many noob players and only a few NPCs. Later, when Enyo and Thea were done asking around, they understood that there was no instructor at this atelier. Shrugging it off, Enyo grabbed one of the bastard swords on display and started walking back to the building's entrance with Thea silently following. She was too busy glaring any person that dared to stare at Enyo for more than 4 seconds.

Even though the three had talked not too long ago, they ignored each other while passing through the gate. The guard continued his work while Enyo and Thea continued to walk toward the hunting ground east of Einswel. From there, it was barely in view, but it was nonetheless visible.

The beautifully shining sea on the horizon. If they had been a couple, and the time was nightfall or daybreak, it would have surely been a perfect romantic scene. Just thinking about it made Thea start daydreaming.

'Aaah.. ahh.. Isa and me, hugging on the beach, candidly looking at the sunset reflected on the ocean, slowly slipping into a pink mood, our faces unconsciously keep getting closer and closer to each other and then.. !'

As Thea shivered from the excitement, she was slightly brought back to reality, which made her realize that Enyo had already began engaging monsters left and right. Thea was instantly enraged.

'How dare those ugly maggots go near my Isabelle!'

She activated her skill. Most skill trees, like the one Thea had, didn't do much alone, they had to be used as a base to acquire the various sub-skills that would be integrated and strengthened by them. Of course, you could still obtain the sub-skills without having the main-skill, but the wouldn't be as powerful.

Thea concentrated on the brain of the mob Enyo was fighting it. She first thought to just directly fry his brain, but since she had little time and her main-skill was about illusions, she decided to implant in the monster's brain images so frightening and terrifying that the creature would then just have a break down and die.

The result was not as she expected, the mob ceased all movements and began to tremble, but it still worked as Enyo didn't waste her chance and beheaded it.

After that, they continue to slaughter all the worms in the area the came to attack them. The two were like zombies, and not in a good sense. The two were so exhausted it was a wonder how they still hadn't dropped dead. The scorching sun and the unfamiliar terrain formation, made them expend more stamina than necessary. They could survive only thanks to the level ups and the stupidity of the worms, which let the two rest for various minutes for several times.

The only downside was that after they killed around 20 of them, the worms stopped giving any worth mentioning amount of exp. The only difficulty in them lied in their numbers. In each wave of attacks, they had an average of 13 enemies.

Slowly, the rose up from the ground. No enemy or monster was in sight.

Their need for water seemed to increase with each passing second.

Their parched throats burned like never before.

Then, they saw their salvation.

The largest body of water on the planet, the ocean surrounding Hyria.

With clouded eyes and dried lips, they began dragging their body towards it.

Each step taken toward it felt reinvigorating, though in reality it wasn't.

The nearer they got, the more they felt fascinated, almost mesmerized, by the ocean.

It was like it was calling for them..
